Hi Again, I was poking around looking through the windows of some of the cars outside Jeff's at Zedworld and noticed that several of the cars had what appeared to be a headlight beam level control. Is this a retrofit item or a new fitting? Does anyone know if it is possible to retrofit it to a JDM '92 TT LWB or does anyone make a control unit that does the same thing? I am guessing I would need to change the headlights too. Any help would be much appreciated Thanks in advance

  2. Hi Chaps, Now that I'm fully subscribed, hopefully I can post this without it getting moderated! I currently have a Momo steering wheel in my car but would like to swap it for an OEM NA wheel. Please note that it must be one without the cruise control as apparantly some parts of the boss and fittings are different. Anyone interested in a swap or have an NA wheel to sell? My wheel is shown below. Thanks.

Hey Guys, Wanted a decent quality hard pipe kit and was wondering if these were any good: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=350240045420&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT#ht_998wt_1167 Don't know if Smithy's Place would be the answer or does anyone else know where I should be looking? Any help would be much appreciated Cheers in advance - Cyrus

Hey anyone ahd the same problem as me. Ive got a HKS type 1 turbo timer and the mph reading is off by about half when im doing 60 it says im doin about 30. Also the RPM reading is high by about 500 compared to the rpm reading on the standard gauge. The signal wires are connected into the wires at the ECU and its all the correct wires. Not sure if a simple bad connection might cause this any views?? Marty

Hi guy's. I have decided to get my dodgy speedo repaired whilst my car is off the road. Basically sometimes the speedo reads 0 whilst going along so I have been driving it around for the last year it was on the road with the top cowling off because sometimes when you press the LH connector in at the back the needle shoots into life. This says to me that the sender in the gearbox is good. Also the low fuel warning light has never worked. Not sure if it's all connected. There doesn't seem to be any provision for this at the back. I have tried another speedo cluster in the car and, sure enough all works perfectly including the low fuel warning. I'm a little s…

I think this is a pretty easy one to solve just wanted to confirm so i know before i go check the car. Put HID conversion on the car and main beam doesnt work now and thinking about the earth is onto the light and not the bulb for the dipped beam so im pretty sure the main beam uses that same earth that i have disconnected. Can someone just confirm this for me cheers Marty

Well , I got a Series 2 PTU from the States and faffed aound fitting it yesterday ( That`s to say , I dropped the first screw I tried to fit , fitted the top two and dropped the last screw . Actually , by then I didn`t care : It`s light enough to be tight enough with two :p ) Anyway , I drove it in heavy traffic today , stopped to shop at Tesco , where the problem usually manifests itself , and , f*ck my luck , it did the same old thing : Kept cutting out because it had reached operating temp . I`m a bit p*ssed off after all that , to be honest :headvswal Time and money wasted .

My 300zx is misfiring, and I have narrowed it down to cylinder no 4 (mid cyl left bank). Have changed the coil pack and no success, and today also swapped the injector connector and cleaned the injector it self. Tried with an "ohm meter" directly on the injector and I get a resistance of approx. 3.25 kOhm (yes kilo ohm). This does not sound OK to me, but is there someone that know what resistance that I should read. If it is the injector, have anyone swapped no.4 using the "dremmel method" or will in be plenum off. If it is plenum off, is there other things that I should get swapped at the same time. Also, any idea how long time it will take a garage to lif…

Ok not exactly a new topic but a good example of crank pully failure presented itself here. With the engine running there was an awful knocking sound from low down at the front of the engine, with the engine switched off a quick inspection did not immeidiately reveal anything. However with it running the area where the noise was coming from was more obvious but then its suddenly stopped making any noise, weird, revving up the engine however reproduced the sound again and it was spotted. The picture below shows what it looked looked like from below when there was no nasty noises. After tracking it to the pully, a bit of pressure applies showed the …

I just removed the original speakers (90 jap tt import) to swap speakers. The plug has obviously blown or something in the past (see pic) The black housing clip of the wires had no indication as to positive/negative I removed the plastic leaving two wires (other pic) They don't really have much of a colour distinction either (both a burnt brown!) Question is how do i know which is which? I want to connect new speakers without breaking anything Anyone know how i can tell?

Electrical problems and water ingress go hand in hand on any car and no less the zed especially with targa roofs. Many owners have experience some level of water leak from the targa / door seals but in the vast majority of cases it is obvious as it shows up on the seats or your leg if your unlucky enough to be driving through big rain and it lets in. So when we saw a zed with some odd electrical issues and a very wet passenger carpet the taga was an obvious suspect. But when pulling the carpet back the area below the ecu was very dry. So with everything initially looking ok we checked out the targa drain points Now what yo…

It is central of the car where the gear shift goes up into the car. the noise is only there when the ignition is switched on and engine is off!! it is deffo electrical and sounds like a fridge??? Do soloniods buzz?? The noise is quite loud. Hope someone can help ;) Thanks
