I am about to change my N/A Jap 180 kph clock cluster for a TT UK 160mph clock cluster. I have a couple of questions:- 1) I don't mind the turbo psi dial being there below the speedo, I just wont be using it (obviously), but are there any other problems with exchanging N/A Jap clocks for TT UK clocks? 2) I am expecting the speedo to work to 180mph although the actual dial is only 160mph. Should I be able to correct this by means of the pot? Cheers - Dave

Heya need somebody who can fit my new Headunit!Has to have some experience as although seems simple with as has the correct cables it has a TV aerial too which needs to be put somewhere and sub needs to be hooked up to it! Just been having a look on autotrader and found 2 twin turbos that seem to be missing something. Probably a perfectly good explanation but can anybody else spot it. My odometer and tripmeter have suddenly decided to stop working! :confused: I've had a quick look but can't see anything obvious (in fact I can't see anything at all 'cos it's all out of sight lol) Has anyone any idea what might be causing this? BTW my fuel gauge has never worked since I bought the Zed.....could the two problems be connected? Cheers - Dave

should be a relatively easy mod. I want to disable the dimmer of the dash digital clock so it stays on the top brightness when the lights are turned on. I am guessing it is just a single wire that needs to be chopped but anyone any idea which one and if it is simple as that?

I really want to fit these monster brakes to my zed. I know they will not just bolt on. But does anyone know what would be required to make them fit? Has anyone done anything quite like this before?

I used this thread to adjust my TPS last night as a recent conzult showed it was slightly out of the ideal range. http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=83683&highlight=TPS I do not have a conzult so tried to make the adjustment using a voltmeter also described in the thread. When I connected the voltmeter to the neg battery terminal and the middle pin of the connector I got a 12+V signal. I could not find a voltage that showed anything similar to the 0.45 – 0.5 V range using all the settings on the volt meter and all the combination of pins in the connector and neg terminal. I tried a bit of guess work to adjust it by trying to get it in the middle.…

OK it popping and stuttering like a bugger if i put my foot down more than half way and it getting worse. Smell of petrol occasionaly. on idle it decides to increase and decrease its revs after a minute or 2. checked connectors and they are all fine, and brand new. any ideas.

Jus thought I d share this as my old zed had very noisey wipers , thought it was the wiper blades on the screen , but when I lifted them up the noise was there from the n/side pivot, which was groaning like hell. i removed the long scuttle panel after removing the wiper arms, then popped the linkage off from the motor to the centre pivot then undid the six retaining screws holding both the left and right pivots in place - then with the link rod between the two pivots still attached , slid /wiggled the whole assy out via the gap below where the drivers side pivot sits. Having inspected the left hand pivot I found it was rusted and siezed , so sprayed loads of wd40 over it …

Got problem lads with a 90 non turbo fairlady z, its when the air con is on its seems to be drawing too much power or something similar as when you push the clutch in at junctions etc the revs drop down really low to cutting out point, but if you turn the aircon off all is ok. Your advice is most appreciated. Thanks biker1010. :confused:

How much is tax for a z32 tt?

on the little gauge under the clocks on a n/a what should the oil psi be as mine goes up to just over 70 on start up but drops to about 30 when its been driven or warmed up but climbs up when i accelerate and drops when i back off the reason im asking is my mechanic says it should be up at 60 on tickover any advise gratefully accepted matty

my mate was driving his zed last night noticed it was dry on oil he topped it up with some oil then drove 5 mile home he then brought some oil today but a different grade both suitable for turbo cars he then drove it and all of a sudden lost all pressure oil started leaking but only from the oil cooler area but dont thinks its the cooller then thick black and grey smoke from exhausts is this the turbos broken and a oil leak at the same time or is this a set of things that discribe something more please help P.S MY REBUILD IS ALMOST FINISHED YEAH :nana2:

i've got slight movement on the propshaft on the constant velocity joint on the back near the axle. Should i be really worried about this or do you think its got loads of time. Its only got a couple of mm play

Guys, If any of you were at silverstone you will have seen my engine go spectacularly up in smoke during the final track session which was a real pisser as it was going real well. Anyway i have now got a replacement engine and gearbox with 33,000miles on them :D and have decided to start my quest for 500bhp+ and a manwell conversion. :hyper: I am in the process of sourcing the Z1 motorsport GT600 (T28 based) turbo kit and plan to do Z1 uprated throttle bodies, fuel rail injectors and chip the ECU accordingly. I already have stillen side mount intercoolers. My question is has anyone gone this route and if so what lessons learned can you share. D…

I have sold my Z after 2 years of smile while clocking up the miles. Now has come the time for me to say good bye. I have met some very nice guys on here to name a few Paul Stevens, Cybernet, Takemetothepub, Jock, Bassologist, and Wozzer. what are all the lil bits people remove/bypass while refitting a engine? i mean things like egr removal and the pcv re-route thingy. Also are there guides for them? Thanks
