Hi all after spending ££££ on my Z, I hear they are expanding the ULEZ zone in October 2021. This will then cover where I live, so I am thinking of options which aren’t many seeing I only want to drive my 300. i assume all major towns will follow or have already.

  4. Started by bird,

Many of you will have seen the many updates on Facebook etc, but I thought it's about time I posted up here a proper update on the black Z. Following the knock it had, I put everything back together but made the choice to buy a new shell as it felt like the all round best, and safest option. The welding the old one needed meant the engine would have had to come out etc anyway, Plus the rest of the car underneath was generally a bit poor. So I bought a low mileage car which many will know as NED the ZED. Note the name Hasn't stayed!!! The car only has like 54k miles on it. Rust free etc so felt like a great buy. Was a little gutted it's a Series 1 car, but …

Hello Anyone heard of a broken camshaft on vg30dett? Mine is running on only 5 cylinders after a big bang. The engine was blokked a short time. Checked compression and it looks not so bad. Not bad noises now. Before i take the valve covers i will ask here. Thx a lot.

My ABS light is on constantly, ran through the diagnostics in the service manual and it seems fine except the power to the control unit. With the ignition on, pin 1 should get battery voltage, but I'm only getting about 6V. I measured the battery voltage as 12.5V. Anyone got any ideas what could cause that?

  10. Started by Gio,

The audio investigation continues. I traced the power supply routing (EL-11, -12) to the footwell fuses and have done a sheet showing what the manual says with a pic of the actual fuses. There are quite a few TLAs I don't know but will happily update if someone has better knowledge. There are also items which appear on several fuses - such as "Time", "A/c" etc. There is a stated difference between (C) Convertible and (S) Except convertible which I would guess is the rear lid and boot but haven't worked out the acronyms yet (C/Roof is probably the roof lid release and that means F/Lid is the Boot. Guess.) Reason for this is what's the difference between Fuse 1 "Bose A…

  11. Started by Gio,

I know I've posted similar in the past asking about power feed (and had help from AndrewG and IanL) but this is a bit of both so started a new topic. In an attempt to nail which fuses and wiring should be working in the convertible, I checked through the EL section in the manual. The relevant section from the 1996 manual is EL-177 to EL-186. In particular I'm looking at the wiring diags on: EL-178 EL-AUDIO_01 Except Bose System EL-179 EL-AUDIO-02 Bose System EL-180 EL-AUDIO-03 EL-181 EL-AUDIO-04 It's very confusing. Look at the speaker connections. None on 01, Doors for the Bose on 02, Rears on 03 and Doors on 04. My guess is that 01 is common to 4-…

Does anyone know where I can buy the TK3 blue paint from or is it likely that I’ll have to get it made up? Cheers, Chris.

  13. Hello everyone, Help... I am in trouble following the purchase of a brand new Brake Master Cylinder for by USA 1989 NA Z32 : the middle plug was not supplied with the BMC, and my old plug (from my OEM BMC) cannot be fitted inside as the geometry of the cone differs... Detail below : 1st photo : The 2 BMC - LEFT : my old OEM BMC + its middle plug (conical "convex" shape) - RIGHT : The new Nabco I just bought, delivered without center plug... 2nd photo : detail of the new Nabco I just bought : we can see that the hole has its conical shape inverted, making the fitting of the old OEM plug impossible. In conclusion, I need another "concave…

Hi all I’ve recently bought some 18” wheels for the zed that I’m not fitting until I purchase a set of decent coilovers (at least that’s current thinking). However, I had a set of Meister R coilovers on my last zed and being honest, I prefer the ride on oem suspension. So I wondered, does anyone have any photos of their cars with 18” wheels and standard suspension? ? Would like to see if it looks a little weird (how I think it might look) or if it’s passable ? cheers! (Random pic of my car... for no reason at all ?)

Hi, I have a 1993 TT Auto 2+2 thats been converted to manual. No problems there. What I have issue with is I've had the car for 12 years and to date never really bothered with needing the air con cooling function. Due to health reasons I now need it working. I've been told that the system needs parts replacing so that it can work with the latest stuff they use to regas them. Has anyone had experience of going through this process and knows what needs changing and some idea of the cost to get it done please? Many thanks, Rex

I’ve been circling the 300zx for a while and after reading all the info the forum has about shoehorning big people into little cars it looks like it should be fine but I’ve just got to see what is comfortable for me. I was wondering if anyone in the Newbury, Reading, Basingstoke and even up to Wantage area would be up for a test fitting before I commit to traveling for some viewings. Mainly want to check legroom, pedal spacing and the not clipping the steering column with my toes. Would really appreciate it, Cheers

I’ve a few bits and bobs getting powder coated and when I dropped them off the owner said that the OEM look would probably be semi gloss. Does this sound right to you guys or should it be full gloss? Cheers, Chris.

Has anyone got a cheap alternative to this part? I had to brake mine removing my bumper and now need to replace it and don’t want to pay that much for such a silly little part. Cheers, Chris.

Has anyone bought a lightweight flywheel separate & fitted it with this clutch kit I’ve purchased?
