I just had to insure my 2nd Zed and got the runaround from not only my current insurer but also others. However, I was happy to find Lynbrook Insurance thanks to a thread here who just sold me fully comp on a 1990 TT Z32 as a second car with 2,000 annual mileage for less then £200. Thanks, atc300zx .They also do "Laid-Up" Cover and Agreed Value and will even cover "Basket Cases" which they describe as "a collection of parts which, if assembled, could create most of a car". Might possibly be of use to some fellow members hehehe. They're in Mawdesley, Lancs on 0845 130 4662. I did a list of the insurers I asked for cover on my new L reg NA 2+2 Auto. It's not cheap be…

  7. As some of you will know I'm not using the speed sensor in the g'box, or the original speedo, so have left the rest of the electronics to sort out the steering weight. What happens is that after starting up the steering is very light, very nice to get out of the drive etc, and after about 15 secs the steering goes heavier and stays the same for the rest of the journey. The actual driving weight is fine but it would be nice, and hopefully simple, to have a switch to revert to lightweight mode on the odd occasion. Looking at the circuit the steering computer seems to take in various signals to activate the lightest weight, ie. handbrake on, but putting the handb…

Just to inform you all i have just discovered a new oil brand. It's called "Q Horse Power". It's recommended by Ferrari and is what they use in the Enzo. It's a little expensive and come in different grades but is well worth it. Now the downside. I have only seen the oil for sale in the states and you have to get it imported, but is well worth it. Even my M5 loves it. Check it for yourselves. http://www.Qpower.com

While I was working on my car today, a guy came in offering a water based solution that acts like Radweld but cos it's water based, you don't get the sludge build up. It fills the leak and then the rest stays in the cooling system untill it's flushed next. Also said it's a solution for a damaged heater matrix. Anyone ever heard of anything like this?

  22. Right then was at a cruise last night (got stopped by cops and giving a formal warning WAHEY!) And my mates were loving the Blow off valve in my car but they kept referring it as a Dump Valve and i kept having to say NO ITS NOT!!!! So my Question is What is the difference or is it the same thing?I though dumpvalve was more linked to the Exhuast system where as blow off was more to do with the Turbos but then again i am a Mechanical Idiot :P Let me know lads its good trivia this :) Thanks Munny P.s Any1 going to Ultimate Street Car Nxt wkend?

this ebay firm import lots of spares and are london based. looking to poss by box but I have seen many of their adverts and they all state box has only covered 30k which makes me a tad suspicious as well, they all can't have done this. I'm not slagging them off as you can only comment as you find and just wonder what others think of their service if used. cheers

  24. Spotted a nice 'H' plate with gold wheels (I think), driving through Maidstone town centre during the River Festival on Saturday afternoon; looking good! I was going the other way in a black cherokee, so if you saw me and missus giving you the thumbs up you may have wondered why! :D

Well after the other week http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=97530 I didn't change the tyres because it looks like I've sold my blue car and the guy doesn't want the wheels, which had almost new Bridgestones on and I will put on my little red. So went out on Sunday in Little Red as it was nice and Sunny, but it started to rain on the way back. I know how shit these tyre are so I was going really steady and it just begabd to about face on a long cambered bend. I hadn't eased off, touched the brakes or anything. I was doing about 40 on a bend I would normally take at 60+ in the rain with my TT. I really believe that there is something fundementally wr…
