sorted my det-can sensor a couple of weeks ago with a 1meg ohm resistor, everything was going sweet, boostin properly etc then it jumped back into safety mode. done a check and found code 33 & code 34......... i've checked the connector for the o2 sensor and everyhting looks good (no corrosion etc) does this mean that the resistor hasn't worked? showing up code 34 again? if the connector for the o2 is not broke (corroded) how do i go about fixing it? will fitting divorced de-cats help or make the issue worse? the car has an induction kit, back box, 1mm boost jets and chip by John Dixon. (the car did pass its emissions test on its MO…

Just a note for anyone that has a problem with their speed sensor (off the transmission, 5speed I can't speak to the AUTO) A failing speed sensor on the transmission if not replaced promptly, will cause an additional failure in your Speedo Head according to Nissan. Certain failures of the sensor cause a voltage overload to be fired through the circuit and causes damage to the Speedo Head transducer (Behind the speedo). Once this happens, there is a grounding that occurrs intermittently causing the speedo needle to drop to 0, your cruz control stops working and the variable speed steering is also affected. It is a whole lot cheaper believe me to fix that sen…

was gettin coolant system flushed, alot of brown thick gungy stuff was coming out if it, it cant be a head gasket, the oil dipstick is perfect, car temp gauge doesnt overheat, no lack of power, it was bein washed out with a pressure washer, can oil get into the coolant system without it bein a head gasket? sealant was put in the coolant several months back which kept the coolant in decent shape the green arrow is where most of the gunge is coming from the 2 ticks is where the water seems to be getting clearner tho when it has a pressure washer in them

. . . . We did it; we went on a track day. :nana2: A present from my PA's; We had a great time, plenty of track time cos it was 'open pit'. I scared myself too many times (see photo) its the look of fear realy!! Then after a great day it all went tits up; about 10 miles from home we lost all drive to the gear box ???? Not sure if it is the fluid that we have cooked or if its the bands gone. There seems to be a smell from the fluid but no abnormal colour. Think we will change the fluid and have a look at the sump filter;if no lumps in it we will change fluid. If the sump has nasty bits guess it could be a b…

I dont know if this has been discussed before but we seem to have built quite a decent number of members now (1000 just being achieved lately) has anyone ever worked out what is the most or least populated area/region? It would be nice to know. Does each regional mod' know how many he/she has on their books? ;)

Hi there, i have just signed up to the forum. I have had a Subaru Impretza fro the last year and a half. Within the next month or so i am looking at selling it because its costing me too much money with reliabillity issues. I love Jap performance cars and so am looking at buying a 300ZX. I would like to know an honest view on the reliabillity of the cars and what to look for when buying. I apreciate these cars are not like your average Ford Mondeo so are never going to be cheap to run but just some general info would be good. Also performance wise compared to my Subaru which is running at about 280bhp- i'm guessing that the 300 is a bit quicker looking at some …

Installed a Manual Boost Controller to my wifes car to give it a bit more oooommmphh. (along with boost guage) Anyway, there is a slight issue. When you accelerate hard the boost gets to 0.6 bar and then stops there (making the car judder) and the goes upto the set boost of 0.8 bar. The cars ECU has a built in cut out at 1 bar and the maf can handle 2bar (according to others who have done this mod before) Feels like its running out of fuel, bit weird. The car is a 2.0i Turbo Peugeot/Citroen engine. Any idea's?

I am currently in the process of installing clear rear indicator lenses but i am wondering what bulb to get for them. I have read on here about the "fried-egg" effect when using orange bulbs and using chromed silvertec bulbs instead but these posts all seem to be speaking about the side repeaters not the rears. Can you get away with orange bulbs in the rears because the diffuser means you cant see the orange bulb through it or can you also get silvertec bulbs for the rears? if so from where? I will also be de-oranging the other indicators. The side repeaters i will replace with clear repeaters and silvertec bulb. Where is the best place to get that set? An i want to …

I have 2 cars and would like to use it in both. * If I want to get a sat nav that covers Europe, do I need to buy a pre programmed model or can I just download maps from somewhere when I know I'm going to a certain country ?. * Any recommendations on what make model to go for ?. I don't want the top of the range ones, I just want something that's gonna get me from where I am to where i want to be. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
