Note: I have done several searches and found little conclusive in regards to my issue. I have a 1990 Jspec 300zx which I just finnished importing from the UK to Canada. It's been an amazing car except in thunder storms and when it's insanely humid out. I understand that it gets way more humid Canada than the UK. I was getting a code 12 @ one point (MAF) but that went away when I sprayed the MAF connector w/ dampening and water sealant sprays. I am now getting no codes but it still missfires/bogs down whenever the humidity is above 75% while it's above 25 C outside. mine has become light again when driving slow since this wet weather and its how i want to keep it. anybody know which connector generally gets affected by water on the steering system . my power steering is intermittant. well sort of working but heavier then it should be while driving slow. but the last few days its a pleasure to drive and park.

the check light stop working some time ago ,i've checked the bulb and is ok what esle can it be ?

Not sure if this is the right place to post this but i will stick in the place that get most read....... was at my local scrappie today to see if they had any zeds in (they didnt) and saw a zed convertible in the car park. I asked the fella at the desk if he knew anything about it and he said it was a recovered stolen and they were just waiting to get the replacement key through for it and check if it was running then it was going to auction. from looking at it myself it is left hand drive, import of some kind, late model with drivers air bag, convertible, white, auto (i think). just wondering where you lot mounted your boost controller if you have one, going to be putting mine in soon, and dont know the best place to mount it, so as it doesnt look out of place.

would removing of any of these 2 give me any more power? i aint got a clue :wack:

under the radio on my zed i just have a blank black plastic plate there,, any ideas what is ment to be there?

i just got mu zed back from the garage to have the clutch ,timing belts and an oil leek srted.. three times i collected it three times it conked out .. finaly got it away but it dosent feel right , wont tick over steady and if i accelerate fast it has a massive flat spot ... cant seem to see anything wrong just dosnt feel right any one help cheers .. :headvswal

hello peeps, what am to do? i've blown tubs. now have about 1100 - 1400 quid sitting there. should i go for reconditioned standards or has anyone got any decent sites they know of that could be of some help? i've tried z1motorsport. didnt know if there were any jap sites or uk websites or if anyone has got any second hand aftermarket sets for sale? any info would be helpful. cheers

Hi guys, bought my 300 a couple of months ago and when i bought it, the bloke who sold it to me told me that the speedo is 20% out. The dials are in mph but i think the speedo is still set up for kph. any way to fix this?? :confused:

Wow dont i feel like an idiot!just bought a 300zed and has been working fine for 2weeks now no probs! HAs Toad Ai606 alarm and i will walk up to car unlock fine hope in and turn the key and it will not let me go past the On part so i cant start her up!I get to the part where the Battery lights cum on but no further it wont let me past!!! It had done it once or twice but only when i had walked off and not locked her e.g at a petrol station o something! I cant find a way around it and i cant even start my car!Has been sitting for a day solid now and still cant start! Want to take her to Jap show tomoz but if i cant start her cus of the key then wtf can i do!!!! Any…

just coz you own a zed doesnt mean u wanna race constantly i was just having a nice drive to paignton today then a black celica turbo appears slows right down waits for me to overtake then nails it, keeps slowin down and speedin up then gets stuck behind a truck decides to undertake and almost wipes us both out in a word what a plank!!!!! anyone else experienced this????

i recently caught my front bumper and it got tore off. i'm in the process of getting new bumper sprayed but the bodymen say i need a few parts as old ones are damaged. i've got most sorted hopefully, i am having difficulty in getting the two bits of metal that the bumper screws on to, on the sides below the quarter panel. anyone have any or know where to get?

hi guys, i got some bad news. i was involved in an accident at 2am this morning; some pedestrians ran across the road and i swerved out of the way to avoid them, and i went into a roadside barrier. i had the car transported to a damage repair specialist i know of... to think the amount of money i spent on the car in the past year... and it may now get written off. atleast no one got hurt i guess... what can ya do eh...

Well two :rofl: I was in a car park and met the lovely eileen and her husband prof, had a good chat with them both for about an hour. Two of the nicest people ive met, they were heading off to santa pod with both their cars loaded with duvets and beers :D Very nice to meet you both if you happen to see this on here and look forward to that meet :) 2nd Was a black zed with clear rear lights following a supra, it was on the A421 between the M1 and bedford which is where you were heading. Didnt get the chance to beep as by the time i saw you we were side by side. very nice clean looking zed. Also about 25 supras i kid you not!!! thats in about 1hr?!

ok, another query i have.... Whenever i apply my brake above 40mph, i get a bit of a harsh shudder. I thinking along the lines of warped discs, and since i dont know if it's the front or rear ones, i was looking to change them all.......just to be on the safe side! Anyway.....i've EBC discs and mintex pads on zcentre and just wondered what experience people have on these????

Im pretty bored at the moment so decided after recently finding out that no 99specs could be imported to the UK decided to see whether they could be to Ireland so went onto the VRT calculator website and a 91 zed has a vrt of 1800 and 99spec has a vrt of 3800! So its possible to import a 99spec without a model report in Ireland!

i'll shortly by having my engine rebuilt and my tubbies refurbed with 360 degree b/bs. im keeping standard internals, 555's with suitable chip, uprated oil pump, manual cams (my car was an auto and still has the auto cams), manual spec turbos after refurb. while this is being done i'd like to spend just a bit more on various bits and bobs. im thinking: Series 2 PTU (my S1 has been fine but you never know) Uprated sidemount intercoolers (although my bumper is blended in so my options could be limited) (possibly) Greg Dupree divorced downpipes water bypass around plenum (can someone tell me more about this) i had the option of forged pistons but tbh i really…
