  1. Hi fellow 300ZX owners,

I think I may have a bit of an unusual car.

    It has:

    1. A single exhaust (drainpipe, sounds good. My late father when I was looking to buy the car said it sounded like a racing car)
    2. Bilstein shocks all round
    3. Hasemi PROT-GT 17" 3 piece split rims, rears are I think 10", fronts 8.5"

I've scanned every picture I can find of 300's and found none that have any of these.
    Am I missing something?

    Many thanks, Rex

Hi Rex,  There are a lot of Z32's with single exhaust conversions, although they are less popular than the Dual setup as most don't like the look of an empty recess on one side of the bumper.  I love the sound of a single setup though.

The Wheels are more unique, very nice.  Bilstein dampers are more popular on German marques, but not as common on the Z.

      Hi Yowser,

      Thank you for the feedback.

My eldest son is a mechanic and helps keep my 300 on the road.
Without him I wouldn't have it still, he's saved me a fortune.

He also didn't like the view of it from the back and nagged me to change so I bought a twin exhaust and had it fitted when I had the gearbox changed to manual. I did not like the new sound compared to the single so I had it changed back quick. I've considered remodelling the rear bumper to smooth off over the gap left by the missing exhaust or by having a dummy matching 2nd outlet made.

When I draw my pension I intend to get mine some skilled tlc.

      Regards, Rex

  2. Thank you AndrewG and RichardS for the info. Do you know of anywhere else a bit further north as I'm in South Yorkshire and Bristol is a long way to get my AC sorted? I will have to go to PowerZed if theres nowhere closer that you know of. Many thanks, Rex
  3. Hi, I have a 1993 TT Auto 2+2 thats been converted to manual. No problems there. What I have issue with is I've had the car for 12 years and to date never really bothered with needing the air con cooling function. Due to health reasons I now need it working. I've been told that the system needs parts replacing so that it can work with the latest stuff they use to regas them. Has anyone had experience of going through this process and knows what needs changing and some idea of the cost to get it done please? Many thanks, Rex
  4. Hi everyone,

I'm wanting to get the air con working in my 300TT but I've been told that I may need all the seals changing before I can have it regassed with the current stuff they use.

Does anyone have any experience of getting a 300 regassed and if so what did you have to have changed and by who please?

    Many thanks,

    Rex

  5. Hi Luke, Can you tell me what style and condition the rear spoiler is if you still have it please? Some pictures would be great to show style and any bad bits that may be on it. Many thanks, Rex
  6. Hi guys, I was having this issue, getting my Z through the MOT emissions test. My son is a mechanic & MOT tester (recently qualified) and even he didn't know the path through the test for our cars. Mine is a 1993 import. Because its an import then they have no data to test it against. When the emissions test fail if they follow the instructions correctly they should then do a NON-CAT test which it passes easily. I know someone else with a 300 who has his own garage and he said exactly the same thing. You can see the charts that direct the MOT'er as oto how to test our cars on the VOSA site and that's what I showed my son. He spoke with a very experienced MOT'er and garage owner and he agreed with what I found on the VOSA site. If you cant find it and still having problems just let me know and I'll dig out the exact sheets/links for you. Also mine was running normal unleaded and low spec plugs so I've just found out and it still passed. Rex
  7. My son is a mechanic (Handy) and at his place they connect the regas machine to the car and it then does the whole job fully automatic. 1st it extracts all the old gas and oil, pressure tests the system and only if the pressure test is good will it then fill the system with gas. I had them regas my Mondeo. Shame they don't have the adaptors for doing my 300 as I need that doing too. I did go to a local place that did not have the machine that does it automatically so it may be worth asking what system the use. Rex
  8. Where and when are you currently thinking of meeting up or am I too late guys?
