just got my zed back from the garage 4 weeks in total .was running sweet before never missed a beat, went in for cam belt, clutch , oik leak , alty tried collecting it 3 times each time it broke down with 1/4 mile from garage then when i got it home it had a massive flat spot and a water leak ...he didnt change it when he did the belts. total cost £2000 picke it up last night broke down got it home ..ticks over then slows right down till it just about runs with a fast ticking noise as it just ticking over any ideas .. the garage says its the wireing cos he said its got a bit britle in the harnes but its not trustworthy to drive no more ..he blames eve…

Hey guys Just got my car back from Simpsons, they reckon 1500 quid just to get it road worthy. And then more to get it up to scratch. They also reckon that the power quoted by the guy I bought it off is dreaming. I bought off this site cos I thought it would give me some kind of assurance but nope. Front leaking oil big style, front end crashed and bent and repaired to cover it up, hicas dripping fluid where the pipes have just been cut off, suspension stuffed and brakes stuffed. And thats just to get it road worthy, they havent had the engine open yet Im not holding my breath. Am gonna get it fixed I think and rescue the car but just thought Id pu…

had a bit of a strange problem today. was going along at 50 in fifth in some roadworks on the motorway and all of a sudden i lost all drive. changed gears a bit and got some drive back and as soon as i was driving at 50 in 5th it happened again. andy ideas what caused this? cheers alex

Hi I believe that one of the wastegates on my car has been stuck closed as the car is overboosting hughly. Can anyone tell me what parts I need to fix this, and what it involves. ie if I had the new parts, is it a job that any competent mechanic could do or do I need to take it to a specialist. Just had my coolant changed and lost my water wetter:( It made a fair differance to the cooling temp so I need to stick another bottle in the rad can anyone confirm if there is more than one type?

trying to get my engine out , now the harness that goes down the centre of the plenum which holds coil packs, and injectors i think. i've unplugged the packs but having trouble with injectors if thats what they are. how do you get them off. do you simply pull them off?

just out of interest, those that have broken their zeds for sale, how much did you make???

I've seen one on ebay that looks as if it's an air filter :confused: and it looks quite 'blingy' but can I use one on my '95 N/A? Cheers - Dave

When the AIV lines are disconnected from the exZhaust is it important to bung the lines up? What would happen if they were just left open? Appreciate any advice on this as my mechanic is only waiting on this and then I can finally get my Z back! Cheers

Is the forward Exhaust up to cat back of the SWB NA the same as the LWB NA??

Heater fan not working as in blowers for screan etc., but if I switch auto/aircon on it does. Is it a fuse or a wiring gremlin?

:shock: I put a thread on here about 3 days ago regarding my rubber I have turnados with a little tread on the back and runways on the front. I can now say believe it or not I havnt been able to loose the back end!!! i have tried whist going round corners and even from standing! (in the dry) I know someone said on here that they were malysian budget tyres but i kid you not. :shock:

I have an aftermarket kit and have disconnected the cc in the car, yesterday i disconnected the cable on the left (as you look from the front) which i assume is the cruise control cable. my question is : the cable runs to a black unit and then to a box in the upper drivers side of the engine bay, can i just remove all of this or will it affect anything else? cheers Speed

Just out of curiosity, those with an SP30 with a ban what difference did it make to your insurance? One of my colleagues is saying it's going to be on a par with a DD10 (Drink Driving) ban, and I can't see it being that much.

do any technos know if the Nismo 555 are the same as the Denso 550 injector the part numbers are identical and they look identical , is it the same scenario as Jun using cosworth to make their pistons then re badging and charging a fortune for them , as Denso injectors are a good 100 quid cheaper .........why pay for a name ....... Bit vague i know.....but. Just got my first Zed and i know i aint posted any pics but my car is a metallic blue, pretty sure its a standard colour, is it called "Marine blue" does anyone know ? I am too lazy to go outside now and take of the slam panel thingy to find the paint code, i just though someone might know what the name of the standard blue colour was. My electric fan doesn't work and i've been trying to figure out why. First port of call was the relay box, there is 'RAD FAN' and 'SUB FAN' relays in there, which one is right? The relays in both of those are blue ones the same as the aircon one, I know the a/c works so i swapped over the both of these relays with the a/c one and it was still dead so I guess that rules out that. Is there a fuse for the fan? I read the footwell fuse box translation and there isn't one in there, maybe one in the other box behind the suspension turret? Is there anything else that might cause it not to work, other than a dead motor? I've been trying to make it start with th…

I know Vinz has just posted a similar thread but this is in a slightly different league. A few weeks ago now my car was hit while parked up, and I have managed to convince them to give me a full 4 wheel race alignment. Some time ago I found 2 places that could do it Weltmeister and Racing Developments which isn't responding for me at the moment. Does anyone else have any recomendations for other places that can do a FULL 4 wheel alignment? Thank you
