At the show on Saturday I had the good fortune to have a good look round the engine bay of a Sapphire Cossie and man! We really are up against it aren't we? Nice inline four staring right at you with a fcuk off turbo slapped on the side for convenience! I bet you could swap the turbo out on one of them in a lunch break FFS. One mother Bailey dump valve not TWO! Not saying I would rather have one but when you try to do anything on our cars you just feel like crying. Suppose it's similar with the Skylark though as their engine bays are much more workable. Oh well such is life eh? ------------------ "New York's …

Had the HICAS arms done at the weekend by Phil at C&S Wood and what a difference thats made to the handling of the car! I had a puncture on the way up and he even offered to have it fixed while the car was in - Top notch service and am well pleased with the work done. I will certainly be going back again IF anything else needs doing!!

Hi All, I put Iridium IX plugs in my car the other day and was chuffed with them. I've got a deal with the guy I bought them from and will be an agent for him in this country. Just doing Z32 plugs to start off with. Sorry this is such a shameless plug (no pun intended) but I'll be able to do them for about £50 a set of six plus postage. Think most places are charging £80+ LMK if anyone's interested. Cheers! RobH

After 2 years of taking trains into Manchester, I decided I want to start taking my car for a number of reasons. The trains are packed and I never get to sit down and 45mins of standing up is not a good way to start the day, and they are dangerously packed in the evening. Many a time I have been stranded at another trian station because with out explination the train ends service there. They are late and now always on strike. So I was thinking of getting a cheap runaround just to go Uni and back. I would take the Z but its about £10 a day in petrol, and out of about a dozen times I have taken it, I have 1 attempt at taking my alloys only 2 nuts holding my …

I need both sides of a detonation sensor connector (the connector at the back of the plenum that connects the sensor to the ECU). I want to try bypassing the damn sensor to ensure that this is the source of my lack of boost woes but intend to do the soldering well away from the car

Junior ICE installer here! I installed an active sub over the weekend so had to run a live from the battery, through the inner Emperor Ming above the ECU etc. through to the ar$e end. Right so now I may need to install an amp for the rear speakers I plan to put in at some point. Q. Am I correct in thinking that now that I have a live feed from the battery that is it? That now I just distribute other live feeds that I may need from that cable? TIA Good, Good people! ------------------ "I love to go down to the schoolyard and watch all the little children jump up and down and run around yelling and screaming. They don't kn…

Hi all - my first posting having been scanning this forum for a few weeks.... When cold starting, she fires up OK, idle speed goes high, but as soon as I pull away (i.e. use the accelerator) the car seems to lurch, die, accelerate intermittently - like the mixture is all to pot ! :confused Once the engine is warm the problem disappears. Any ideas ? What should I check first ? Hope someone can help
