Hi All, I'm getting some nasty noises when the clutch is down, and almost grinding like sounds when changing gear. This doesn't always happen, but does seem to be getting worse. I've been told its the thrust bearing, but figured while that is being done, i might as well get a clutch pack and do the lot (don't think it's had a new clutch in it). It's a 1990 Jap Import Non-Turbo, Z32 SWB. Any advice of where and how much for a decent clutch would be grately appreciated. So far i've been quoted £113.36 inv VAT from BuyPartsBy, £223.25 from Speedways (they could only get Bluechip, or something). Also checked Courtesy Parts and they have disc assembly/pressu…

Probs started on sunday...went for a quick run out in the morning and everything was fine....then came to go out sunday night...and the car started to rattle as i drove down the road....drove about five miles and the noise got worse so i pulled the car up and turned her off...then it would'nt restart..so i called the AA... :xxx: The guy from the AA said that the noise was pinking...at it was prob caused by the fact that the oil level showing on the dip stick was to high, causing oil to enter the inlet manifold and throttle bodies..He advised going to a garrage to have these cleaned out and the oil level dropped. Any way I took into a garrage today and they told me t…

Guys Lightened pulleys seem like a good idea so.... Should I get just the crank pulley or get the whole set ? Also will I need a new belt(s?) ? How much is a new belt(s?) ? I met a guy at a meet not so long ago who said to avoid these as they don't have a damper as fitted by Nissan and therefore will damage the bottom end of the engine (bearings I presume). Any thoughts or advice as always very much appreciated. Cheers Mark

Just bought a Camber adjustment kit from Harvey. I am gonna need to get it fitted asap as the car is ripping the hell out of my tyres inside edges. I have been told I will need to fit new tyres when I get it fitted anyway so is not going to be a cheap job. Is it going to cost me even moe to get the kit fitted or is it a doddle? Cheers, Justin

Hi mate, Spotted your post in the wanted section earliar about the wheels you've got for sale. I'm definitely interested in the two rear UK spec wheels and 2 of your jap ones as well - depending on the tyre tread, I need ones with a good amount of life left and evenly worn. Email me with how much you are after. I'll be able to collect as I'm only about an hour from you. Cheers. :) Ed

Just in case anyone's interested the buzzing from somewhere near the footwell turned out to be two emission relays which try to bring up the revs if they are two low apparently the later 300's have done away with these but the way round it is first to bring up the base idle which would be running too low in my case...... The relays sit just to the right of the fluid reservoir for the brakes. If anyone else has the same problem.

Hi Guys, My 93" Jap Zed has developed a problem with its Auto Gearbox when cold it does not want to change gear from 1st even if I use the gear select but after it as been running for about 20 mins its fine, at the same time this problem started to occured, a whistling noise from the passenger of the engine started it sound like air leak from the turbo but the turbo compression seems ok. Does anyone know where I cxan get a wiring diagram fopr the dash electrical system? I'm looking for a constant 12v feed from the battery as when I turn the ignition off EVERYTHING in the cockpit goes dead and loses memory ie radio and climate control. I've taken a wire from the batt through the window to test it, everything seems to be on a parallel circuit. Is it possible to connect a supply to one device, ie radio to make everything work or must I connect everything seperatly to stop it drawing too much current?? Hope I've made sense! On night shift this week so I've got ALL day to tinker, yeah :hyper: Thanks Andrew

Hiya Ryan. I have spoken to you a few times at the Reading Jap meet, mines the black zed with the cross spoke wheels, just had new gearbox etc. How much would it be for you to take a look at it and make sure it's running ok, also to raise the boost to 1 bar. Obviously ill bring the car to you. No one wants to buy it so I might as well spend more money on it!!

Every now and then.... and I mean perhaps less than once a week, I'll be accelerating out of a roundabout in third, when the car decides to really over fuel - *huge* cloud of black smoke that fills the view from the rear-view mirror. If I ease off the accelerator then reapply it then acts the car behaves normally, and full acceleration is then available. The ECU is showing up 55, so must be a dodgy MAF / wiring problem right? Duffer / JD .. any ideas?? Cheers Si. p.s Nismo 555's, no EGR, no AIV's, decat, Turbo Technics stage 2's, stock ECU with SE chip.

  25. Hi Guys Has anyone got a wiring diagram showing a UK (Series 2) with electric passenger seat and heated seats. Trying to wire them up in a Series 1  From a post by crazy_eddie I think I also need 2 relays  Dont think I will use the existing switches as I will lose the folding mirrors. Just added some photos if it helps work out the heated seats etc. Series 1 has white, black and green/yellow wires on drivers seat. Have attached some photos. Any help appreciated................ Cheers Martin
