General Discussions - 300ZX Related

when ever i have my wipers on, then switch them off, they insist on an extra wipe, its not really a prob, but its bloody annoying! is this what there meant to do or is there a prob with the switch or relay? also my hand brake is high & not very good performance, i remember adjusting it up on the shoes in the discs before, but the lever remains high, is there cable adjustment somewhere? & any reasons other than worn hand brake shoes that the performance is crap? thankyou steve

Hi all After sodding around with the wiring loom on my Zed for ages trying to cure an intermitant misfire i've decided that it probably needs a new one. A local company i have approached may be interested in making these looms up if they can guage interest. If anyone thinks they could do with a new engine loom just put your name down and I'll pass the number on. I dont have a price yet and you won't be committing to anything, They just need to see if its worthwhile sourcing all the connectors and stuff.

Hi guys i have a gto and want something more exiting as well as nice as the gto is its sooo boring to drive there is no sensation of speed. What is the 300zx tt capable of top end accel and what are tuning mods like to get hold of also what is the best model to go for and what should i spend Cheers

Just had the beast out for first proper run since i got her, there seemed to be loadsa heat in the engine bay tho. Temp gauge sat safely in the middle of the gauge, so is it just that the heat finds it hard to escape due to the cramped layout of the engine bay or what??? But on a better note, that was the first real run I've had in a Zed and boy, what a machine, it was great to see peoples expressions in traffic lol cheers bandit... out...

I was the blue MR2 Roadster that kept swapping positions with you for a while.. Just thought I'd see if you were on here. Kept meaning to come over to the 300ZX stand and look for familiar faces, but ended up coming home early to get some sleep - thanks to that prat with the hardcore going full blat till 2.30am and the other lot that kept me up the entire night :rolleyes:

:xxx: Hi folks, my baby is fast approaching service time, 300ZX UK spec, religiously serviced every 4k, up to date I have only used SE Nisstec, but they appear to have vanished. I asked the chap at the garage who took over what had happened to SE but he was about as much help as a bucket of gas in a fire, so no help there. The only thing I am qualified to do under the bonnet is polish and top up fluid levels, sad I know especially for a man my age. Can anyone suggest a garage that can be trusted with my baby in the Essex area if possible, much appreciated if you can help.

A plea for help since I've had no reply from Danny with several eMails sent over the past couple of months. It's now become urgent since I need to check my idle settings and reset the TPS (far easier that using a multi meter) I need to reinstall the software after my notebook died. Problem is I've lost the original floppy and the downloaded software update of a couple of years ago. Can anyone help with a copy of the software?

My old but very lovely 300 ZX wont go!!! The garage are at a loss as to what is wrong with him. I cant get another mechanic to even attempt to fix him. Somthings blown the epu. Does anyone know where I can buy a secondhand epu? or what might have blown it in the first place? and if I put a new epu in, will that just blow as well? Everyone is talking about scrapping him! Im gona cry!!! please help..... :(

Ive just mounted a new airhorn under the nose panel. I can see both the original horns at either side. Im taking it its a green wire (I think switched live)? Is there anywhere easy I can cut the main feed for both horns and take that to my relay box? Its a bastad under there and trying to pull the feeds of either horn is resulting in turrets and bloody knuckles!!!!!!!!!! Cheers

Should my fan be running all the time on my 90 n/a? As soon as I start it it runs even when the car is cold? Shouldnt it just go on when the car gets a little hot? Its got a mind of its own!!

Can people just post up photos of after market rear spoilers (subtle ones). Need some ideas for something. Ta

need a quick bit of advice on this one just gone to fit a remapped chip in my ecu and found a label on my ecu that says reprogrammed by turbo systems motor sport now as the car is running stock boost etc i presume this ecu needs boost jets to lift the boost? and are this companys remaps any good on a z? cheers kev

:dance: got my zed back from the repair shop , wife has just called me to say "its" back ..........some of you guys might remember a tree fell on it ( during the storms a few months ago ) ....taking off the drivers mirror and denting the wing and bonnet and "A" frame ....cant wait to seeit repaired as good as new again ....will post up some pics when im back :dance: :dance:

I haven't a clue what it is but there seems to be a nice pool of something under the car where the driver side is. One thing I do know is that I have to keep topping up my brake fluid as it keeps disappearing somewhere! Could it be that? Looks like something is broken under there and that something is leading to the back of the car. Any help would be nice, I'll try get some pictures of it sometime, just my friends nicked my camera for the weekend as I can't make it to JAE! :cry:

Hi , thinking of getting me 60k service done as just bought the zed and it should be due in 10k time, but not knowing the history, i'd rather get it done. Anyone ever Changed the colour of there Zed? What did you have done ? eg: just outside of car, outside and all inner shut's and exposable under panels? Thinking of Changing the colour of mine to a lighter brighter colour and i used to be a sprayer/mechanic so just want to know what other's have done or had done to their Zed so i can get some idea's for mine :)
