Has anyone ever removed their needles?

i removed mine to fit some led's behind the needle to give them a extra glow but not been able to test it all works yet. lil concerned that i busted it buy pulling the needles off.

Only prob is i'm not sure i got them back 100% in the same position.

i ended up doing this with mine by accident. had a right job getting them right again, & my rev needle still isnt right, the temp doesnt go half way as it did before either. cant be arsed at the moment to take it back out. make sure they go back to the stop pin on their own and are free, but not the petrol one, thats not free so dont force it.
