hi people, 1)Someone used Pi springs for lowering the Z (-, they 35 mm) ? Any comments on those, are much cheaper than eibachs anyway. 2)Does anyone know where to get the eibachs in the Uk, as they are unavailable in belgium and the postage rates would be around 150usd for the set! 3)Anyone used a coilover system ( like the one from Ground Control or SGP Racing )on the standard or tokico unadjustable dampers ?Lowering option would be anywhere from 0 to 2.5 inch. Price is reasonable ,around 400 usd. What is the opinion on this method for lowering the car? 4) Se Engineering charges 250 pounds (!!)for their springs (-25 mm front, 30 mm rear ), quoted in their…

Hi All, I just read AndyP's TT.net link about the coil pack wiring harness - it doesn't seem to make a lot of sense - Pulsar harness with 5 connectors ??? Z31 harness - ??? what's that all about? Which one should I be ordering and how am I supposed to replace it? Do I leave the existing harness installed but unplugged and connect the Pulsar one instead?? Has anybody done this?? Cheers! RobH

Fitted some NGK Iridium IX plugs last night - f*ckin brilliant!! OK - so I've only done 15 miles on them but response was better, power was noticeably up and allegedly they improve fuel economy and last longer than standard. I reckon this is the best upgrade you can do, saves money in the long term, better for your engine and no insurance premium headaches - GAH! why didn't I do it sooner!!! Cheers!!! RobH

Hi Im thinking about upgradeing my alloys to a set of 18 inch rims and tyres. does anybody know how much my existing wheels and tyres are worth. there standard rims of a jap import 300zx NA. in very good condition and tyres have less than 5000 miles on them cheers

Went to a cracking car show on Sunday in Harlech. Weather was bang on. Met up with Jason who was on the forum ages ago but sold his PC (probably best thing he could've done LMFAO) who comes from Barmouth and a mate of Tony LACK300. He's got a well sorted import Twin Tub with Aston Martin brakes...oh and a rather clean engine bay unlike mine! About 200 or so cars there which wasn't bad for the first year. CruiseNorthWales were there and I took some nice pics but I can't sort them out yet. Only two Zeds mine and Jasons which was nice as they received a fair bit of attention. Out in the Z today, all of a sudden I hear a hissing sound then the air from the aircon gets quite warm. Turns out I have a leak somewhere I took the Z to an aircon "specialist", who tell me I have a leak, but cannot trace it because the pipe is down the side of the engine. In the process they remove the intake/boost pipes from the passenger side to try to locate the leak. To compound things, they never replaced the one leading to the throttle body properly, so I had no boost driving home while I had the pipe off I cleaned the throttle bodies, temp sensor, TPS etc- now the Z runs like new Anyway, I digress- does anyone know a place competent enough to sort my a…

Went ot have a look at a Z on Monday. It looked great, sounded great and drove great. I was a happy man. Just to be on the safe side I got the AA to do a vehicle inspection. Got a phone call tonight and it wasn't good news. The car had a list of things wrong with it longer than my arm. I'm now a broken man without a Z. So, if you are about to buy a Z and can't get someone off here to look your car over I suggest the AA. Not cheap but it has just saved me a world of hurt.

Guys I have been thinking that it would be much better to replace the temperature sensor plug instead of cleaning it. Mike Feeney can get 280ZX injector plugs which probably fit for 7.50 plus vat or I found this website with a quick release version http://www.racetep.com/injcon.html Has anyone used a 280ZX injector plug to replace the temp sensor plug? If so how did it go?

So where do you all recomend this sort of work gets carried out? Also what sort of prices should i be paying? I guess a decent manual box with all kit would be about 700 bar but what sort of labour cost and timescale should i expect? Also surely the diff is different so how would this affect the car and also the vacuum lines coming off the balance bar are different on an auto than a manual as are the turbos and cams which i understand are set up for low-mid-range torque on an auto. Also if i change the box i can still only run 14.5 psi (1 bar) safely so i might aswell change the turbos hadent i? God knows im confusing myself now! PLEASE I NEED HELP! …

getting along with my gearbox conversion nicely now, but one question.... Exactly what do I have to do on the electrical side of things? I've got hold of the correct alternator harness and will be fitting that tonight. As far as I can tell, some work needs doing do that the reverse lights show, and some thing to do with the clutch. Nissan were just starting to get the parts for my belt and pump when they noticed that one of the radiator rubber mounts is after totally disintegrating. Any of you guys/gals have one or two of these?? Much appreciated Roy

i ve just fitted an avc-r & safc to my car on sunday, it seems to be working fine, however i dont get a throtle signal or an injector signal. all the other functions seem to working okay. ive done the sensor check that is recomended in the instruction and i get a reading of 1.9mV or something. any ideas would be a great help cheers aki
