you buy a car from a trader with 6 months warranty... a week or so after the purchase you find that the engine is actually buggered and a new one is needed... the car is booked in to a garage to be repaired but because of awaiting the availability of another engine the car is in the garage for a long period of time... when i do eventually get it back there will be next to fook all left of the warranty period so if the new engine causes any probs i would have to fit the bill... so basically since purchasing the car iv hardly driven it and had to seek permission from the person i bought it from to join the z parade at silverstone. any advice welcome :)

Just wondered if they affect the bulb warning panel on the dash, and if they are any good at all? Also vaguely remember a thread on the brake light bulbs that flash when you touch the brakes but can't find it, can someone give me a pointer?

As many of you may be aware, Andy was issued with a temporary one month ban last Wednesday for continuing to post anti-club and anti-committee comments on the board. Andy has requested I post the following statement from himself In light of Andy's apology, the Committee has decided to lift his ban. Andy is fully aware of the Club's AUP and understands he's on his last chance. As far as the Committee is concerned, this matter is now closed. Thanks Steve-300ZX Membership Secretary

  6. had my car rolling roaded today and it put out 356.9@ the flywheel with around 385ftlb torque, i was hoping for closer to 400bhp as i have seen better figures with less mods, i was going to upgrade to 555's so i could run more boost but was told i cant run anymore than 1bar(which im already running) without causing det, would upgrading to 555's give a performance increase or is it just for peace of mind ie knowing there will be sufficient fuel for 1bar boost? if i want to run more than 1 bar i will have to upgrade the pistons and if im upgrading the pistons i might aswell uprgade the con rods aswell and so on and so on to make labour costs more effective, how much would i…

  7. If so, I bring you a little bit of relief. Just spoke to Martyn, the garage is not flooded as it is on higher ground, so your car is not under water, although I did have muchos funos winding Andy Line up on the phone just now saying that our cars were actually underwater... I was going to take it further with the residue in the water will cause all his gold plating to irode and rust, but I couldn't lower myself to that level. :duffer:

:( Got my zed stranded on a flooded road last night. spluttered popped and cut out in about a foot of water. :headvswal I have a mushroom air filter fitted and think it's probably pulled water into the engine. Managed to get towed out and parked it up to dry. all electrics seem fine but engine wont turn... I think engine may have seized but what do you guy think? any ideas? any idea how much I would be looking at for a replacement engine? anyone want the car for spares or repair? It's a '91 Jap spec TT auto

  11. My manager just came in and said one of the guys at Blue Square (?) owns a reddy orange zed with a personalised plate? They've just been for a meeting there and recognised what car it was. Apparently it has a fairlady badge on the back? Who's is that then? :D

Following on from my massive success on the rev limiter post lmao, I'm wondering about one of these. I remember talking to Jay about them and he thought that the way they limited the RPM was a bit ropey, but we didn't decide in the end whether to try one. Anyway, I'm looking at adapting a secondary rev limiter to make a FTS kit. I'm guessing if the Bee-r works ok as a rev limiter, just have a microswitch on the clutch pedal connecting the positive circuit to the rev limiter so it kicks in when you clutch it. Any thoughts? And has anyone actually used one? Cheers!

I have just brought a set of samco silicon top and bottom rad hoses to replace my leaky standard rubber ones. I have an aftermarket water temp gauge that used to have the sensor going into the top hose (hot water out of engine). As the samco top hoses has quite a pronounced bend in the top pipe (presumably for thermal expansion or turbulent mixing purposes) it would have been impossible to fit the adaptor holding the temp sensor into this pipe because it would not fit properly and be leaky. I fitted it to the bottom hoses instead as this has big straight lengths which makes it easy to fit. i realised i would have to figure out the temp drop through the rad (whi…
