hi all, ive got this slight miss fire on my 1990 uk tt auto, i think ive narrowed it down to the LHS bank of cylinders ( drivers side ), the way i did this was to slightly rev the the RHS bank, i think this lets the air in to the plennum feedding the opposite side, i hope im right !!! :nelson: right then doing this i get the miss fire, so i disconnected the coil packs one by one and the revs dropped on all six cyllinders, next i disconnected the injectors and cleaned the terminals and tried again but to no avail. :cry: i also put a long screwdriver against the injectors and put the other end against my ear and could listen to the injectors clicking awa…

Car is a UK 1992 TT manual. Recently had a minor prang which caused some damage to the front bumper (was only a gentle tap, nothing hard), don't think this is related, but .... Car had just been running/driving fine for about 30 mins, then sat idling for about 10 minutes outside a shop. Trying to drive the car away, it felt like the clutch had completely gone; clutch fully up in 1st resulted in a slight strain from the engine, nothing else. I had problems with my lights circuit blowing a fuse when I turned on my inner brake light conversion and it turned out to be wires going to the side markers that were run over the top of the exhausts :shock: that were shorting out the circuit :rolleyes: Anyway, I got rid of that shit job someone did and I now need to know the best way to feed the wires down to the side markers. I had a look down the sides from the boot but couldn't see a way to get down to them. What is the best way? Surely you dont have to run the wires on the outside and underneath the back bumper? My daily driver is an Escort 1.4 on a G plate. It has suddenly started overheating. I can drive for about 10 minutes before the temprature reaches the red. I have checked the water and oil and they are fine, all thought the water when checked after a run is really hot!. Does this sound like the water pump has failed?. Or maybe I should just run some rad flush through it?. (or maybe I should just get another daily driver :D ) What do you think? Thanks in Advance Glynn

I have to replace one of my front wheel studs. Can any of you guys tell me whether it is possible to achieve this without dismantling, ie, just knock the old one through and fit the new one from behind? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Martin

IM undecided on what tubs to upgrade to either larger comp wheels and 360 bearing t25's or a pair of t28's If I fit the t28's will I need 555 injectors or could I get away with running standard untill I can afford a set, also what other mods will I need to get the best out of them and a rough bhp figure? thanks John d

In a previous thread I wondered if the heater matrix had gone on my Jap NA as I was getting no heating but it started working again the next day. Though today I had an over heating problem I think? I was driving back from work about 10-15 mins (not pushing it) and noticed just as I was getting home the temp reading was high & then went to max. Pulled up & popped bonnet - fan on radiator was going, and could hear what sound like air escaping from the raditor cap valve, also could hear a sound like some water was bubbling near the radiator in a pipe low down? - could not place it exactly... my zed is running better at the moment then ever before the only thing that is beigining to niggle me is when you are slowing down or coasting the auto box changes from first to second and back really fast making the car jerk it seems to be worst in the rain and i have noticed that some times when you start it up the auto consult light on the right of the dash flashes fast for about 30secs im thinking tps any advise thanks steve

I have started doing a 60k service and some other work but I need to turn the car around. This is because the ground is just too uneven to jack her up (I know I should have checked first :slap: ). I am limited to a small working space so the only option is to turn her around. Can I move her in Neutral by pushing, it only has to go about 10 feet, turn around and come back again the other way.

Recently bought my 300zx tt auto and I have the usual tick over/idle problem, have read a load of threads about the PTU and connection being gunked and bent back over to much but can I buggery find the PTU, what is it and where is it. :confused: Is it anything to do with the ECU in the passenger footwell?? Any answers would be appreciated.

The more I do the more goes wrong :cry: I am not going into the whole story but some mechanic damaged my new 18" rims and I had to put my old 16" back on the front because the rim is loosing air, as I had lowered the car it is now scraping speed humps. shortly after the front pipes seemed to start blowing so I assumed it was damage from this. When I bought my Zed I was handed the original rear boxes and 2 restrictor rings cut out of the exhaust pipe.I was told Nissan put these rings in to restrict power.This seems an unlikely thing to do after all that precision engineering.Does anyone know what they were there for?

Power loss - what power??!! Hi all, any diesel experts among us please? I have a Nissan vanette '98 2.3 diesel. It's a total slug but serviced regularly and drives well apart from every now and then, say about once every 5-10 miles it loses power and wont pull and chucks black smoke out the zorst. Anyone have any ideas what it might be, dont really want to take it to nissan dealer! Thanks,
