My inside blower fan has died - I cannot now demist front screen or have any air blown through the vents. Over last few days it made an occasional rattle like something was loose inside then stopped altogether. After pulling passenger side dash apart and locating the blower I noticed the plug that goes into it has fused onto the plastic shroud of the motor and the wires were slightly blackened and stuck together at the plug. Not good. after cutting back the wire back to the good bits and re-extending the wire (solder with 17a cable) - I fitted 2 spade connectors and when I switch fan or a/c on i get about 8-9 volts whilst blower is unconnected? (I thought it sho…

I have come across a low cost alternative to saving my Z and would like your advice. I have come across a place in Birmingham who will fit one of their 40-50k TT engines, inc turbos, they have 5-6 engines at present and will charge a flat rate plus bolt on whatever else I need, water pump oil pump and fit timing belts etc plus what ever other parts I want to bring to them, they say they have done around 5-6 Z's in the past. they say if they fit an engine and its not right etc they will refit another of their engines for no extra cost. All I pay is around £1400 in total. Sounds too good to be true but there doing the business. I would like your advice please. What extra…

This is doing my head in now, tried a second chip in the ecu still got a hunting idle when I disconect the maf it will idle fine! which would point to a faulty maf? although the conzult check come up with it being ok  Its def got wet as I have a dual apexi setup that sits near the vented nose pannel. I have taken the foam elements out and dried them I have dried the maf, put it all back in but the car still runs crap :headvswal :headvswal any one had these symtoms that pointed towards the maf being buggered?

After a less than illuminated drive home in the dark last night, I've decided that some HID's are required. 2 questions: 1. Are the HID bulbs for dipped headlights (and high beam remain the same)? 2. Where do I get them...is it still Outlander? Cheers all.

Well boys, have found out the mystery behind the metallic rotary noise! Either Lymon or WillieO has got it right. I was cruising at about 35mph on Saturday and stopped at some lights, put foot down and car crawled away really slowly, luckily I was only 2 minutes from home, then the car just got slower and slower til I was forced to stop. Turned engine off for about a minute then popped it into drive for the slow but short ride home. So boys what do you think it is, the torque convertor or the auto box? hopefully it is one or the other and not both. How much am I looking at to fix it,and does anybody have any spares i could buy? HELP!!

as above really couldnt avoid this big puddle yesterday so had to go through it.. anyway when I turn right the front passenger wheel makes a real horrible scraping plastic noise.. looked and cant see anything wrong it sounds like a worn brake disc/pads etc that kind of noise but the brakes are perfect. done 50 miles last night and it hasnt gone away thought it might have died down..? I dont think it does it specifically when I brake just when I turn left help its horrible! chris :D

saw these at JAE on sunday. they were £60.00 for the zed, and are supposed to add 5 octane to regular 95 petrol. did anyone get or ever tried these? not sure if they are just a gimmick  nice to meet some of you this weekend, and also see your motors.......got plenty of ideas for my zed now! :D (was also amusing seeing vinni attempting to unlock his car after the large amounts of alcohol he had obviously consumed   )

im thinking my flat power problem could be the injector connections, the plenums coming off so i can fix the water leaks and was going to do the connections at the same time. was thinking, surely the injectors would either work or they wouldnt with a bad connection, or does anyone know any different? i get no fault codes or missfires, but does it run better with clean connections?

  15. Hi gang. Right, this weekend, I am going to go and have a look and a test drive on a Zed which I've put a small holding deposit on at a Jap dealership in Slough. Reason I've put a holding deposit on it? Well, it's a very low mileage import (rated grade4) so should really be a very good example. It's manual and is TT. So is exactly what I am looking for. Well, I am pretty technically minded and a fairly competent self taught mechanic, but I don't really have a clue what I'm looking for with a zed. I have printed out a copy of the fact sheet thing on the site, but really would like a zedder along with me as a second opinion. 4 eyes are better than 2 and someo…

Chaps, an evil thief smashed the window on my Jap SWB TT and used a crowbar to force the door open, bending the A Pillar in the process. How much will it roughly cost to repair the pillar? Cheers in advance!

Stopped into a pub for a pint, (shandy of course) we sat outside, i glanced over to the purple beasty and noticed water trickling from underneath where your fill up your coolant. After further inspection i realised that the filler neck for the coolant is a simple push fit and that the water seemed to be trickling out from that joint. Water was warm not hot, temp gauge still sat in the middle ish (slightly lower) has this happened to anyone else??? should there be a rubber seal where the filler neck meets the bottle???? Oh and then to top everything off, my car developes a very strange squeeking noise, and i when i got home i was disturbed to find out …
