I can't find any. I want to see what they look with one, as I think I want to get one.

Anyone know a link to any pics ?

I have to agree, the only cars that look good with them are RX7's.

There's a 100NX driving round Swindon with one that is higher than the roof & wider than the car LMFAO Keeps me entertained wink.gif

How about this one????

Maybe the sexiest i have found.

Also THE most sexiest wheels bar none. Volk Racing Challenge. Hollow spoke forgeg magnesium. I'll just retire into a corner with a print out of that pic and a box of Kleenex........

Hope this helps

Robert.

I only use the brakes so I can accelerate all over again.

http://bagpuss.swan.ac.uk/dunk300zx/ For awesome car & bike mpegs.

Tahnx guys .....think it's just the height of them above the boot that makes them look wrong - also big side pieces.

Might look into getting one with shortened legs - and twin blade I reckon look best.

On second thoughts, a Z looks cool in a slightly understated way - a classy appearance, almost modest; but clearly displaying awesome power and performance. It's a bit like choosing clothes.

A racing spoiler makes it look more like a Lambo, but the rest of the car isn't similarly styled, unless you add a full in-yer-face body kit. That's just a different look.

I don't like the F40 type spoilers, but think the rear end needs something !

IF you dont like the stock spoiler, racing spoilers, or F40 style spoilers then you are very limited lol. Thought of simply removing the stock spoiler, the car looks much nicer without it, lack300 has done this, and the back of his car looks sweet. I really dont think the downforce provided by the stock spoiler is of any real significance.

I found another one, which doesnt actually look that bad...

Acutally the rear spoiler does more than you think, especially with a 2+2. Reading on TT.net, some one took off the stock spoiler and then found that the rear spoiler did do something. At 60+mph he said that the rear end was very light and didnt feel solid.

But saying that when I took my rear spoiler off to change it, the it did look good with out it, but it gave off a feeling that somethign was missing, if you catch my drift confused.gif

Clarkey -that car looks well cool. The alloy wheels look especially good. Anyone know what they are?

I need a rear view of that car. I think front views are more flattering to the rear end when it has a spoiler on.

Daytona Japan Racing Wing

I like the wingless look like on lack300's Z myself.

Regarding down force - when reading up on the development of the Z32, Nissan determined that the Twin Turbo did need the extra downforce of a rear wing.

I'am hoping to fit an adjustable rear under wing when I'm ready to stick my Z in the body shop:

Z32CSAtRUD.jpg

Similar to this, only with a larger area and an adjustable wing section(just need someone good with metal fabrication to make it).

Trev

CheerZ. What does an adjustable rear under wing do ?!!

I like the 1st non-racing one, but like the racing ab-flug one -nice small side pieces.

I think they look better with the existing spoiler left on, but I would want to get a replacemnt to the rubber stock one with ballast weight.

Nelson - take a look at the back of the Ferrari 360:

design_main1.jpg

It has two rear Venturis(under tunnels) which suck the car downward due to the creation area of low pressure(also has a flat underside which helps).

This is the affect I'm after. Not to sure on the details yet but by adding an adjustable wing to the venturi you maybe able to adjust the amount of downforce for the rear(I think the front has zero lift on a standard Z32?).

Trev

That Ferrari looks shyte compared to a 300 !!

CCCCOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLL !!!!!!!!!!!

Regarding down force.

I took the stock TT '92 spoiler off, Filled the holes and installed a Nissan perspex part with brake light in to the recess left.

The whole tailgate was re-painted and looks cool.

The car has been driven at 140mph and does not have any problems with road holding ( hence i'm still alive and the car's been like this for over a year / 12,000miles ).

I'd been taught at school that positive/negative aerodynamics only come into effect at 100mph+, so I think the 60mph figure cant be true.

A lot of people have stopped me and commented on the car's neat modern looks.

Another point is the Jap domestic NA has a spoiler as an optional part. However the NA will still do a close top speed, and Nissan have'nt been too worried about those drivers have they?

Why?

Because the car can hold the road with out it I think.

I agree the choice of affordable spoilers is disapointing.

Maybe because the NA hasnt got HICAS - which is supposed to be able to enable the TT to perform very high speed maneuvers(120mph+ lane changes etc).

This is a really common misconception. I fly a paraglider which has a top speed of around 30 mph. It creates the greatest lift at around 15 mph.

Aerodynamics come into effect the moment there is airspeed.

Aerodynamics come into effect the moment they are designed to. biggrin.gif

Nah - aerodynamics are about the movement of air. If the air is moving then there's aerodynamics.

Paul Bailey Design may be able to help you?

[This message has been edited by Geoff (edited 02-09-2002).]

ive driven my car at 160+ twice ,with and without the rear spoiler, believe me its only after 140+ that you need the spoiler!

think ive got the standard paul bailey spoiler on at the moment,im also in production with carbon rear racing spoilers, should be ready in 2 weeks, jay

I suspect the stock spoiler is designed to create maximum downforce with minimum drag. That's probably why it is so low. The air which is compressed and fast moving over the top of the car will be pulled down the rear window and 'hit' the spoiler. A high-level spoiler probably creates more downforce, but will probably increase drag significantly.

I would have thought a spoiler would be 'active' at fairly low speeds, the 'problem' with the 300ZXTT is that it is a fairly heavy car, so has plenty of downforce from it's mass. But the power going through the rear wheels is prety high, even on a stock model, so extra downforce under certain conditions is probably very useful, and I would have thought that there was significant downforce even at only 60mph.

jaylox - what design is the carbon spoiler you are making ? Like the ab-flug ones?
