Hi Now in the stage of putting my engine back together after rebuild, unfortunately the majority of tags i put on plugs, pipes etc are not readable (woopsy) I saw a colour diagram a little while ago on here which noted what all the plugs were for and what connected to what. Tried to search for it but cant find it, tried 300zx manual and that isnt much help for me. Anyone know of the diagram or where i could try?

I have just fitted an Autogauge Air Fuel gauge to my Zed using the pin on the Ecu as stated here:- http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=33722 Problem is that when I started her up she idled really high and wouldnt come down even after a 5 min drive around town. Is this something to do with disconnecting the ECU from the battery? I have only checked it once so far but thought it best to check before I do any damage by driving her!! Thanks in advance

I am taking the engine out as after getting the inlet manifold off and fighting with the heads (which I lost) I figure it's easier. After a whole afternoon of searching I've found this link http://www.symatix.co.uk/300zx/EngineRemoval/EngineRemoval.htm but it doesn't work :headvswal I have read leaving the autobox is easier and also servicing the tubs to at the same time but can't find a guide for the removal anywhere, any pointing in the right direction would be appreciated. If anyone in the Cardiff area has done this before and would like to help (quite happy to supply a fee and tea) then let me know. thanks

In the Jap built Z; are the wires going to the Ecu different to the Uk and other models? Installing a boost controller at the mo, but the wires are different to where I looked them up. Throttle, rpm, ground etc.. Has anyone got any diagrams / charts to show what the functions are in a 91TT Jspec car? Cheers.

  11. hi guys, Drove to london yesterday in the zed, whilst on route i felt a slight scrape when on a country road however it only felt like a bumper scrape as i wasnt travelling fast at the time, checked it brieflt at the petrol station shortly after and seemed fine. HOWEVER, once i got to london and got the car parked and came back to it an hour later oil was leaking and had pretty much drained out all of the oil and i could see it was blatently coming from the bottom of the oil sump. The aa came out however reluctantly informed me there was a couple fresh scrapes and the aa would not tow it back as its not covered! after some negotiation and a good chat i managed to g…

Hi all OK swapped the loom for a new one and have replaced the IACV. But I have been left with a misfire. All injectors are connected and I cant find any problems with hoses etc. Do you think it could be that the sensor on attached to the hose on off the IACV is stuffed? There was oil in my air pipes so this will no be in the sensor Im guessing. Would this cause a misfire? Thanks for any help Ill try your ideas on Saturday and see how we go.

A few weeks ago there was a thread about High idle speed on car converted from Auto to Manual. It was mentioned that one of the pins on the ECU needed to be Earthed to ensure the ECU recieves the correct TPS signal. I've been ask by a friend about this, but i can't find the thread and beleive me I have been trying but to no avail.

Having a problem with my dash lights and rear lights, in that neither work! Iv narrowed it down to a earthing problem (i think) as i have checked all the fuses and changed the headlight pod and still no joy.... When i turn the lights on the front lights work, but the air con temp lights do not dim, none of the dash or auto box lights come on and neither do the rear lights. if anyone had any better ideas as to what it could be then im open to ideas, but i think its an earth coming off the light pod that is the problem.. So, has anyone got any ideas as to what wire i need to re-earth?

Whats the best way of getting more stopping power. brake fade not so important as Im not track-daying it. Looking for more bite. Is it worth upgrading rear brakes at same time. Will them Brembo with 350mm discs do the job? or is there better? I thought the brembos were from the Skyline GTR and 6 pots? ta

I know, im asking too many questions, but i guess a new owner, i have to ask someone ha ha ha My car feels fine, steering is same all way full lock to full lock, But, once the speed goes over around 40 to 50 the steering wheel slowly goes off center by about an eight of a turn to the left. Once the speed drops below about 40 it once again goes back to sitting at normal position. I have a red hicas light, and once that lights up, the problem doesn't happen. Now from my understanding hicas is the rear steering ? but i was told this was disconnected due to it being terrible, again not sure if that is true ? how does this happen, and why and mo…

Whacked the ZED on consult the other day and was playing with everything as you do! I noticed that I could not switch on the fast side of the fan but it worked on the slow side. Has anyone else experienced this? and what did you do to fix it? I'm thinking that as I bought the car as a basket case with the headgasket gone its probably important to make sure all the cooling is correct. jase
