General Discussions - 300ZX Related

my zed is using a lot of petrol and running crap AGAIN, it also revs at 2000rpm every now and then, also strong exhaust's fumes are getting into my car and it smells like its running really rich, i have the rear interior boot panels removed at the moment so i think that is how they are getting inn, but its getting worse any idea's

I got to prep my car for my local bodyship which includes removing my spoiler , its the 92 spec twin turbo spoiler made of rubber (some are carbon fibre i believe), ive been told its bonded on, is this true? whats the best way to remove it, and if anyones local to Stoke on Trent do you wana help me? :-) cheers guys Dan

What is the weight of the standard Zed front seats???

My car had one of these when I bought it, Anyone else got one or got some info on them ? what do they do for the car ? and are they good or would you be better off going for a JWT chip or somthing

Hi all and i hope you can help me, this is doing my head in, finally plumbed the engine and found out where all the hoses go but one, right here goes, there are vac pipes connect to the waste gates and boost solenoids above, this then comes round the front of each side of the engine, according to the manual these should then connect to the "boost gallery" and the "boost sensor" which should be somewhere under the air filter panel , mine are just connected in front of engine by vac hose, it has a hose tee'ed off this which looks like it has a boost jet crimped into the end, have no idea where this goes, and dosent it need the boost galley and sensor (which i cant find for …

Come on.... own up.... who is it I see everymorning going from Aylesbury towards Bicester when I'm coming to Aylesbury from Bicester ? Mines Green..... we've flashed a couple of times PS didn't put mine through the flood by the railway bridge near Bicester on friday night....turned round headed back towards Aylesbury, nearly got hit by a pr@tt in a Punto pulling out of a sideroad on the right...had to swerve onto the grass to miss him.... then went A41 to the M25, round onto the M1, stuck in the roadworks, up to the M6 to home took 4.5 hours !

As some other people have been experiencing vibrations in there cars... I had a bad judder throught the steering under braking over 40mph. Have changed the disks and pads and its cured it completely. It has also cured a very anoying squeek i was geting at low speed :hyper:

Hi Guys, I bought my Zed 3 years ago from the dock side (straight from Japan)with a knackered engine (head gasket), wife, kids, divorce have meant that it took me 3 years to rebuild the engine.(without the wife would of taken a week!) Finally got it running in January. Its 1990 TT auto and has cruise/A/C etc. So, history over, heres where I hope you can help. Firstly..... I want to Decat it but can only seem to find one kit on ebay and this kit does away with the EGR, I'm thinking EGR there for a reason or can you just leave it hanging?(so to speak) Secondly, the cruise control doesn't work over, what seems to be, 65/70 mph,is this due to japanese speed l…

ok i want to go faster.. :hyper: i want more pull on my z. a friend has been saying there may be parts of the engine i can remove to get some space for a better airfilter? is this true? also apparently there is something i can do to the exhaust system that'll give me more break?? any ideas? (as u can guess im not that great with engines so please dont be patronising about what ive written) :tongue:

Just been searching through some old threads and i think it may be the PTU, but wanted to ask for some extra help to make sure. Car ran fine yesterday, although i noticed that it misfired when pulling out of the petrol station, then went ok again almost immediately. went to start the car this morning and it wouldnt start, as if the battery was under charged, just kept clicking and not turning over. left the car for the morning and came back to it at lunch, to remove the battry and charge it. but the car started but now is only running on 4 cylinders. Afternoon all :D Well it's happened, Eliza has become extremely ill! And I mean EXTREMELY!!! I was driving down to Leicester on Friday evening, no problems all the way, until I got onto the M1, then I got a few 'coughs' and 'splutters'! Got off at junction 21a and pulled upto the traffic lights and Eliza died! Took a lot of starting again, then once it was started she was running very rough indeed. To cut a long story short, after a lot of dieing on me and restarting, I was eventually able to get to Karen's house. Hi guys,just joined site as im thinking of getting a 300 TT (that or a Mitsi GTO), was hopeing someone could tell me wot to look out for when im looking at one.

Is the DE crank the same as a DETT??

I removed all the trim today to clear my indicators and the poxy things wont budge. Theres seriously sticky black gue holding them in. Its a thick strachy gum kind of stuff. Only reason i know its there is some has oozed round the edges. Anyone else had this??
