Hi, I am in need of an engine rebuild. Just want it to be reliable so forged pistons would deffo be needed. Basicly its a stage one engine build Long block i want so how much would it cost? I have seen how much it is from america(z1)(ipp). But postage might be a bit much just for a stage one. I have 2 engines. One in car with low oil pressure+smoke and another with melted piston on cylinder number 1. Crap old wires to injectors. Could i exchange both my dodgy engines for 1 good one for a better price? Hope someone can help Cheers Matt

any one had one fail. think mine are the originals (they are black) and my car is running rich on boost. could it be that as soon as the car stops using the o2 sensors it then over fuels? the car has a slight rythmical lumpiness (not a missfire) on idle that you can also hear as a slight pop in the exhaust if i raise the revs a bit the engine is very smooth.

been having thoughts about selling zed to get a tt supra,went with a mate to pick his new supra up from southhampton yesterday,and christ what a motor. coming along the M3 in 6th gear he changed it down to 4th and stuck his foot down and the speed is unbelievable.But i only have a na 300zx, should i go for a tt 300zx, anyone on here had a supra, and if so how would you say they compare.

Hi all Any recommendations on the best discs and pads to replace the originals ? Funds dont really permit the ConceptZ Akebono brake kit at the moment which is what I really want. Until then I think new discs and pads will have to do. Thanks Mark

I just got off the phone with a load of insurance companies, and i have to say that even with our Club discount - Adrian Flux were miles off. I'm 31 - 7yrs NCB - clean license. I'm sure that for some they have been the best, and this is what the guy on the end of the phone kept telling me, but they quoted £790 - and if i wanted to pay over 10 months it was going to cost me £911.90!! (over £120 quid extra?) Heritage - £570.86 and the winner...... - Carol Nash £529.10 Lynbrook were the best for classic policy with limited milage (8000miles) - £227.63. If anyone is looking to renew soon i would suggets speaking to those that i have just listed. …

Last night car came to a standstill- wouldn't restart. Called recovery who could only take me & car home on back of truck- mechanic not sure what problem was. felt as though dirty petrol (tank had been low earlier & I had put £10 in). Got home, rolled car off truck- got in turned key & hey presto- it started. As it was 4am left it till this morning- started first time -no hestitation at all & drove to work- only 2 miles though. Anyone got any thoughts on this one?

have had extensive tests on the car. Unfortunatley i had a broken Det sensor but apart from that i have no low compression and i also had the balance test done and every piston ran well on its own and without the need for turning on Air con to stop it from stalling (which my old car needed) and that still ran sweet. Overall the car engine (althouth dirty) is in VERY good nick. i do have twitchy injector cables that throw a piston out when just wiggling the cable so will be changing them soon for a new loom. My driver side O2 sensor is lazy at cold but once warmed up is absolutely spot on abd responsive (a sign its on its way out?) the wastegates were not piped…

I have a 1991 TT Auto. I was sitting at a junction with windows open recently when I got a whiff of what smelled like a plume of burning oill. I instantly looked up to see acouple of car behind me and thought it may have been one of them. Pulled over, checked the emissions visually on my car, clean as a whistle and smooth tickover on my car. I have not detected any smoking since apart from yesterday, siting at some lights and I looked in the rear view and noticed smoke. Pulled over, again no sign at all?? Again there were cars behind me...could it have been one of them...I doubt it judging by there recent manufacturer. I have sat the car on tickover, revved it, …

hi Every time that i start my 300zx tt auto Brake ligth cames on has normal then after engine starts to getting hot it goes of some times even after a good while then other times it seams to take less time to go off. just dont get why ? any ideas?

hello all,just been brought to my attention,that not only does my fairlady have a glow rear panel(waiting for a new inverter) but glow sills too... however the drivers side is not glowing,there are fancy blue lights under the cockpit when the door opens could this have something to do with it??or will be a fuse?or wire connection? Please advise.............

Hi, Read lots of posts on here that suggest if the car is not jacked from the correct place, the wings could get damaged. Looking to change the oil this weekend, so is it OK to use the protruding sills just behind the front wheel, at the back of the wheel arch? This is the place I would normally have jacked up previous Nissans. Thanks.

Hi everyone, my mate was working on my car and he phoned me up and said there is loads of play in my back wheels when it is jacked up, we grabbed the wheel and 9oclock and 3 oclock and there is movement so i thought id better get the bushes changed, then we realised its rear wheel steer model and wondered if its meant to be there, please can someone shed some light on the situation. regards John

ive nearly got the car sorted now.. just one problem left. the car smells of unburnt fuel when on boost. i have virtually no boost leaks (i think the cam covers are leaking when pressurised as i have an oil leak there too) i replaced the recirc valves timing etc was spot on the only thing not really checked is the afm but i had a conzult last week which showed nothing unordaiary- is that correct jeff? no cats fitted btw i am going to remove the plenum some time soon to do the cam covers so ill replace the fuel rail hose. have i missed somthing or does the std map just run very rich when coming on boost

was on the way to work this morning and having a good drive through the countryside - came to overtake a bin lorry and the engine started juddering and i lost lots of power. the first thing i thought was damp filter but ive had this problem loads before and that is different in that it just cuts out once for half a second or so. what i noticed on driving was that being gentle on the throttle was ok, but when i started to build up boost, it started juddering again, and i could hear air escaping from what sounded like the driver's side near the front bumper. also it would try to stall on me when out of gear, but as long as i blipped the throttle then it would pick…

My cruise control hasnt worked since I bought the car. When I press the Cruise On button the green cruise light illuminates on the dash and the brown relay inside the passenger kick panel can be heard switching. There is a black relay beside it that I also replaced but I'm not sure what its for. My brake pedal switch seems to be working fine. My ASCD Control Box has this printed on it “18930 50P00, ET70-537DC12V, K3ZH". I see the ADCD modules on Ebay but they part number doesn’t match. I would appreciate any help that anyone can offer. My fuse box in my engine bay doesn’t have any relays for cruise control. My car is a 1994 Twin Turbo Jap import. I couldn’t find a …

I replaced my standard shocks with KYB AGX items a while ago. After fitting I noticed that the wheel arch clearance on the rear driver's side was much less than the passenger side (2 fingers vs 4 fingers). If I'm travelling at speed on the motorway and hit a "rolling bump" in the road that causes the car to dip, the rear tyre can actually come into contact (briefly) with the arch - not good :( All my suspension parts are stock apart from the KYBs (athough I was considering upgrading the other components at some point). Does my problem sound like worn or badly adjusted parts or could it be something more serious? Any recommendations or suggestions appreciated …
