I've been looking around for the best quote, and have come up with these........ Adrian Flux (who I'm with) quoted me a renewal of £619, but didn't add in a discount for being a member here, so reduced it down to £560 Carole Nash have quoted me at £438 (with included breakdown cover for the UK and Europe) I'm a member of the RAC, so thought I'd give them a try, and they quoted £399!!!! But then my breakdown cover is on top. So finally I gave Houghtons a try (as I used to be with them when it was my second car) they quoted a staggering £799!!!    Don't think I'll be using them! :D Oh, I'm 40 later this month, SD&P,…

this morning and controlled it, it so makes a difference from before I poly bushed and replaced the hicas ball joints. To be honest I had lost my nerve with her cos before she wouldn't just step out she would jump and you had no chance of control, now I feel a bit more confident it was a nice breakaway and not just a loss of the back end. This was me all the way home :D :D :D :D :D :D

Here's a few piccies while installing the Japspeed zorst from the group buy  superb piece of kit and went on straight away - all parts were supplied too including gaskets, bolts, etc. it sounds damn nice too ;) a little more bassy, bit it has taken some of the V8-sounding rumble away (which was probably bits of my old exhaust being knackered). sounds a little more like a straight-6 in my opinion but still very nice. :D Off with the old...

Don't want to change the exterior , as Zed's a beautiful anyway...but under the bonnet is a different matter. First things first, Cambelt Change - £350, auto oil box cooler £200....still have 2950 to spend....what should I do next? Suspension, brakes, engine mods... And what the max boost I can run on a standard car, without blowing a hole in it?

Hi guys, When travelling at low speed say 20mph in 2nd or 3rd gear the car seems quite hesitant really. Seems to have occured since I fitted the boost controller. It feels a bit juddery as though the fuel isn't getting through quite quickly enough if you know what I mean. Above say 2.5-3k revs it's fine and you can't notice it. It also doesn't happen all the time lol. Weird one Any ideas? Chris

I changed my heater matrix this weekend, something I never want to do again by the way  Anyway everything is working great apart from the above. The timer is part of the alarm which I believe was fitted in Japan. Everyting else works including the remote start but when I turn the engine off thats it, where as it used to stay running for 2 minutes after. Just wondering really if anyone had any ideas of which area of wiring I would be best off looking at first??? Cheers

Went to see an old Zed today thats breaking for spares. Its an 89, N/A Auto, standard wheels etc. Full car is complete, but wont start. Previous owner has removed a cam cover to check if the belt was broken. Belt seems ok, but seems to be turning over too easily. Sounds as if there is no, or very little compression. Didnt have time to do a compression test. Any ways, I assume the engine is shot, and as such, there is no way to check on the condition of the gearbox. Owner says it was driving fine, but he would ? :smw: Is it worth buying to break ?? Not looking to make a fortune, but every little helps !! Got a place to store it, and the required to…

The oil level on my car has always been just over the H mark on the dip stick. The dip stick is an after market one so i have always ignored it. The garage changed the oil when they did the clutch and they put it at the same level. Took the car out last night and gave it some stick, my oil pressure was reading slightly lower than normal on the way home. Got to the car today and there was a trail of oil drips up to where its parked. Checked the bottom of the car and there was a 6 inch pool of oil. Oh dear. Opened the bonnet and found that the dip stick and poped out and had lost oil that way. Phew! Checked the oil level and its now about 3 quarters high. Fair enough I…

I'm a bad bad girl. :D Oh and it's so much fun playing with little boys in there little VW Golf's at traffic lights. I pulled up short of the line at the traffic lights and some foolish boy decided to crept passed me over the white line while the light's were still red. He had his whole car infront of me and I could tell by the smug grin on his face he thought he had me. Dream on little boy this woman's in a Zed   …
