Over the months I have read loads of replies from people suggesting checking the electrical contacts of loads of different areas, most of them I have not a clue where they are or what they do. It would be so helpfull to myself and others who are new to Zeds if someone could post a photo of the engine bay with arrows pointing to all of these contacts and switches and contacts that should be checked once in a while for corrosion. Does anyone have such a photo, or could make one up. It would be much appreciated by myself (and lots of others I imagine) Thanks John

I have cleaned the throttle bodies, but sometimes my idle speed (engine completely warmed up) does not fall to its normal 700 rpm. Instead it stays at about 1000, sometimes falling to 700 or 800 if the traffic lights stay on red for a long time. Has anyone got any suggestions? Thanks John

Hi Folks, Im planning to do some major upgrading on my Twin Turbo in the very near future, turbos, fuel system etc etc Thing is, im a bit stuck on ECU, is there only the option of a replacement chip like SE or JWT or are there any plug in Management units that I can jack a PC onto and tune myself as and when things change? Seems a bit silly to have to get a new chip every time the setup of the car changes :S Maybe im missing something obvious here, anyone car to put me straight? Thanks Dan

OK guys, I think this co-incides with the cold weather, but on cold start-up my vaccum is only reading around -10 psi, and then slowly goes to -18/-20 after a few minutes of idling.. (where it always used to be) If I start to drive it when it's like that it's very lumpy :( I've hunted around the engine but can't find any leaks when it happens - so any ideas? I've already got a new coolant sensor which I'm putting on in the morning, so I'll see if that helps.

just working out what I need for my engine rebuild I am keeping my auto transmission but will be using a manual engine, I know that the cam set up is slightly different and so are the turbo's . I will be keeping the manual cams and upgrading the turbo's, but when I do the upgrade will I be better to get manual or auto turbo's given the fact I will be using manual heads and an auto box

Hello all, Asking for help again - sorry! I seem to be getting a squeal now from i believe to be the rear brakes its constant when going along so I am guessing I need new pads, but from looking through the pads seem fine anything else? If it is the pads which are the best to use and prices?? Also time for two new rear tyres I have had a quote on B/S SO3 245/45/16 for 120 each or BF Goodrich for £90 each which is the better tyre? Many thanks, And hope you all have a good xmas and new year. Come on Santa bring me the 300ZX goodies!!

Its not bad but its noticeable and I'd like to know if its a serious prob. I spoke to someone the other day and he said his does the same.

Morning all Quick question (I hope). Can I confirm that the HICAS system uses normal transmission fluid? I've done a quick search and it seems Dexron III is the stuff I need. Do I top this up via the Power Steering reservoir or does it have it's own. Cheers Paul

Hi Guys, Is this an easy job? The car came with a replacement 110 MPH unit in a box and I haven't been bothered to change it up until now. The car's a 1990 jap spec TT, so will the new unit fit directly onto the original wiring loom? Is it easy to get to/remove? Thanks Ch

It won't tick over, if you put it into gear it stalls it misses and sounds awful Thanx please dont get too technical as we are new to this

I noticed last night the power steering didn't seem as easy as it normally does, wasn't the air in the tyres and it looked like there was enough fluid in the reservoir although can someone tell me how high the level should be?

55K miles, manual, Black met, leather, Imaculate car, but, there is always a but! I have just been for a test drive and there is no positive feel to the gear lever, it is all over the place like a van, changes gear ok just a bit vague. Is that normal or should the box be tight? Also a vibration going thru the car when driving and pulling around 3 to 5 k revs. And finally when driving along put your foot down on the gas, then lift off, then re-apply again it jerks like a bitch, any ideas, I walked away from it in the end, but if its all simple stuff then I may be tempted.
