General Discussions - 300ZX Related

Not exactly looking for help and advice, just to boast.... I;ve found somthing on my car that works bob on ;) Couldnt believe it yesterday, hot sunny day started her up and freezing cold air was blasting me on all sides.... Almost died of shock!

The oil level on my car has always been just over the H mark on the dip stick. The dip stick is an after market one so i have always ignored it. The garage changed the oil when they did the clutch and they put it at the same level. Took the car out last night and gave it some stick, my oil pressure was reading slightly lower than normal on the way home. Got to the car today and there was a trail of oil drips up to where its parked. Checked the bottom of the car and there was a 6 inch pool of oil. Oh dear. Opened the bonnet and found that the dip stick and poped out and had lost oil that way. Phew! Checked the oil level and its now about 3 quarters high. Fair enough I…

In process of removing my engine but having a bit of a problem getting to the last air con pump bolt (what a ridiculous position!!) I'm guessing I need some kind of flexible extension but is it best tackled from above or below? Advice appreciated, TIA RobH

Hello all Is anyone near Halfords Melton Mowbry, MY brother has a small problem with his skyline r32 gtst, A Leaky pipe that has a valve nipple on it apparently something to do with oil pressure, but not really sure what it's for or how he can fix it, Is there anyone local who can check it out quickly for a few quid.. I've started pushing the limits with my Zed again. What fun I love it. :D Droping a gear and stamping down hard on that go faster pedal and flying by everyone else man it rocks, over taking at every and any oppertunity. I'm a bad bad girl. :D Oh and it's so much fun playing with little boys in there little VW Golf's at traffic lights. I pulled up short of the line at the traffic lights and some foolish boy decided to crept passed me over the white line while the light's were still red. Are the camshaft seals the same part number as the front crankshaft seals on a 1993 UK Zed. Can anyone confirm this for me. Cheers John Crisp

I am just about to finish fitting my heater matrix. I was just wandering if there is anything that I need to do to bleed the coolant through or do just keep toppoing it up as and when

grey zed on cranes farm near festival leisure park saturday night 31st about 1 am with a high rear spoiler. this is a regular meet now for all the southend on sea cruisers as theyve been banned from seafront. some nice s14"s behind you.

Right, looking to get a rear bumper for my zed. Seen quite a few and really like the kaminari rear valance but think I might have issues trying to source it. Other one I quite like is the stillen GTZ rear valance. Does anyone have pics of the stillen one. Think someone on the site has them fitted. cheers ronnie

Hey guys I am isntalling an illuminated boost gauge on the driver's side (LHD Jap Z). I need to find a power source in the driver's side kick panel full of wires that is only 'hot' (powered) then car is switched on - THe car is a '90 Z TT - What colour wires should I be tapping into ? Thanks!

parked car, heard a hissing opened bonnet and steam its pissin out coolant the coolant is brown and sludgy (head gasket is fine, its been brown for a while just never flushed it out and cars driven fine and not overheaten) i cant pinpoint where its steaming but know the area but the car cut out on me, it does start but after 30secs starts to steam up and would probs cut out lots of coolant has got on the big fan at the front and the belts its comin from here

Hi all. About 2 days ago my car began to splutter when started up, searches for idle and won't go well till warm. It did the same today too. Runs great when warmed up but is a real dog when first started.... Does anyone know what could be causing this. It has done this once before but just the once then been ok. I no theres been alot of post on this latley but to be honest i dont understand how it all work so wo#hat would be needed to fit these on a zed if they would go at all?? The front wheels are 8.5 x 19 with an offset of 41.9. The rear are 11 x 19 with an offset of 55.3. thanks graeme

Im looking at the old N/A rebuild, and what cams to put in it. I have been offered Tomei cams, 264intake with 272 exhaust, or 270 intake and exhaust. Im unsure what effect this will have, and as im not looking at building a full blown racer, (If I was i'd have bought a SWB slicktop and TT'd it!), just something a tad quicker. I wondered if anyone had researched it and had ant info?? Also, I'd rather not have the tickover excessively lumpy while ticking over. Decided on the pistons, as I was going to fit some big 90mm, 12:1 compression ratio beast's, but have decided to drop the compression ratio down to 11:1. I don't really know how to explain this in english so i hope you will understand from the picture: I found a new clutch kit from os giken and i installed it yesterday but as you can see, we had to push back the fork to install the "clutch command" Any explaination? Should i cut the small axe out of the command?
