If Im running 11psi of boost already and am about to install a HKS EVC3 Boost controller should I somehow work out how to get boost back down to 8psi (standard??) before I fit it? If so where do I start looking?

As far as I understand a BOV and Dump Valve are the same - just spelt differently. A Recirc Valve is what the 300 uses - right? A recirc valve is used because the AFM monitors it - now in the Supra You could get away with a DV upgrade from a recirc as long as you used dual piston DV. Would this apply to the Zed?. If I get 2 DV/BOVs I presume I just replace the recirc valve and block up the recirc intake.

Im looking to get approx 400bhp from my z. What mods would be the best taking into account the following: UK spec TT 92 manual. Car is my only mode of transport so needs to be reliable-i travel approx 45 miles a day to and from work. Budget is limited as most of my money goes on day to day running. Car is stock at the moment. Was contemplating induction kit,de-cat pipes and boost upgrade. Would de cat pipes present a problem with turbo seals? Have heard that the reduced back pressure allows oil to bypass the seals-is this right? All help and advice greatly appreciated.

I am VERY shortly getting a HKS EVC 3 (Thanks to Robstor) and a GReddy Full auto turbo timer (which I already have) - Now unfortunately when I had the turbo timer in my supra some little scroats down the street decided they wanted it. I want to put these where the ashtray is or something but I need the ashtray flip lid to work so I can cover it at night etc. Any ideas on how to or other locations. Cheers

Happy new year to you all. Now to the problem. The last two times I've driven me Z the gearchange has become very stiff after driving for about 10-15 miles. It's fine when cold so obviously temp related. At first I thought I might have some air in the clutch line as I changed the slave cylinder a few months back, but if I stop, turn the car off, depress the clutch and select gears it's still stiff and quite sticky, i.e if you select slowly the stick moves in jolts. This makes me think it's more box related or on the lever pivot. Anybody experienced anything similar or offer possible causes ? Cheers Robin

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33591&item=2451829707 They seem like they are a slightly different design around the struts, so they might not have the fitment probs of the Courtesey ones!

Does anybody know the best place to drill or preferably use an existing grommet in the bulkhead. I have to run a fairly hefty power cable to an amp in the boot and its a straight live connection. I dont know if there is anywhere under the dash I can take it from - the only thing I can think of is the battery as the cable is already fused. Ta

What do you guys use to get all the grease and crud from the engine bay paintwork? I just tried some Isopropyl Alcohol and it hasnt touched it - then I tried hot soapy water and a green scouring (soft) type cloth - still barely touches it. I wanna clean the engine bay paintwork and the engine itself (Especially the top silver manifold). Ta

Right, abit of advice if you will. Having finished the heater matrix, the second on my to do list this week is the bushes. I have a full set of poly bushes to go on and have two options: A: D.I.Y., looks like a load of grief, and have the problem of getting the car off the deck and leaving it there while the job goes on or B: Pay someone to do it for me Thoughts?

Hi, First of all HAPPY NEW YEAR  Secondly, I saw this car in the ad's at piston heads: Pistonheads Link I asked the bloke a few questions, e.g. what miles, why selling and what parts replaced. Seems pretty descent, and I have only seen 2 private sellers selling less than £4,000 (in about 6 months) - so not too sure, as I generally expect descent UK ones to be around the £5K mark. Is this too good to be true?

I'm in the process of removing the sump with the engine still in the car. But in order to remove the driver's side "big metal plate jobby" (I think it's called a gusset but that usually means stained crotch parts to me) I've got to get the oil filter mounting bracket off first by the look of it. Has anyone ever removed this and/or knows what the best way to do it is? There seems to be a waste gate actuator gubbins in the way of two of the bolts. Any advise appreciated. Cheers

Got a new battery the other day. The bloke in the shop said " Is it the same battery as the UK spec?" And i said yes! I have a N/A import and obviously the UK spec is Twin Turbo only! I didnt think this would be much of a problem. However as ive been driving about ive noticed the volt meter slowly dropping in the car - to as low as 10 volts at one point - but when i revved it, it would go back up to just over 12volts! Got in the car today and its too flat to start the car! How do i check if its the wrong battery or whether its not charging properly? Thanks for your help ;)

Hi all, I have no central locking at the moment and have a relay on order. However, I noticed today that the inside catch locking mechanism doesn't work. When I turn the key in the lock, the internal catch just doesn't move. Is there a chance that the central locking works on this catch rather than the lock? Thanks, Ice

Oh what a wonderful year!!  My car has been bitten by the kerb monster. I wasn't even hoofing it. Wet road and diesel. No body damage visible however my near side rear is at 45 degrees, and the alloy is totally shattered. Off for guesstimate on Friday afternoon. No problem in picking car up from accident onto low loader, but because they had to drive it off at my home made an awful noise. I'm hoping they've not buggered the diff. Made a separate claim against RAC just incase. As the car is an import, do you guys ( and gals) have any idea of repair cost. Initial reaction from insurer was write off. If this is the case is it worth me…
