does everyone owning a tt auto seem to have a sweet spot on thier accelerator, I only ask because rather than pressing foot to floor fast when wanting to overtake, if i lightly press the pedal it seems different?, even when sat in traffic, the slightest press in the right place sends me hurtling forward. just curious if other peoples feel like this? cheers good people jim.

Looking for advise: My driver side windscreen jet leaks every time I accelerate hard or brake. Nothing major, just enough to wet the bonnet. But the passenger side is fine, no leaking no matter how hard the breaking, and both work fine for wetting the windscreen, although they are a bit week. Something wrong or normal on these older cars? Is there something I can do to stop it leaking? Oh, its a 92 jap import, in case that matters. Cheers

I read on here a bit back that the price of shockers wasnt too bad, I just got quoted £750 for the rear ones. After the guy scraped me off the floor, I told him to stick his shockers where the sun dont shine. I have tried a few other places and the lowest I can find is £500. Maybe someone could point me in the direction of somewhere that will do my shockers without sucking air in through there teeth? Cheers Rod

Well, I've mailed Jeff about this, but I'm reluctant to *keep* bothering him with foolish newbie questions when I might as well ask them here ;) My NA Zed is running on five cylinders - when this first happened the cat overheat light came on for a bit, but after easing off it disappeared, and while limping home up the M1 I only saw it once more. The engine smoothed out by the end of the journey, was fine the next day, but since then has been running on five constantly. ECU diag gives code 55. Oh, it might also be worth mentioning that I've been running *very* rich recently. From a search, and from Jeff's advice, it's a dodgy connector or spark plug somewhere, ri…

Do the aftermarket cat back systems still employ a 'centre box' (resonator?) or do they just pipe straight back to the back boxes. If they don't does it make the exhast much louder than stock.

Anyone got one of these? A real (old type?) one that is, not a ConZult. I've just spent ages pulling the thing apart to get to a dodgy connector... put it all back together and now it simply says: HT-OS V1.04 Error 102 Bad directory Boy, am I in trouble!?! It looks like there's a reset button, which doesn't seem to do much. Is there some sort of procedure necessary after the battery (the on-board lithium one) has been replaced? Any help would be useful. Yeah, I've checked all the 'orrible ribbon cables.

Hi, The zed has reputedly a problem with the rear cylinders overheating! This is alledgedly down to too much of the water channel flashings left in the block, from the original casting! They don't let coolant flow to the rear cylinders easily and can be removed if you have an engine rebuild!! Also problems with the plenum design and heat from the turbos can mean the charge air is hotter at the rear cylinders! So just out of interest chuk down what cylinder failed on your motor?

Hi, I have got the stuck key in ignition problem - it has been getting worse - now it is permentley stuck! I have got the cover underneath the dash off but i am struggling to get the steering column off (see pic!) beacuse the case is fouling on the key! I have taken a shot from under neath looking at the ignition system - i am assuming the white block is the bit i am interested in. I have read after searching the forum that i need to jam the mechanism - somehow... Anyone know how to get the steering colum cover off better or exactly how i am ment to jam the mechnism to stop it happening again? Cheers Barry

I've just been told that to replace the speed sensor on a TT the garage have had to drop part of the autobox. It's a free job to me so I'm not worried but it does sound unlikely to me? Can one of you more intellignet types confirm.

Is there any quick and easy way to tell if the ECU has been modded? Im thinking of getting this done as it would then take car to a stage 3. Thing is I think it may be done already. Im running 9 or 11psi (I think its 11psi) and its quick as hell, but would like to know if its been chipped or chipping owuld give me even more. Ta

Hi guys I need help. I have an intermittent fault shorting my interior lamps. It causes the luggage and cabin lamp to come on. I have tried disconnecting both doors and the tail lock wire feeds, which has had no effect. I've now traced the relay beside the rear seat, and disconnected that but I still have the same problem. I've tried to find the fuse box (to the right of the driver's footwell) without success, and it's now p*ssing me right off. I have a remote alarm with my locks rendered useless with a key. If the lights are stuck on I'm unable to set the alarm and lock the car. I have to jump back in and cruise around until it goes off, and gingerly return to pa…

Last night going up to the Mascrat Manor meet, my car started to overheat (went up to about 115 degrees) then temp went back down again. Also I had no heat from the erm... heater, despite having it set at 30 degrees. At the meet I checked the rad... it needed some coolant, not loads, so I topped it up with water. On the way home it overheated bigtime. Temp guage was showing >140 degrees:eek: Just managed to get the car home in one piece. Undid the rad bleed screw, and much steam emerged:rolleyes: This morning, filled it and bled it - drove to work, again no heat from the vents and again started to overheat. Filled and bled it again and now its fine…
