Taken my car to the garage this morning to replace the O2 sensors just got a call from them saying it is too low to get on any of their ramps apart from the MOT ramp which is always being used. I said to them that the O2 sensors point up out of the engine bay so would of thought it would be easiest (or maybe even the only) way to get at them would be from above rather than underneath. They said they need to get at them from underneath and they cant help me. Is this correct or are they flobbing me off??? I am guessing they tried to put it onto the ramp to try and see them in the exhaust and couldnt get it on the ramp and just gave up without looking from above.

Changed spark plugs today... Went for a drive and one cylinder is not fireing.. Checked with datascan and it seems cylinder 2 is the one.. Anyone happen to know where cylinder 2 is located?? (Car is a left hand drive if that has anything to say)

A mate told me about this yesterday as it's been dumped on his way to work so I went to check it out. It was black, manual, with HKS dual dragger cans by the looks of it. Hey all Got my car back today suspension, brakes, steering and various other bits all fixed. Drives so much better and goes like a train. But Its very smoky. Driving along its fine low revs fine give but it some welly and cloud of smoke out of the back whitish grey. Pull up at lights and for a few seconds its smoky enough to get a bit through the drivers window and then fine until you really hoof it again. If I have it on the drive and rev it it will get to the top of the revs and puff out some smoke looks whitish blue so Im guessing its oil. The worst seem to be on gear chnage so on and then off the gas and on hoofing it. The car has divorc…

On my project, i heard tonight the sound of a mini dump valve kind of sound, happens just as you come off the thottle just like a dump valve would, is this a leak in the recirculation pipes somewhere, also running bit lumpy and hesitant when ever it feels like it Any ideas please :)

just driven home from work. Nothing unusual about journey, takes me about 20 mins. Got back and reversed to do 3 point turn. the turning area has a dip in it but has never caused me problems before despite low car. today it must of brushed the ground (took it a bit fast, low tyre pressure??) but thought it was ok because my dirt guard is loose so was probably that. parked up and noticed i have smoke coming up the the back/drivers corner of the bonnet. turned off and opened bonnet and smoke or steam coming up from the corner below where the ABS unit is. sounded like drops hitting something hot and vapourising. Ok here's the story..... I fitted a Smithy fuel line kit recently (sure its got nothin to do with it but just in case), the next day after fitting it the car started to sound like a rumbling V8 and it didn't have the same poke as usual. So, after searchin on here I realised it was a cylinder not firing. Had a root around today and sure enough the middle passenger side one isn't working. So far I've done the following but to no avail :confused: Fitted new spark plug (no change) Swapped coil pack with front cylinder (front still worked, middle didn't) Unpluged front connector and plugged into middle (still no good) So I've no idea whats wrong..........maybe…

does anyone know how far to push the toothbrush when cleaning the throttle bodies cheers im a complete dummy when it comes to mechanics

as the title says i get a hesitation at just under 100 and if i wana keep going have to put my foot to the floor. It dosent happen all the time tho! it's a UK TT auto. any ideas?

Hi, wonder if anyone can help me? Been having a strange problem lately ever since upgrading my 1.0mm boost jets to 0.8 ones... My Z is running hybrid Turbo's based on HKS 2530's so gives more airflow at 9psi than stock turbo's would and also running and Andy P stage 2 chip on stock injectors with a Blitz SUS airfilter... The problem i'm getting is a bit intermittent.. When I bury my foot in the carpet, the boost rises on my aftermarket guage to 1Bar and sometime the whole car will just cut out a bit like a fuel cut type scenario.. I've also tried nailing it also from 4000Rpm thinking it might of been a det sensor problem but it will still sometimes cut out... I'm no…

The engine shop said the instructions are missing, i assume they are after the torque settings. Does anyone know what they should be or better still could email me a copy of the needed information they are after. I'm in a lil hurry for this one, sorry.

does anyone in the northants area have a conzult i can use cause my 91 tt has something up with it its missfirin and the revs are goin up and down like mad and it sounds like a bag of bolts rattlin i had a missfire before and thor racin replaced 3 inj conns they said i need the throttle bodies and idle sensor cleanin out but i aint no mechanic cheers :headvswal

Sold my zed a few months ago now in order to buy either a cossie, evo or a skyline in that order, but now for £ to £ value i wish id never sold the zed! The escort cosworth is nowhere near the build quality the evo is just not for me and the skyline is well over priced for the quality im looking for even to come close to my old zed! So im now lost, :confused: and might end up with another zed :bow:

hi there 300 family im thinking of putting a new sound system in and im wanting 2 no will i need 2 get a bigger alternator,im just getting a new head unit amp and bass box.any help would b greatfull. :bow:
