Hi all, got these tyre valve extenders from Halfords that I have to use to connect a footpump to my wheels. The metal valve on my wheels is such that the head on a footpump will not fit so I have to use these extenders. Anyway the Halfords ones are shit. Made of plastic and the thread wears out on em. What I really would like are some nice metal ones if one of you knows where I can get em? ta,

I have a 1990 import tt which is fitted with front fogs. I recently changed the side light bulbs in the unit for leds to match the new HID dipped beams, brilliant, the question is I noticed that fog bulbs were in their holders , wired up but do not seem to work. Is there a switch somewhere controlling these ?

Hi folks ive just been reading Lorenzo`s problems with his alarm and ive had similar problems with mine. The zed had a clifford 300 fitted when i bought her and it was all ok for a few months and then the door open light came on and stayed on with all the doors closed. Ive checked the alarm circuit and it looks like it been wired into both door open switches what effect will this have on the relay in the rear quart that i have just learned about cheers Marty

Okay, lets say hypothetically speaking I were to aquire a zed that had a cloth interior and was in a colour i didnt particularly think suited it... Has anyone any rough costs of a retrim into leather? Single colour would probably do but from memory Apache's (Phils!) car looks the dogs with its two tone. The car is a SWB so there is less to recover than a LWB. Has anyone much experience with this or costs or company names... Cheers! Also if I wanted to change the colour as far as I can tell I have two options. The first is the traditional respray which is okay but you have to inform DVLA etc. Now the alternative is a vinal wrap, I've seen this done to a few vehic…

I have just had my dipped beams converted to HID's and love the light that they give. I have changed my sidelights to a bulb that matches the colour of the new HID's much better. I wanted to change my main beam H1 bulbs to these: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/H1-New-Philips-DiamondVision-Bulbs-5000k-pair_W0QQitemZ300379339357QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item45f000fa5d#ht_651wt_941 But I don't know the legality of these as main beam bulbs. My HID's are a 6000k colour temperature but I can't find H1 bulbs that are 6000k rated. Does anyone know the legality of these bulbs for road use or if there are 6000k colour rated bulbs available…

i have series 4 manual control for my central heating. just been out now the snow as fully cleared from everywhere and i drove for a good 30 mins, some motorway blasting as well as normal roads. i must of got it fully warm. my temp gauge on the dash clocks never got above about a 3rd up, i also have a stack after market temp gauge and this was almost on 100 degrees fahrenheit. consequently the heat in the cabin was not hot although it was aired to warm, i never turned the heat setting down it was up as far as it would go!!! i may need a new thermostat, i know that, as this will make me more toasty in the winter. a few weeks ago the dash clock reached about hal…

i have a series 4 so its a manual control for the fan speed. it is playing up off late, i have off,1,2,3, and 4 speeds. it works at a 3 speed or 4, it is probably 4, and if i move it down to 2 or 1 nothing happens. i move it fast from side to side and it does go off when at off but will then come on again at full speed and i have not touched anything!! when it does decide to stay off, i move it from this off position past 1 and 2 and nothing happens, reach 3 and it all comes to life, bizarre. all the direction control works fine and as no bearing on my speed control problem. i do hear clicking from the dash passenger side, whats this and can i access whatever it…

I've had this problem for years but just haven't done anything about it. I only put the fuse in for the MOT and take it out afterwards as it randomly goes off (in the middle of the night usually:censored:). Is there somewhere in particular I should be looking for the fault? I've done the push button end already (still went off?!?!?!), could it be the relay in the drivers footwell?

Hi everyone! I just noticed that after I start the engine from cold and trying to drive str8 away I get a bit of misfire and loss of power... I think it may be something to do with the o2 sensors. A while ago the headgasket blown and, as I know this can poison the o2 sensors. Also the fuel consumption seems to be a bit high. As I will change the o2 sensors anyway, does any one knows if this ones are good? http://www.zcentre.co.uk/shop/product_info.php?products_id=379 Thank you

Hi There - This may be a really silly question but I had my '92 TT LWB changed from auto to manual last week - but how do I get the spec of the car changed on my V5 (logbook)? Do I just contact the DVLA or are there reams of forms to fill out (if so which ones!)? I have already let my insurance know but I want all the docs to tie up. Thanks in advance Cyrus

I am going to remove my bootcarpet to install the enclosure & sub which I bought from Craig http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=133111 I haven't used my Z in about 7 months as it is garaged and having lots of goodies bought for it. So in saying that I haven't used it in a while, I had a quick look at the boot the other day and realised when I pushed the back seats forward, that the boot carpet is actually joined onto the back seats.... It has screw/clips in place and it looks as if it is stitched onto the back of the rear seats?.. Obviously it isn't possible to remove the carpet without ripping it from the back seats too? Is this right? C…

Hi everyone! Two days ago I had an alarm fitted on my car. I went to a shop where they sell and fit alarms. The alarm system works fine but it`s been two days since having the allarm fitted and two fuse blow up... Last night for example, I could not switch off the parking lights...I had to remove the fuse...I think it has to do with the allarm installation. What do you think? Thank you!

Hi all i have been having a intermittent fault with the Z lately it seems to at times always from start up to be hesitant and restrictive throughout the gear changes etc it also seems to be over fuelling a fair bit, it was suggested to me that the car may be running safety mode?? So the question is as i think the conzult list we have is a little outdated Is there anyone in the North West or North Wales area that come and look at the car for me and hook it up to there conzult?? i would help towards fuel costs if needed but i really need to identify any issues and know what i'm dealing with before i head for Z world Any help much appreciated  Th…

Hello folks.:helpsmilie: Quite a while back a seen this zed up for sale and was due to go see it when back home from work, then it went for 4k. I had photos of the car sent to be then and it looked really really nice, nice bright red. Looks now to have dulled, not as attractive, i phoned the chap and he says its just not been washed in the photos, also that he doesnt have any of its service history.:glare: Anyways, spoke to him about it claims theres no rust, no vibrations, no engine knocks etc etc. Not much off an add but i am only intrested as i had previously seen that car and liked it. what do use think? http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1404735.htm …

Just wondered who is still using there Zed in the snow? im to sceptical to even try as my other older RWD cars have always been a handful in it, and im getting wheel spin in 3th from a standstill in my other FWD car. Id dread to think what it would be like in a zed so that brings me to my next question. Apart from good quality tyres are there any handling mods that can give the zed superior grip in rain/snow etc? I been using playing with a little 1 series BM for a while and the handling and grip for such a basic car seems to be far better than my zed.

I've been looking at the various wide body kits available and was wondering are wheel spacers the only releastic option to widening the rear wheel base or are there any after market kits available? How have others got around filling the arch after rear has had the wide body kit added? Thanks, Tony :gunsmilie:
