Hi can you tell the year of manufacture from the chassis plate or anything else ,i dont think my v5 is right mot says year of manufacture says 94 but its on a h plate 91 .IT was mot,d when imported with jap plate on ,then mot was alterd when registered my mot has the chassis code in the reg space crossed out with new reg plate h reg .Its a swb slicktop import thanks taff.

Im intending to change my outo geer box oil this weekend. I've done a forum search so i think i'm there with it. Where can i get a 300zx haynes manual?? i believe i drain the oil out and clean the filter (where is this please??) Then how long do i run it so that i can drain it again to remove all the old oil before topping it up with fresh??? Is the oil drain on the sump of the geer box?? And finaly (most importantly) what oil?? Sorry if i seem a bit dim. I'll be more clued up on it as i work on the car more..

Well after doing some searching around it looks like my heater matrix is fubar :headvswal :( :headvswal so I'm going to by-pass it for the mo, just wondering if anyone knows the dimensions of the bit of hose i'll need to do this, and what kind of places could I get it in? i get a couple of drips of oil a night from the bacK of the engine but im getting the dreaded oily smell and smoKe from the exhaust, could this be oil from the cranK seal? anyone Know how much to get sorted? yanKs guys leg nose

anyone got one, i removed a pipe from the plenum balance bar and it made my car run better, idle was great, and the car ran brilliantly with no hesitation at alcould i run car with this dissconected (if it is what i think it is)

Most of the time the car drives normal, then occasionally the tick over fluctuates between 1000 and 1500 then up to 2000, the engine goes lumpy then the fault clears. Has anyone any ideas what this could be? My nearest Nissan agents are no help at all, they would be if I wanted spotty kids changing the oil on my Micra! Any help or suggestions would be appreciated as I am a new member with a new toy. Thanks Mick

I have neglected my exhaust a bit when it has come to cleaning my car. I sometimes wipe the sponge over it but it makes no difference to the exhaust pipe and makes the sponge really dirty. I know there must be proper methods and proper product to clean and polish up the exhaust and just need a bit of guidance and recomendation from you guys.

what could cause a lack of lowdown torque, if im in fifth gear doing about 35-40 it sounds like it's going to stall, it really has no torque when in any other gear either, like in traffic in second, it really doesnt wwant to start picking up till around 3500 4000, sometime's i have to put it into first gear to get it going again, sometimes it runs great with loads of low down torque and sometimes it runs like shite and even backfires once you have it going and release off the throttle

how easy is this to take off and clean, usually a dip in some wd40 cleans them up inside right????? also when i disconect the yellow connector wiith the engine runing should the engine revs change, as mine didnt, really want to get to the bottom of my rough running also would this have something to do with the car nearlly stalling every time i pull away, i have to keep dipping the clutch or lurching forward with lots of revs

driving home on an open road gave it a bit nothing to heavy , would love to say what mph but speed sensor playing up , all of a sudden you would just think id put the anchors on , really sudden z slows down, any suggestions, had the z 7yrs , new cambelt in january, 300tt auto import, all help most appreciated, thanks

HEY GUYS! Ive been asked what Z I had when Ive come to service my car. I said I think its the Z32 he said thats a quad cam engine, needed to know for changing the cam belt. Although on the engine it just says nissan 24v twin cam. my car is a 91 Jspec 300zx non turbo SWB. VG30DE engine model? But is it two per banks as in quadcam ? Sorry newbie trying to learn and get a cheap service. Is £360 a lot for a cam belt change?

300zx, wing mirrors stopped working, back wipers and the clock. Some sort of fuse gone? Where would I find this fuse. appriciate some help thanks

The brake pipes are corroded and as a reult it has failed its MOT. Any idea how much I could be looking at to get them replaced? Nissan reckon about £450!

Hi everyone im Sarah and ive got a jap import zx twin turbo which ive had for 3 weeks and i love the car but the lights are crap. Not sure if they are set up right or not can you help? When i put on side lights i get the small spot lights on and front fogs on. When i turn to the normal lights i get the same lights but brighter and if i put the full beam on i get all the lights! Is this right???? Driving at night is a nightmare......Also does anyone know where i can get a passenger wing from and a good sprayer as some A..hole hit my car in Tesco's car park and it needs new wing and front spraying. :mad:

Just fitted the new engine and it has an ebay unorthordox type crank pully on it. the stock fan/alternator belt is now the wrong size. to the people running these, what size belt are you using (should say on the belt) mechanic found one that fit but its old and squeeks like a mouse on crack! It has no markings on it so cant tell the size. Got it fitted to get the car running, need to get the size without taking it off again to trace round it if possible.

Hi Guys, I am looking to get some dials and wondered what other people had gone for. I quite like the smoked look and pref would like something that goes with my blue dash lights .e.t.c. I dont want to spend an absolute fortune but want something half decent. p.s I am only looking for oil pressure and water temp as my boost controller is on show in place of the old clock. I have a very loud and rather embarasing squeek coming from my rear end :x: its in time with the revolutions of the wheels but i can't destinguish that is coming froma specific side. Its only under power not breaking. That includes coasting (in an auto) at low speed etc Doesn't seem to change if i pull the handbreak up a bit Could it be a warn bush making puting the axle in a slightly wrong position?? Or the handbreak disc or pads (if it has them??) Diff??? I'm sure its not coming from one side.
