Heres a little guide whilst I serviced mine. I was trying to locate a rattle noise that has been annoying me for the past few weeks, this was like a ticking noise behind the glove-box only with the fan on low speed and as the car was pulling away in low gear. 1: Remove glove-box so you can see more, also remove the plastic trim that is underneath the glove box. You might not need to do this to get the motor out but i did it anyway. 2: You'll be able to see the blower fan housing on the left. look underneath to fine the motor part which is held on with 3 screws. Disconnect the harness plug and also there is a little black ribbed tube. Mine had a rubbe…

Im bored and curious LOL , so which Interior trim did you Zed originally come with (just the door and dash panels...not the seats) - 1. Grey Tweed (most common - Series 1 cars) 2. Blue Tweed (rare option for Series 1 Saphire blue Z32's) 3. Black Tweed (Later series cars) 4. Blue Velour (series 2) 5. Grey Alcantra (series 2/3) Pics borrowed mostly from owners rides, hope they dont mind :)

I've had a look through the how-tos on here and another Z site, but couldn't find anything suitable. Can anyone point me in the right direction for a how-to on changing the headlight bulbs? And also for changing the side repeaters (bulbs and covers) Finally, how many posts before you are allowed an avatar and sig? 50?

When i bought my Z it had a cheapo black tint on the rear windscreen. This was the type where it's like a film of plastic with some kind of tinting dye underneath. It had bubbled and it was impossible to see anyting out of that window. I've managed to remove the film without taking any of the heater elements with it, but the screen is still covered with this kind of powdery black residue that seems stuck fast. On someone's advice, i tried white spirit and a plastic kitchen scouring pad. This does work, but it takes forever, and as you can imagine it's an awkward angle to be scrubbing. In about half an hour i had only managed to clear about a 3 inch square off the …

ok how much do these go for with forged internals, gearbox etc? and how easy are tehy to get into a zed. :slap: A mate just bought a zed with no engine of gear box for £300, its in so so condition but he was pondering putting a skyline engine in there as they seem a lot less expencive to tune. He wants it for a track day car.

Further to my thread rE: bumper protection my first day back into my 'home' office after a while away sees the new mountain of a speed ramp rip the right side of my rear bumper away from the car! It's had a few bangs in the past, but this time I see two bolts and some sheared metal. I've tried to knock it back into place but to no avail! Can anyone refer me to a good place to get this sorted that won't rip me off..? I have no idea how much these things should cost to fix...fingers crossed!! Also, is it safe to still commute in this vehicle? The bumper isn't flailing but is clearly not aligned with the body of the car!! Lookin for a speedy …

I was one of the thousands of people stuck on the M25 on Friday, but I was one of the lucky one's because I was in my zx, not sure what the out side temp was but it felt like 25 degrees but the car never missed a beat in the nine hours  that I sat in the traffic, the engine temp needle never moved above it's normal possition and the engine started first time when ever I needed it too, I was well pleased with the way the car handled the heat.

Hi. I have the R33 brembo upgrade and I think I have wharped a disk. The disks I have at the moment are EBC and seemed fine until a high speed slow down. So do I go for something like these. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NISSAN-SKYLINE-PERFORMANCE-FRICTION-BRAKE-ROTORS-X-2_W0QQitemZ190138674687QQihZ009QQcategoryZ10402QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem A lot of money or do I get some more EBC ones? Or can someone recommend something else. Remmeber it is for the skyline set up though. Darrell

First of all what are causes of turbo lag ??? I have a slight exhaust leak and i believe that it could be coming from the manifold somewhere on the passenge side but its not particulaly bad . The boost dosnt relly come in till 4000rpm !! could this slight leak be causing this ??? even with this leak i had it dynoed last week at 385.8 bhp at 0.9 bar . On the graph you can see this but when the boost comes in the boost curve is very steep its not smooth . The technician thinks the car might have bigger turbos on, and thinks this might be causing the lag i bought the car blind and dont know its history what i know is that its got an evc 3 and an apexi afc and a hks fmic i m…

Guys we are driving around in 17 year old cars, doesnt that ever make you wonder whats going to go wrong next, this thread is in the name of preventative maintenance, today i decided to reunderseal the Z, glad i did, there were a few patches where the metal was starting to show through and a few scrapes from the speedbump grind dance, in my eyes for a few quid and a few hours it was worth it. Any other people want to add preventative goodies to the thread feel free, it may save us some money in the long run.
