Have a 1990 300ZX. Engine cuts out when at steady speed -- just like turning the key off. Any speed, any temperature. Need to back off throttle and then reapply throttle to keep running. Intermittent. Does not cut out under acceleration, ever. Recent fuel and air filters. Reseated two big connectors front of engine right side (from drivers seat). Biggest connector has green male and female contacts. Burnished male connectors -- cannot get to female connectors.

hello all me again, my car came with venom alloys which look quite nice, (altho only seem to be 16") it has 225 50 ZR16's on all round front 2 ok but havent been in road in 2 years, and back 2 buggered! is this the correct size? should the backs not be bigger than the fronts? maybe not, your wealth of experiance and wisdom is appreciated, dont wanna fork out for the wrong ones. i took my cheap and nasty boost gauge out yesterday after finding a blitz item in with all the spare parts that came with the car (cheers paul ;) ) after fitting it i found i wasnt running the boost i thought i was due to the crap gauge so i turned the boost controller up bit by bit till i got to 1bar it was a cool nite and now am worried incase when the warmer weather comes it mite detonate due to me setting the boost on a cool nite? car is chipped, uprated smic's, upgraded tubs, exhaust etc

hi all, can i have a little info about turbo boost please, I am fairly new to all this, (gimmie dellorto carbs and i am in my element) I am talking to a guy about how to refurb my turbos and he reccomends a 360 bearing for anything over 10psi?? my car (when i get it on the road) will be pretty much stock and is a UK auto, but might consider playing with it in the future. the bearings add another £50 each onto the price and i have no idea what they do? can anyone gimmie a clue? how much boost do the tubs give? how do you increase it? oh and is it worth altering the chip in the ecu, or is the stock one good enough!! Sorry again for my ignorance but i am learning (i think!!…

Hello everyone, I have some Greddy TD05 16G turbos which have basically just sat around doing nothing. They were reconditioned by nend and have not been used since. My engine is pretty standard, well worse than standard actually What sort of mods should i make to actually get any use out of these turbos as im assuming they wouldn't be much use on a standard engine would they? I don't know (Oh and this is assuming that i have a normal engine and not a crap one)

Just has the Police at my door and charged me on having no tax, no insurance and no MOT. I bought my Z as a project to keep me occupied as i have a bad heart and don't work anymore. Now the car is on SORN and as it don't move as the engine and gearbox is out i haven't bothered with insurance as its off the road and going no where. I have had it parked up at the front of my house off the road where i have been working on it when i can, but the Police say it still counts as on the road even though in the pics you can see its off the road and not obstructing traffic. Any help and advice as to where i stand on this is much appreciated as i genuinly thought i was doing nothi…

Strange thing this.... I live on a gentle slop (in wales...yeah right), the other day I started the car and smoke started to gently blow from the near side exhaust, but the offside was fine. I drove that car to work and parked up; checked the exhaust and all was well, not some much of wiff of anything wrong. Drove home all ok... but this time reversed the car onto my drive. Started her up the following morning and this time the offside was blowing smoke..... I ALWAYS let the engine run down for 3/5 mins after driving anywhere. Is there any reason why the turbos appear to be retaining some oil when parked sideways on a slope? I don't think it's my turbo's. …

Hi All I've not been very active posting on here for a long time and those that know me will know the reasons why ;) One of the main problems is that my Zed's been off the road for well over a year now! The reason for this post is that I've finally got around to getting the car worked on today, and with a bit of luck and a fair wind, I may even be back on the road next week  Please keep your fingers crossed for me and I will keep you all posted... I really can't wait to get to a club meet again! CheerZ Steve :)

the Z comes with twin exhausts which looks great and the cars wouldnt look the same without them but IMO the single exit sounds better, just wondering what you lot think :D does anybody have any sound clips or videos to help ppl decide?
