As title says...... .......Julia and I took ZX number two for a blast down the M4 yesterday as we fancied a day out in Bath. I am very pleased with the car and it performed faultlessly; eating up the miles (very) swiftly with ease. It also used less than 3/4 of a tank of fuel for the 218 mile round trip - an achievement considering I wasn't hanging around either. Especially as the M4 was empty on the way there...:p I like it more with every trip and I reckon it's definitely a worthy replacement for my old Z Richard:cool:

Need help, when cold there is a rattle or more like chatter when driving at about 4000 rpm. This doesn't happen when start and rev car when stationary when cold only when moving. When warm runs very well with no noise. I know it is related to oil but got no idea where. Had car checked over recently, all plugs cleaned (injectors etc) new oil, filter, cam follower treatment in oil. Car is NA manual. Any ideas? Rob

Hi, Still having problems with my garage. until I can collect my car (in bits) they are telling me i owe them about £8000 this is a new development. Of course we have questioned what that £8000 is for. They have sent me two invoices which they believe i owe them the money for. The first invoice was garage services which i have got checked out no problems. the second invoice is for engine machining costs and head work. Is there anyone who would help look over the hours they have put down for the work done. for example: they have charged 40 hours to "Labour: Cutting new valve seats, fitting new stems, porting head, fitting springs" There a…

Saw you're car in saracens head car park, parked next to a yellow saxo. Cant remember the reg, but it was silver (may have been silver/blue, it was night time) had 4 pot lights on the back, black and beige leather seats with a little Z logo on them. No spoiler, and i think the standard front bumper.

OMG with all my bits just about to go on order I thought I would make a start on removing the engine today. Its a bit of a worry as we drove the thing into the garage, and now we have no idea how long it will take and if we will even be able to get it running again despite having a fantastic set up on the way :( so much can go wrong but at least the block and heads are built!. Right until today I was thinking of getting someone like Jimmer to fit it all, but the only reason I bought this car was as a project car for something to do over the winter so fingers crossed me and my friend can do it all :). I work on MX bikes I used to work in a garage in the ea…

car has been off the road for way over a year now, wanna get it back on to be honest. did a few jobs on it today. i charged battery and tried to start it, only problem is it was turning over but wouldn't start? (this happened to me the last time i tried to start it but i gave up coz at that point i wasn't in a rush to get it back on the road) Do u think it could be bcoz the fuel could be bad? that fuel has been in tank probably 18 months. or wat other probs u think it cud be? I was told last time PTU could be the problem but I bought a known working series 1 PTU and it made no difference. any input/ ideas welcome

Well... As some of you know I've had a balance test fail which we believe is the injector. Picked the car up on Wednesday and now I seem to have a massive Oil leak from somewhere, can't pinpoint it yet but more worryingly I have just checked the coolant and found a grey waxy substance around the Rad cap... no sign of anything on the rad cap or on dipstick and the coolant is clear as (no sign of oil) but I know fear the worst... I've had a compression test done recently and all is fine but if the break is between the oil way and a waterway it won't show there... I'm going to try and get a sniff test done but I'm now really worried... I spent 7K on buying the car and so far…

Can I run Vacuum lines... ...from the recirc - direct to the balance bar - rather than to the strange swan neck vacuum connector on the passenger side of the plenum? The drivers side goes direct to the balance bar - so I assume the other side should be fine doing the same. No EGR, no PRVR, no AIV, no Carbon canister - so I have nipples spare!

As it failed the mot we have been working on it. First it failed on the rear fog, it has had the rear reverse light wired as a fog but it just lights up both reverse lights and not very bright so took it all out and blanked off the top reverse light so its much brighter now and you cant tell its been blanked out so thats one job done. Second was to do a boost leak test, can hear a big leak coming from the passenger side low down, couldnt see it so could be near the turbo?? Worse fail was it has a split on the passenger side inner arch?? not sure how its happened, doesnt look like its been in a crash so not sure if someone has hit something hard and its gone…
