did mine yesterday.

Use carb cleaner, top stuff, I doubt that WD40 would touch the crap thats in there redface.gif, also the oils etc. would not do the engine much good at all.

cheers clarkey,

idling is shite on my motor.... wink.gif

well, make sure you clean out the idle air valve while ur there too, ive just been informed by mr duff this will help a lot if u got a dodgy idle, its on the rear passenger side of the plenum, remove the pipe, (dont ask me which one i aint found mine yet) and give it a healthy dose of carb cleaner.

what would you call a 'good carb. cleaner' then?.

even the cheap ones do the job. Use that and a toothbrush and you'll be laughing.

Vijay

Careful when using a toothbrush - as some cleaners can melt the plastic and you end up with toothbrush bristles in your plenum!!

Spray the cleaner you got on the toothbrush

first just to check for a reaction.

I got some wooden handled small brushes which are quite good.

cheers fella's,

cleaned them out propa! but theres not much difference?? im still getting that rough idle, the whole motor judders slightly!!! gonna do the plugs next....

regards jaz

did you reset the ECU? You say the whole car is juddering, sure you haven;t got a misfire?

Isn't WD40 silicone based rather than oil based ? I'm not sure it could lead to problems - petrol will burn any deposits off in no time. My thoughts would be that if WD40 can clean it then go for it !

hmm, ok then, excuse my lack of knowledge of WD40, I wouldnt wanna use it put it that way smile.gif

WD40 will reduce the chances of your garden gate squeeking so must be good on a Z at 7000rpm wink.gif

If your Z is juddering then check you have bolted the wheels on properly wink.gif biggrin.gif
