Jerky Ride

I'm having a problem with my z in that when im driving the car is like "jerking" especially going uphill. I've checked the usual things oil, fuses, etc. All seem to be ok. Anybody have this problem before. Please help lads. I'm a bit worried about driving the motor. Could it be low oil in the gearbox???

I am sure there is a warning light for low gear oil.

What gear are you in while going up hill? Is it like a mis fire judder?

It is usually in any gear. I'm not sure whether it could be misfire because at high speed its fine but can happen slightly. Could it be the fuel pump/injectors. I did replace the fuel pump not so long back?

Difficult to tell what your problem is, but...

Push down all the clips on the coils and clean the Throttle position sensor connector.

Also sounds like good case of AAC valve gasket leak.

I have a similar problem. Around 2500-3000, my NA engine will start jerking, undoubtedly damaging the mounts. Since the intake valves are variable, I can only imagine that, at some point, the valve timing is being adjusted, perhaps back and forth. The more I think about this possibillity, the less likely it seems... but just a thought.

I got jerky behavior from from an 87 Celica years ago because the engine was loose in its mounts.
