General Discussions - 300ZX Related

Can anyone tell me how to remove the black trim strips that run along the side of the targa roofs and the edge of the windscreen without damaging them cos i want to recoat them as the black plastic coating is all peeling off.Any ideas would be appreciated.

hi last wednesday my 91tt went in to a garage with a funny noise they told me it was a loose cam belt and the timing was out by 2 teeth so i told them to change it i just recieved a texy from the garage askin where i would get a tensioner from cant believe it thought i would be gettin it back today and the real pi** take is that a trader on here told me to take it to his garage and they would do it and for much less :headvswal :cry:

hi z mates. i have just got a new alloy koyo radiator, but the original fixing brackets are to small, it wont hold it in place, is there a replacement brackets i can get, if so where can i get them. regards big mo

hi All. New kid ont he block here who is looking to be buyin a 300ZX soon after christmas. :dance: I am after a little advice on how much am I better off saving before I go out a buy one????? I am not sure whether I am better off buying standard and working from scratch to mod....or am I better off saving longer and buyin one already modded???? My Z passed its MOT at last, YAY!!!! the bad news is its stuck at the test centre with a flat battery!! had it started for ages too, and the Batt light is coming on and going out as it should, anyone know any common charging faults, I have had the engine out so could this be a bad connection? would the light still behave if thats what it was. Thanks

Last Friday / Saturday (too much to drink, can't remember), spotted a Dark blue Z in Ramsgate near the Casino. Noticed it had different break light clusters, bodykit? (Everything was a blur :duffer: ). So, where's the owner! Is he/she even a member on here? Used to see loads of Zs flying about these areas! What's happened to them?

Hi Guys, just fitting decat pipes to my 90TT. What do you do with the Exhaust recirc rubber pipes from the old front pipes? Do you just tie them up or do you have to block them or do you join one side to the other? Will I need to do anything anywhere else on the engine IE with EGR valves etc. Regards Jase

I've gone for a Doolz induction set up (single AFM). I have a chip for it (thanks AndyP - not got the car back yet, but once I do I'll contact you for payment etc.). However after speaking to Eric about tick over he suggested I balance the air to the TB with a balance bar. i.e. something like this: I've managed to get a nice long piece of stainless steel tubing, but I will need to have my current Stainless Steel hardpipes fabricated with a nipple so I can attach the balance bar to it with some small silicone hoses. Any ideas where the best place to get this done would be ?

apart from a load at the rolling road day..... 1. m25 anti-clock leaving at m3 junction on friday about 5pm. dark red with targas off. Let you in when you were diving in and out of lanes 2. m3 London bound about 5.30pm friday. Red Z steaming up the outside lane. I was going southbound so you probably didnt see me. 3. a z31 on chiswick high road sunday afternoon.

Well dropped my eldest daughter off at her Aunties for a week so thought i'd pop in and see how the cars coming on :) I spoke to the sprayer earlier on i the day and he was away playing golf but told me where the car was so off i went.................. and here's what greeted me.................................................... . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Seen today around 1 o'clock Met Grey with Nismo sun strip, on Straight Road approching Gallows Corner roundabout. Dont think you saw me when i turned into Straight Road off the roundabout as you was going too fast as you went past and i think i had my cloaking device on lol. But you was wearing a peaked cap

right so i fitted my new air con pump today because my old one has been seized ever since iv had the zed, now my question is that is it only the power steering belt i will have to remove to fit the new air con belt and is it an easy job to do? cheers in advance Nick

Guys, Anyone know of a good mobile auto electrician as my leccy is completely f@cked! I think its groundin somewhere as when i wash it the horn goes off and i end up having to pull the fuse. and it now affects the headlights as well. But the headlights now seem to be f@cked all the time even when its dry, fuses look ok tho. Cheers Dan.

Hi all I took the IACV off and cleaned it and now the car runs like a dog, ie wont even move off without stalling and missfiring. Im assumin the IACV is stuffed so am waiting for another one. I took the iacv connector off and it crumbled in my hand and it had alredy been crimped onto the loom, nearly every connector on my loom is broken so I bought a LH loom from the states and have just finished putting it in! I have taken the dash out and the heater matrix which was also stuffed so am waiting for one of those from the good Mike at MJP. Took about 4 hours to get everything out and took about the same to put the new loom in the engine bay today! Im blo…
