General Discussions - 300ZX Related

Hi All, Can anyone reccommend a good mechanic/shop in West London/Middlesex/M4/M40. I need all my belts changing (I have the belts from my last Z, but wrote it off the day before the were due to be fitted by Nissan) The belts I have are for a 1992 car, but my new Z is a 1991 - any difference? I would also like to change plugs/oil/clean throttle bodies/TPS etc. any maybe flush AT? Depends on cost - I'm NOT loaded! Anyone know of anyone who is 1. competent and 2. REASONABLY priced. Some bas*ard thieving shits decided to attempt to break in to my Zed early this morning. Thing is, the rocks they were planning on chucking through the window obviously weren't good enough, so they've peeled back the door skin around the lock Thing is, they didnt even take anything, which makes me feel even worse, but the boot was open which makes me think its someone that heard I was planning a big install, but didn't know none of it was in yet - they didn't even take the headunit which i had stupidly left the faceplate on overnight (never again), or the front components!! Hi, Brain was whirring over tonight, and just had a thought with all the problems on the forum with detonation. Is the fuel pump really up to the requirements, it seems most of us modify everything else on the cars apart from the fuel pump. Is maybe a 10 year old pump really up to the spec to pumping fuel to a tuned up Z? Just a novice mechanic with insomnia! Ideas on a postcard! Mark

spotted in maltby with a plate 97v99 what a funny reg plate both front and back??????? well if its a newbie on ere let me know as i live not far from you!!also a blue zed spotted in rotherham(non standard paint)kitted big wheels etc,,,also a white one spotted heading towards swallownest also had a kit on,a round arch type on rear arches and non standard wheels and heres me thinking these are rare anyone??? --neil--

Anyone got them - I know scoops has them from when he bought the car. I reckon they look cool on a Z. How much does it cost to do ? What is done exactly ? Is it reversible? Where is the best place to buy it ? Who thinks it looks cool ? Do you have to be a drug dealer to get it done ? Can you do it yourself ? Any technical explanations of how it works ? What exactly is it called ? Tinted ? Smoked ?

I'm looking to get a PDA and am probably going for an ipaq 3870 because it has bluetooth built in. I want to use my home broadband connection to surf on the PDA when I'm elsewhere in the house. Does anyone who knows about these things have any comment on whether this is a good choice or whether there are alternatives I should be considering ? They all seem pretty similar from what I've seen. And does anyone know a good cheap source of PDAs - plus a bluetooth adaptor for my home PC ? Thanks as always Dave

hi guys just a quickie ,i need some glass for my nissan which i sourced from courtesy nissan, namely a driver side quarterlight and passenger door glass. they say it is usa spec and not sure if it will fit , any experts out their who know.i have a swb , jap spec 300 on a 90 plate. any help appreciated, thanks steve.

Now she's loosing bl!"£$ s water. Not vast amounts, say about a cup full over a 50 mile return trip. Water also bubbles a bit when you blip the accerator (both radiator tops off). Doesn't seem to be much pressure in the coolant system either since I can easily compress the hoses with my fingers. According to ConZult the temperature is rock steady at 80C when warmed up. Could this be the water pump or those pesky little short hoses. Problem is I can't see any water dripping when she's idling on my driveway. This has got me mega worried. Available now,these are Cybercrafts own design they force the air through the rad instead of it escaping over the top,so they will allow the car to run at a cooler temp. Have no idea how much they are,my car was used just to make sure they fit.mail him at smithy@manx.net

Drivers side (RHD) top link is hosed - anybody have one lying around that is good - available for a reasonable sum? Perhaps if you have fitted a camber kit recently!! Any help appreciated - MOT [due] next week! AndyGP

Hi, On mj Jspec zx, i have a rocker type switch next to the digital clock (which by the way does not work, are these easy to fix? as it would be nice to have this working!) There is no picture or label next to the switch... Any ideas what it does? Thanks Barry
