Hi Guys, I am now officially the proud owner of my first 300zx, ive been a subscribed memeber for a few years now meticulously looking through all the new threads each night reading up about the 300 but only just bought my first one a month ago from auction! Its been in storage at home until ive just moved back, its a Red 1994 UK manual twin turbo. Full nissan service history which was absolute delight, the mileage is slightly high at 124k but it pulls like a train and is completely standard and seems unabused. (i hope!) Its due a service which im currently gathering the bits and pieces to undertake, it suffers from the erratic idling problem people have experience…

Afternoon all right i was driving my 300zx as you do and recently when i begin to brake even if it is gently i hear like a creaking from the brakes almost like its overstretched!im getting quite concerned as somedays i wil hear nothing and others everytime i touch the brake i can hear it!Seems to become worse the harder i press the brake! With this knowledge i believe it maybe the Brake Cable that is worn and perhaps wanting to snap?? Do you think this would be accurate??? If so would all i need to buy be SS BRAKE LINES as i see a trader on here selling 1set!Would this be all i need or is there a longer list of things i need to buy? Thanks all Munny

Just got my new engine fitted and it died a few feet from home :( not been able to start it since. Was having trouble with the injector connectors dropping cylinders but now have replaced all 6 of them. Car still wont start, tried another ptu as well, no ecu errors and timing is correct. Fitted a brand new set of plugs as the old ones were pretty ditched but nothing. When the new injector connectors were being soldered in we had to disconnect the battery as got a big spark when one of the bare injector wires touched the plenium as we were soldering. Mechanic says he has changed the injector plugs on 2 other zeds before and neither of those were live al…

  6. http://www.driftworks.com/forum/technical/39131-z32-afm-wiring-help.html As above , one of the drifty guys needs to know which wire on the MAF is just black and which is black with silver bands on. It just says two black ones in the manual: I've got to go for dinner :nana2: If anyone knows it would be great if you can post on there or let me know and I'll post later.

Was it you in a red Zed (most of the zeds in cornwall are red) who went past me going out of Penzance on the dual carriage way past the heliport by Maccy Dee's in hot pursuit or a Yellow motorbike ? I was not in my zed but a blue ickle nissan 100nx (a zed that shrank in the rain) LOL.

Hi, i am putting the last few bits back on my engine (hoses etc.) before it goes back in the car, i have had it out to do the turbos, now my question is that the vac pipes from the wategates go into the plumming which runs round the engine however not far above the tubs is a small solenoid which has a vac pipe from the big pipe going to the turbos, now there is a pipe joined into the wastegate vac pipes that is obviously supposed to go to the other side of the solenoid, the PO has removed them and bunged them up with bolts, any ideas why he would do this??, would this account for my turbo shaft snapping in half? and how would i test the solenoids work before i put the en…

Hi guys, I'm looking for some opinions on the pro's & con's of either fitting a JWT chipped ECU, or a Blitz chipped/re-mapped ECU? It is for a stock UK manual TT, fitted with aftermarket exhaust, Blitz SUS induction, and an Apexi AVC-R boost controller. I'm ideally looking for a plug & play chipped ECU, and nothing over the top aggresive wise. Also, are there any for sale? Thanks guys!!

had a play with an audi a3 20T against my Z today on a private course i used to use and it was quite an interesting result. this guy really wanted to play 1st gear neck and neck 2 gear he started to pull away but when i shifted into 3rd i nearly rammed the fooker up the arse. the a3 seemed to loose puff by the time he hit third. when i pulled over i even noticed i had the aircon on so it was sapping power from there. imo the a3 is a good shopping car.  btw for those who don't know i am only a NA swb manual

OK I have a question ... ... ... ... Can someone explain for me (in laymans terms) what PSi, Bar, Torque and boost acctually means/does? OK I am stupid but after a conversation with someone at work I know that thinks he knows everything I am even more concerned/confussed. He says that PSI and Bar are the same but its a UK and USA terminology? But I said it cant be because the lads in my club use them in the same tense and not as alternatives. He says you are wrong. I wont give him a right hander for saying that but told him to fook off. So please explain if you would what it all means so I can piss him off next week at work. thanks Vi…

gear box wont go into 3rd and 2nd!!! drained oil and cleaned magnet and filter / strainer filled with dex 111, still the same now im thinking may be torgue converter or solonoid??? Now is the torque converter in the box itself?? and were are the solonoids positioned?? And I know that alot of you are going to say MANUAL convertion time, so if it is a good idea could someone tell me where the best place to get the kit, and the approx cost of the kit??? I would plan on doing this myself, so any help from people who have done a previous one would be welcome. cheers

  24. Not sure how anyone else feels on this subject but my Zed is for social and pleasure use. I don't need it for comuting as i use the Tube. With all the environmental issues going on at the moment and stupid buzzwords like CARBON FOOTPRINT being thrown around i was thinking about my 18MPG (or less ;) ) of fuel im burning for no real reason other than selfish pleasure. As i said i don't comute in the Z but who does?? FOr those that do the journey could be made in a less fuel thirsty car? Do you feel bad about it?? Just to let you know where i stand on this, i don't feel guilty about driving my fuel guzzling Z for fun at all. I love it, is that selfish??
