Man we have it harder than Ford owners!

At the show on Saturday I had the good fortune to have a good look round the engine bay of a Sapphire Cossie and man!

We really are up against it aren't we? Nice inline four staring right at you with a fcuk off turbo slapped on the side for convenience!

I bet you could swap the turbo out on one of them in a lunch break FFS.

One mother Bailey dump valve not TWO!

Not saying I would rather have one but when you try to do anything on our cars you just feel like crying. biggrin.gif

Suppose it's similar with the Skylark though as their engine bays are much more workable.

Oh well such is life eh?

Here here...........nothing is simple on our cars at all!!!!!!!

If I had spent the money I have spent on my zed on a cossie I would have fastest cossie in uk!!!!

Yes but Cossies just look like Sierras. wink.gif

Dont forget its the same chassis that they use for the XR-4x4 which is a big 2.8 V6. Any one turboed on of them? That would be great to see how it goes.

Stuart

too true...

as an ex-cossie owner of over 4 years, the engines are a piece of piss to work on as everything is so accessible. Adding another 100bhp to the standard 204-220bhp is only a case of £500 pound.....and for a car that weighs around 1275kgs you've got a good power/weight ratio.

Mine was a very mild 'stage 1' tune and it'd see 160mph on the clock, outrunned a couple of imprezas etc, surprised a few superbikes.

Looks? Looks are purely subjective; I quite liked them with the right mods, but I do think that my Z is much nicer to look at and drive.

Hi Timmy!!

One small correction biggrin.gif smile.gif wink.gif, Cosworth engines are inline fours, not flat fours (Subaru).

Hope this helps if and when you come to rebuild one of the aforementioned engines and find the pistons are not where you thought they would be wink.gif
