Hallo assembled gurus. I'm just checking in advance of a service because the J imports have a slightly different schedule to the UK cars (something to do with miles vs km). Since I bought my Z in Aug 99, I've had the following service intervals: 44,000mi 71,300km A service Aug 99 (incs timing belt) 51,500mi 82,700km C service Feb 00 56,500mi 91,000km C service Jun 00 (mistake but there you go) (incs spark plugs) 62,000mi 100,000km A service Dec 00 67,300mi 108,000km B service May 01 72,700mi 117,000km A service Nov 01 79,000mi 126,700km C service Apr 02 next scheduled is 85,000mi 137,000km which should be the official 140,000km service. …

I am After getting a new exhaust for my non turbo 300zx,,because it is a 1990 is it true that you can do away with the cat?? Is the gas sensor before the cat/in the cat /after the cat? And could any body tell me what the 2 pipes that go into the exhaust just before the cat are for,,,they go on from either side and look like they come from the engine,,,,i take it i would have to get an exhaust that had inlets for these unknown pipes. I cant get cat back exhausts because there is a small hole just before the cat :-(( Could i just cut the cat out and replace it with a straight through pipe and keep the existing exhausts? cheers guys [This message has be…

Lovely 1993 import. Manuel 5 speed, silver, new look velour sports interior. 4 brand new tyres and a C service just done. Pics available on request or look in my ride http://www.300zx.co.uk/rides/import_ant/media.jpg All the normal things you'd expect to find on an imported Z. New suspension all round. New type grill... Infact this car is a non modified original. Has to go because of house renavations etc! Based in north Hampshire (Yateley) £7200. From time to time, some sick perve sends people here porn spam. Since I changed to Outlook (sorry) I get mountains of complete spam from tiresome no-brains (no I don't want to join a program, rip DVDs or see "stuff". Your mortgage rates in the US are cr*p, my parts are quite big enough for me and the missus, thank you and on the rare occasions where the opportunity arises, my performance is alarmingly adequate (assuming I haven't got to the third bottle of Nuits St Wogga Wogga)). If you're as fed up as I am, you might like to visit www.mailwasher.com (which gets 5 stars from .net mag) or www.cloudmark.com for their SpamNet blacklist stuff (4 stars). I par…

Went for a drive and my conclusion is..... The back end is really squdgy. The front is now tight and I think that the ride is smoother. May have been that the original bushes where that bad. The responce from the wheel is much much faster and more precise. But not the back end feels really bad, lagging behind round corners. Did any one else find that too? Also any one know how much to a rear set of polly bushes will be and how much for some one to put on? Stuart

All information below is my account of having a policy with the Insurance Factory My Z is a 1991 Twin Turbo 2+2 import Following recommendation from people on here I contact Gareth at the Insurance Factory. (NOTE - is was my decision to take a policy with Insurance Factory - hence I place no blame on anyone here or 300zx.co.uk) I ask for a classic "second car policy" like the type Glen(Senna) got. Told that is fine and that as its a classic car policy my 5 years No Claims can stay on my second car. I pay my £180 deposit and arrange to pay £71 per month. I recive a cover note valid from the 30th April to 15th June Nearing the 10th of June I en…

Hey people, I'm not a zed owner, I've got a modded mk1 mondeo, but I'm saving for one, furiously The wife's argument against it includes the following... 1. Insurance - quotes around £1,800 FC, I pay £1200 for the mondeo anyway. 2. Petrol costs - what sort of mpg do TTs and non-T get? I do 40 miles to and from work a day, most of it free flowing A-road. 3. Breakdown costs. 4. I'd attract too many women. 5. I made 4 up. Theres plenty of good info on insurance on the forum, so could I have some input on the petrol costs? Cheers Pete

Now I know I am an ageing suit (and in deference to Vinz the Godfather not quite as senior as him) but I have been lurching around the marketing and advertising world for too long. One of the things we learn from bitter experience is that "knocking copy" rarely, if ever, works. What is knocking copy? That's when the ads for Brand A say "don't buy Brand B because it's cr*p". And in retaliation, Brand B says "don't buy Brand A because it's cr*p". And so on. What happens? The customer: a) starts to dislike both brands - i.e. they're both cr*p so I won't listen to either b) gets turned off listening to the messages cos they're depressing and who likes listening …
