I need to start considering a replacement or upgrade for my 5 speed manual which can handle allot of power. What are my options? and how much?

Hello all :) Bought it nearly 5 weeks ago from a guy in Melksham. It's a 96TT zed imported in 99 and garaged by the last two owners. The guy I got it from joined this very forum and popped the 300zx.co.uk stickers in the rear quarter windows. Has a personal plate on it that starts 'TIL xxxx'. Wondered if any of ya knew it? Needs a few things sorting out some of which I have done (all the roof & door seals), got a pcv valve kit from coz too. Black paint on the front bumper is blistering slightly but easy enough for me to sort out.

Does anyone own or have a picture of a Z with a standard front bumper with a FMIC, thanks :)

Has anyone attempted to do D.I.Y Alloy wheel referb? I noticed after cleaning the wheels, what looked like light brown scabby marks on the dish, on closer inspection it looks like cracks in the Lacquer and in some places the Lacquer has come off. Also has gougies from kerbing on the edge of the rim. Is it worth my while attempting to rub the Lacquer off and re Lacquering the wheels my self? I know you can get these Alloy Wheel referb kits which are supposed to repair the gouges etc. Has anyone used one of these kits or is it best to take to a proper wheel referbing centre? Cheerz

I keep seeing a grey uk tt around the mytchett and farnborough area. Is it anyone on here. I drive the red uk tt that keeps passing you.

If the MAF is failing what sort of symptoms does this typically throw up?My car is very lumpy on idle and just touching the accelerator it's all over the place and lumpy in lower revs ..over 3000 rpm it straightens out and seems to be random (better at times than others)Would a failing MAF also affect an o2 reading?

I'm fitting a Sony head unit & CD & Panasonic bass tube to my new auto and can't work out the easiest route to get the cables to the back. Tracing back on my old Z it looks as if you take off the sill covers and put them behind the carpet. Is that right? How do you get them behind the rear seat - do you have to take it out and the trim or is there an easier method? I got an ISO connector (all Nissan models) from Harry's but when I got it home it already had two wires cut and wrapped with tape :eek: :mac1: so back to bloody Slough on Sat. Just been reading the Buyers guide, the wrong side of purchase. Just wondering what places, near the Midlands could carry out the Compression checks, ECU check and other ancilliary checks that are recommended? I want to have the car perfect before winter regardless of cost.

My latest Zed is fitted with a Toad alarm which I think may be a cheap 'un. What is really pissing me off with it at the moment is it occasionally locks me out of the car. It happened twice now and the second time was when I was collecting the car from Infinity Exhaust yesterday. I started it up and went round the back to listen to the new note and then could not get back in. A length of welding wire was brought into play and the window was opened. Afterwards when I got into the car and started it again with the door shut it did not lock it, what the f@@k is going on, any ideas please. :confused:

Is it possible to change just the back section of an exhaust on a Z as I would ideally like 2x2 3" chrome tail pipes but dont want to fork out for a full system?

My drivers side electric window has taken fits of stops and starts. Could work for weeks then nothing. The black switch behind the door panel is clicking when I try to use it but that's all, the motor won't work. I read on the forum that it probably means the motor is kaput. Does anyone know what other Nissan uses the same motor or where I can get one. CheerZ, S

Did Nissan use both titania and zirconia lambda's on zed's, I been looking to see which ones i need, Mine have a red wire running through which indicates titania but I have found conflicting info on the net so would like to know for sure before I buy the wrong ones :smash:

I have just bought a Strosek front and rear bumper. Can anyone tell me where i can get the lights for the front bumper? I have looked on the Zcentre website as they sell the bumpers but don't seem to be able to find the lights. Thanks in advance. :D

Whats the best way to prep and paint the brake calipers? The calipers i have are the cast ones (not ally), is it just a case of cleaning them up and painting. Also whats the best type of paint to use? I've seen specific caliper paint, high temp paint and also heard of a few people using hammerite. Any help and preferences are much appreciated :hyper: .

I've bought a Border bonnet from a guy in Belgium and have to meet him at Brands Hatch this weekend - 14th or 15th July. Was going to make a day of it by watching the GT Car Championship but how the hell do I get 2 bonnets home 200+ miles?
