Hi all, so I've had my tt for a few weeks, fixing stuff as I go, the conzult interface arrived this week, so plumbed in and I have two codes, the knock sensor so that explains the over fueling (hope so) and 54 Circuit from AT transmission..... Urghhhh? She's deffo a manual When I bought her the hpi said 5 speed manual, the v5 does not state either. So could it have been converted from auto to manual at some point, keeping the auto ecu but then how does hpi know its a manual and the dvla doesn't? Or has the manual ecu failed and been swapped for a auto? I've read that auto turbos are different, and the radiator cowl, as it happens I don't have a …

My insurance, tax and MOT are all due to expire this month and I’m toying with the idea of getting the car SORN with the intention of stripping the underside for a refresh. However I’m wondering if I can insure the 300 while it’s off the road and if so what I need to ask for (it would be just my luck if I had a garage fire). So can you get SORN cover and if so who is recommended? Many thanks for your advice, Chris.

I have recently managed to get my JL amp and JL subwoofer working after many setbacks. Apart from a few tweaks, I am very happy with the setup. When I music direct from my phone (iPhone) via blue tooth, I get a ‘schsing’ noise in the background. If I turn down the music volume to zero, this noise is still there. However if I play a CD from the Headunit, I don’t get this noise. I had read on line that a poor earth my cause this issue, but the amp and HU both have a good earth connection, but the sound disappears when I play a CD. Any pointers greatly appreciated.

Hi guys. My car has been with the mechanic for over six months having some work done and has been returned with absolutely no fuel in it. I have been advised by another mechanic that I should put some kind of additive into the new petrol to clean the system. I know nothing about this (sorry, girly alert!). Could you advise what I should buy please? Thanks in advance for your help.

Gooday folks. Looking at the FSM on ABS system and just want to confirm my thinking. It looks to be that the OEM MC is a tandem type and I he 2 lines coming off essentially are for front and rear brakes through the ABS pump and with the brake bias built into the MC. If the MC was changed to a single output then this would require a brake bias valve to be incorporated into the lines before the ABS pump. Sound about right? Marty

Hi, not posted for a long time as my Z ownership ended in 2009. I was walking through the office today and there was a guy in the HR department who I had never seen before. His desktop wallpaper was a photo of a Z. I asked him if was his car and he replied "no, but I have one just like it". So the ensuing conversation wiped out a good 20 minutes of my busy day! I dont think he's a member on here, but just goes to show these great cars are still around.

We've had several official Z anniversaries this year (thanks for the stickers, bgh). My Z history has had a few milestones as well. The 1999 Version S (the one that's currently for sale) turned 20 on 30 April, I reached 250,000 miles across my three Zs in March. And today is 20 years since I bought my first Z. Been on and off this forum over the years but safe to say I wouldn't have got this far without the help and advice available here. So thanks to all the good and kind people here (the rest of you can sod off :D ) it's been a pleasure. Extra kudos to JeffTT - he's looked after all 3 of my Zeds and, if he hadn't escaped to Portugal, I'd still be pestering hi…

This week, I had to do a reasonably long round trip - about 260 miles in a day (not counting the ferry haha) and it reminded me of quite how good the Z is to drive. I'm happy for forum members who love modifying them for different looks, power, suspension and so on. More power to your collective elbows. For me, I remain astonished as to how good these are as stock (as long as they're maintained properly). I stuck to dual-carriageways, apart from a brief bit of the M40. Lovely sweeping bends and hills. The occasional 56mph trucking mobile chicane overtaking a 55mph trucking mobile chicane just meant a few miles off the loud pedal followed by the chance to floor it. Th…

Hello guys. I have some problems with my engine. It is fully overhault and convertet from auto to manual. I'am using the auto ECU. Pin number 44 is grounded. If engine is cold i get start on it at once. It warms up as normal. But when i stop the engine on round about 70degrees i can't start it anymore. If i force the coolant temperatur down to round about 20 degrees in Conzult it will start again but runs very lumpy. Have testet to raise the temperature degree by degree. The engine stalls right after raising to degrees. TPS is on .44volt. Fireing is on 15degree. Idle control is already changed from another running engine. On conzult its showing the right coolant te…

Noticed today that one of my number plate lights is dangling down a bit, upon closer inspection the bracket that should hold it in place has all bit disintegrated on the left hand side and I cant imagine the right side isn't fairing much better. Does anyone know the part number for these for a UL Spec rear bumper? I've tried searching multiple sites including JP-carparts but they only list the Jap spec or US spec parts. Cheers Andy

Took some time out last week from work and managed to take my 300 to Bristol to see Jimmer of PowerZed The plan was to try and get a bit more horse power out of the old lady as she was mostly stock when it came to the internals, Jimmer fitted the Greddy EBC and removed the ECU and put in a new one with a map for stage 1, the car now feels a lot more responsive and boosts up to 13.3 psi the horsepower gains where tangible with around 350-380bhp expected (will dyno her at some point in the future to find out). Next on the list of modifications will be a sports clutch and flywheel most probably towards the end of the year as well as brake pads, I must say…
