New Motor.

hi All.

New kid ont he block here who is looking to be buyin a 300ZX soon after christmas.

I am after a little advice on how much am I better off saving before I go out a buy one?????

I am not sure whether I am better off buying standard and working from scratch to mod....or am I better off saving longer and buyin one already modded????

I was always a Rover turbo knut until recently my MOT ran out, i decided to get rid and save for something else I have always wanted, a 300ZX. As I now work in B'ham centre I don't use petrol and parking as I have just bought a Goped (Cheaper and quicker than buses) for commuting....leaving the beast for the week-end. And a h3ll of a lot more money toplay with.

Speak/see you all soon.

Dave

hello and welcome to the site.....

I'd find a good car... no rust, sound engine and mod it yourself - the way you want it etc - that way you get more pleasure out of it and actually feel good when someone comments instead of giving the previous owner all the credit.

completely up to you though! Good luck on the search for that perfect zed!

How do you want to mod it? Enginewise or bodywork wise? IMHO, go for one which has good documented engine work. You'll save some money in the long run. As for bodywork, well that's down the individual. Personally would go for one in the best original condition.

TBH, I want most work under the hood, with minor changes to the exterior. Almost like a sleeper. I want the usual as much power to the wheels as possible but at the same time I want it stable and reliable. My cash flow isn't great due to a large number of kids I have so all mods will be done one at a time.

they wont all fit in a zed ..... you might get 2 in the back..... and they got to be little ones - preferably ones that dont bounce about and move alot too ... :D

I agree with 300ZX-Girl. ALL of the work performed on my Rover was done by me, axcept for 2 christmas ago, at MOT time I have 2 CV Boots changed. Brrrrrrr too cold for me as I have no garage. lol

I prefered the ultimate feeling that I got from doing all of the work myself. My plans are to buy a nice big shed for the bottom of the garden, get a spare engine - and yes you've got a full rebuild with decent internall, etc.

I got it planned, my other half wants to get on the road ;-)

If she has a nice small 5 seater, as long as I have 4 seats , she is happy and I will def with a Zed. lol

hmm 5 seater plus 4 seater = 9 - minus mom and dad 7.....

wow thats alot of kids! hats off to you! :D Cant even deal with one sometimes!!

It's not too bad lol. Always been around large families. lol. Not having any more though, I couldn't cope with any more and my wallet feels the same. Anyway got permanent plans for that on the way, just waiting for a date for my erm "fuel line to be cut" so to speak. Not looking forward to it, but I wanna start having more fun as I get older. And a Zed TT is a definate part of that.

hello and welcome, keep your eyes on whats up for grabs on here, will give you an idea of what you will get and for what money
