what do you expect you can't have performance without less fuel consumption.

Its been said before but if MPG is an issue when owning a Z then you have the wrong car.

no never said it was an issue just wanted to know if anyone else notice the difference it still better on fuel than my old xr4x4.

the chips generally increase fuelling to support the increase in boost pressure.

which chip do you have?

it was done by zedworld i think it's a JWT. also got boost jet's, run's 14-15psi (but got safety boost today well have to look at it when i get time)

Also in last 24hrs done 200miles on 1/2 tank.

200 on half a tank

i normally only get 280 ave to a full one

JWT are quite an aggressive chip from what ive read but you will get more grins for your £ per mile tho. If its not an issue i wouldnt worry because i think your doing better MPG that most on here

well 160 of the 200 was at 70mph.

I get approx 200 miles to a full tank. 260 if its motorway. i do have a heavy right foot tho :D

Yes, but the fuel guage does not go down in proper proportion...... :nono:

You will only get 50 or so from the second "half" now ;)

Richard :D

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

On NA vehicles its often possible to improve performance and mpg at the same time. Running leaner and more efficient.

However on Turbocharged cars there is the extra fuelling required for higher boost that will make mpg suffer.

The opposite. JWT is about the mildest out there. It urges on the farside of Safe, runs richer than most other maps with milder timing.

You may find that a more aggresive chip will not only give you better performance, but better fuel economy too as it wont run as rich.

My bad :slap:

If you drive it the same it wouldn't generally make much difference. Mine has been chipped fro years with one variant of another and it tends to do about 22mpg or 280-330 per tank.

some eproms improve performance and improve fuel economy at the same time. Does on my s14a

These cars will be as economical as your right foot can be.

Mine has gone as low as 11mpg when i was doing short cold runs 1 1/2 miles a day to work and back.

Its also done brighton and back on a full tank (nearly 400 miles).

That was all before the chip and boost contoller.

But if i drive it steady on a run i can still get it into the 30's

mine was terrible round town when first chipped 9 - 11 mpg driving nomal but more or less the same on a run, but seems to be improving as time goes on....

well 160 of the 200 was at 70mph.

70 is one of those speeds I never drive at.

It's either 60 ish on an A road or 120 on the motorway

Chipping with one of the decent name chips should actually improve economy slightly but as you generally increase the boost there's more power to be had when you boot it = more fuel used than stock.

On a long run it will be just the same.
