Hi, I have just recieved an Apexi Kit from a member of another forum, my question is: He has just sent an Apexi "filter" with 8 bolt holes to mount it. I thought there was supposed to be another part to fit to the Z, or does this sound right? Thanks.

Right, As my local forum members will undoubtedly know, my exhaust has been buggered for some time now but, when it was last looked at, the cats were ok. However, had my new cat back system fitted today and, lo and behold, it's still blowing like an overpaid whore 'cos the cats have found God (gone holy). So, to de-cat or not to de-cat - that is the question  . I know the power gains are worth it, but I am more bothered about reliability. The car has done almost 60k (miles), and I already have some smoke coming from the drivers side pipe when I pull away (particularly after the car has been standing/ticking over). Could this just be pcv's? …

I've searched the forum and not come up with the answer, so apologies if I'm recapping... The attached pic seems to be the currently recognised wiring diagram for the inner brake light conversion. My question is: to illuminate the converted fog lamp, where have people taken the "Side lights 12volt supply" from? The options as I see them are: 1) for each brake light, take the 12V feed from the adjacent side (tail) light, but can the stop-and-tail-lamp-sensor (which is up-stream) handle the extra current drawn? 2) tap into the side-light 12V before the sensor 3) run a seperate 12V from the side-light fuse (pain in the :x: !) :confu…

Hi, I have another problem :( (other is heater problem - see other thread), I am having a dead spot in acceleration on my JAP NA, from about 1500 - 2500. Mainly happens after breaking/slowing right down (say whilst turning at a junction - which is a pain/dangerous) - put foot on accelerator and the car feels like it drops in power & then picks up fine after about 2500rpm all the way to the redline. Its hard to describe, stick your foot on accelerator & for about 1-2secs hardly no acceleration (watching rpm's, very slowly raises, then after 2500rpm very fast acceleration to redline as normal. I have had a custom stainless steel exahust system …

Hi, Just tried to use the heater (1st time probably since winter) and I am getting no heating! Step the temp control from minimum, after about 30 degrees stops blowing cold air directly at me & switches to just cold air at windscreens... Saw a simliar thread about heater matrix having gone, is this what has happended to mine? I havent spotted any water in the passenger foot well but I will go & have a look in a few mins... I did see a puff of steam come through the air vents on one or 2 occasions. Havent noticed the car overheating - temp indicator on dash has been normal... though I do have another problem with acceleration but I assume that…

Limped the Z home the other night and will have to wait til the weekend to have a proper look. Alot of steam coming from bottom left-ish of rad area. Puddle of coolant under the car. Temp needle on dash as normal. Left hand end tank of rad was very hot and right hand side barely warm, rad cap not hot at all. Had my rad re-cored last year so would be surprised if it was that. So air lock? water pump? Any pointers would be great. As I say haven't got around to looking properly so it might be obvious when I do......no harm in a few idea's or suggestions though! Thanks as always.

I'm sure I know this car and have seen it twice on Southmead road but it keeps drives past me far too fast!! It is a pale yellow and quite beautiful, who are you?? If you see a black *cough* Saab flashing you it's me but hopefully I'll be passing you in my red 280 by the end of the week! Suzy

Just got my auto rebuilt for the second time in 1 year. This time I have to add the oil myself as only box was sent off. I have read from threads that she will take 8.7 litres of oil (box and convertor) I have added approx 6.5 litres and she reads full at dip stick (hot and cold) Should I add the extra 2 litres? Also since mechanic fitted box the gear lever is no longer rigid and moves quite a bit when trying to change geae manually. Peviously it felt very tight and I would only have to toucj gently and it would click between the gears. Can this be adjusted or is it in the box internals? Thanks R

Am I right in thinking that they are a H3C fitting and that the PIAA H3C Super Whites are a suitable replacement (part no. H144/H-39)?? Is there a PIAA Super White version of the sidelight and fog lights ??? Thanks in advance

Hello all. I'm having some problems with my rear tyres. They seem to be wearing on the inner edges. The car is not lowered so it's not the camber i think. What else could it be. Thanks in advance. Ivan

Me again! Soz for all the questions but you guys are so helpfull! In the lumbar support of the drivers seat there is a big hole in the leather where it's been worn from getting in and out. Is it possible to replace the leather on the lumbar support only or must the whole seat be redone?? Any ideas or links to old threads would be great, thanks! Andrew

I'm hoping to replace the horrible tweed interior over the winter with a nice leather one from the Z Centre. I could just play it safe and go for plain black but I'm considering a light coloured set. Does anyone have theirs done in (from the Z Centre colour chart) pearl, bone or cream and if so do you have any pics so I could get an idea of how it looks installed? Cheers

Well, after 3 weeks of Zed ownership I have a knacked engine. I'll not get into the nitty gritty but it looks as though the best way to go from here is to break the car. I'm definitely not going for an engine swap or a rebuild. Now I could sell the car on for someone else to break but I'll not get very much at all for it. I'm sure I'll be able to make most of my money back selling the the bits individually but I don't have the expertise or space to break everything. It's a Red, 1992 UK spec TT manual with full leather. The body work is very good for the age and the paint hasn't faded at all. Has anyone been in a similar situation? Any advice? I'm…

I am trying to source the best price for a 99 spec front bumper, have phoned a couple of places typically £330 inc VAT. Thought it might be worth trying Nissan? But don't know if I will get very far without a part number. Has anyone ever tried this?

Just a quick one to warn other people. I have learnt the hard way. A while ago, I found a guy on ebay doing a good deal on KYB shocks. I posted up if anyone else wanted any and a few guys did. I went to the guy with the amount I wanted and he gave a discount over the single priced item on ebay. Now, ebay is set up for buying one item at a time, so when I needed more than one the seller gave me his Paypal address and I sent the money. This was still via his ebay shop. Obviously buying multiples through "buy it now" (1 at a time) wouldn't of taken into account the discount he was giving me for buying a few sets. That was back at the start of August and it seems quite c…

Hello everyone. As some of you already know, I bought a '94 UK Auto TT on Saturday. :hyper: :hyper: I've got some questions which I'll put here and then do a search on all the subjects. But if you have any quick fix answers, they'll be greatly appreciated, ie. 'Its supposed to be like that!' :slap: 1. Headlights are tonk 2. Filling up is painfully slow. ( V regular Shell customer already LOL ) 3. Climate Control is possesed! 4. Every time I turn the ignition off EVERYTHING turns off and rests. Radio doesnt seem to be wired to the battery directy. Loses all the stored settings, v. annoying! More seriously... There is a slight knocking coming from the…
