Trouble is that when I do a search, nearly every post has a different battery number suggested! My current one is a type 075. Does anyone know which was the factory type? Normally the car gets left for up to a week and still starts ok, I did find that the passenger door wasn't shut properly so possibly the interior light may have stayed on? I've got the battery on charge and will try it back on the car before condemning it...

The NA box does not normally fit over a TT flywheel. It catches on the ring gear teeth. It needs a little metal removing inside the bellhousing. Check out the pic to see where. Between the red marks in the area marked with a wavy line. Not much needed. Once you have done bolt up for a trial fit and turn engine over BY HAND and check there are no nasty noises on tight spots!! See pic sharp eyed people might spot the modded NA water pipes too. Job Done:cool2:

Pranged the underside of the car on some raised ironwork (gate stop) on my mate's driveway and ever since every time I turn the heater on there's a godawful rattling noise which is VERY loud both inside and outside the car! Ordinarily I'd wait til the car goes into the garage to get this checked out but as it's cold out, it's fairly urgent not only for heating but the windows keep misting up too (due in no small part to the bad seals on the door windows!). Anyway, long story short I was going to have a look myself tomorrow to see if its anything I can fix myself but have no idea where to start!! Would anyone be able to point me in the right direction in terms of…

  7. Hi all, I'm having what appears to be a common problem, steering sometimes heavy, sometimes light, often 'notchy' around the central position. This is almost all the time now. So far I've replaced the PS pump (PITA!) and fluid, checked the connections behind the instrument cluster (the km/mph convertor is soldered in, all connections look good and I've reinsulated), checked the PS solenoid connections (look fine), checked the speed sensor (looks fine according to Jeff's pics) and the sensor connector (no problems). ECU has recently been reset. Car has been off the road for a couple of months, when I first got it running again the problem appeared to have be…

My drivers side headlight isn't working properly, I think its a dodgy earth. Any ideas where it earths or can I wire one in straight to the body as an easy fix? I have to drive back home to Cardiff tomorrow from Luton in the snow so want fully working lights.

  11. Not exactly a review but i can say i now get 10psi at 3000rpm which is very good and im sure with a few tweeks to the ebc it will be slighty better. What do others recon? Im also using Z1 5 bolt split downpipes, which are behind the gt25r turbos. So in my eyes these manifolds are a good buy, next test will be to see how much boost they can hold high up the rev range.

bad news. stripped down the front of the zed today as i was taking the engine out for a clean up and a manual conversion along with a bit of winter overhaul. unfortunatly the slight ding i thought it had turns out to be a bent chassis leg:crying: i now am forced with the task of replacing the chassis leg from a breaker or reshelling the car. this is so frustrating just as i have got the car running well and was about to do all the finishing touches to make it run perfectly. gutted

Popped in today at short notice as I was in the area. Jeff very kindly lent me 3 (!) CAS units for my last mapping session a few weeks ago so I could get to the bottom of a problem I was having and didn't ask for any cash up front. It was nice that both Jeff & Jamie took the timeout to catchup today and a shame I couldn't make the xmas meet yesterday. They are both clearly still very enthusiastic about the Zeds and prompted some interesting discussions as I showed them round my car. PS The drive back to London was fun - 580bhp, no TC, no ABS and running R888's in the snow! To be honest it was uneventful and the tires performed better than I thought the…

hi guys, i havent been on here for a while as i sold my Zed earlier in the year and bought a skyline, but ive missed the old girl and just bought another one, But as i have no solid income and still own the skyline im on a very tight budget, so i managed to pick up a black TT auto for 300 quid, the catch is that the owner put a new battery on it but put the terminals on the wrong way, !! since then he was not able to get it working, i havent started investigating yet but though maby some of you guys may have some advise on what may have blown or burnt out?? I hope its not too much as like i said im on a budget!!!

Ok guys and girls who came to the Zedworld Xmas Bash today, a few peeps had no alternative to not come due to the weather in their area`s and completely understand but a heart felt thank you to all of those who did attend for the support and for showing the real dedication that you guys have to be part of the 300zx community. Soppy yes but think it really felt like a big family party rather than a group of people from all parts of the county that sort of know each other via this forum. Shows how even when Mother Nature tries her hardest we will not be beaten Thank you to all who took part in the £1 raffle, it raised £67.00 and this is to be donated to G…

Well, its been ages since i've done anything to the Zed. Just enjoyed lots of trouble free motoring. But...now i have some time off work i've started doing a few things i want to it. First off....fitted the Apexi Induction kit & bumper removal ready for the 99spec front then removed Fujitsubo exhausts & flaky oem spoiler....i wanted the kaminari one but settled for a Monza one with slight modification insteas :( tried it in black after i saw that white and black one on here with blue rear lights.....wasn't keen so went almost body colour...needs respray. trial fit of new exhaust boxes....SWB ones..but got a part welded…

Anyone have any idea how easy it'd be to wire up a remote start on a car? obviously the main alarm would have to be turned off first and then remote started. Vijay

For anyone who's delocked your car, did you run extra wires anywhere for jumpstarting a flat battery? If so what did you use and where did you run it to? Cheers Vijay

hi, i just fitted a new tyre to my Z32, and have noticed the car now twitches at speed, for no reason it goes off to the side, then corrects its self again, not sure if its just driving it on ice, but its really hard to control, wonder if this is a hicas problem? of alinment? or somthing else? the front wheels seem to be turning correctly, it just seems like the new rear left tyre is causing problems.
