Just wanted to say it was great to see some old faces and very nice to meet some new people. Thanks most of all to Mark for organising such a top day out. I very much enjoyed myself. Can't wait until I'm running a real chip :) **edit** Forgot to add... Don't forget to post your results in the dyno section of the forum.

Strange one, When I have it on screen demist i can get hot or cold air out of the top vents. If i put on to air con i get cold air out the top vents and hot air out the bottom. If I turn them both off I still get hot air out the bottom. This has only happened since having the heater matrix done so could it be that a cable has not been plugged in or is it more likely to be a valve stuck somewhere? Darrell

I've just bought a set of Tomie Adjustable cam gears and after opening the box realised that they look totally different to stock e.g. where is the VTC??? After googling Adjustable cam gears ditch the VTC. My inistial throught ditching the VTC would result in a slower Zed? but correct me if i'm wrong, does VTC just advance and delay the timing? but with adjustable cam gears i could have the VTC timing on all the time? as i would advance or delay the cam gear so it was fixed? If that is the case then why do we have VTC and why don't cars run with the VTC timing all the time? Or have i completely got the wrong end of the stick altogether? Can s…

It's started all over again.......the first box went and i had an uprated one put on then engine went so put another one in. To add insult to injury the auto box is fookin up again. I dont rag it but just suffer bad luck. Whats happening is all forward gears are good, just that when i sometimes put it into reverse the car feels like the brakes are on. It drags bad. Also when this has happend i put it in neutral and the car creeps forward. Is there any relation with reverse and neutral. Ive self diagnosed but results were good so clutchs or solinoid on way out i think:cry::cry::cry: And im in Holland again ffs!!!!

My car already came with an aftermarket steering wheel, so unsure as to what was removed to fit it. The reason I ask is that I am trying to re-connect all the cruise control stuff. Now I've discounted fitting the 94+ cruise control paddle and I'm going to mount the buttons from the series 1 somewhere. The problem is, I have no idea what any of the wiring looks like for the cruise control. I don't know what the wiring is like at the back of the stock steering wheel, nor do I know how it fits to the slip ring. I took off the cowling earlier and couldn't identify any CC stuff.

  12. Hi there from Austria, I´ve seen a video with a z, drifting around a person (was a show), and the car ran into the limiter around 20 sec without stopping. Does it just sound like damage, or can the engine be injured from that? GreetingZ, Patrick

  14. Here is a few pictures and detail on my new toy. Only cost about £80 but is a lot of fun!! Oh, the braided fittings were another £30 or so plus an LED from Maplins and a bit of wire. Bolted it straight onto the inside of the off side wing and plumbed it straight into the brake servo and the chasis. The switch has gone from the gear lever, to steering wheel and ended up rather neatly on the indicator stalk. The LED waring light from maplins is slap bang in the middle of the instrument pod and shines nice and bright in your face when you engage the line lock. Lots of smoke and nice warm tyres and away we go!!!!!! Andy

Hello all Had a go at fitting my new gauges today with Jimmy (cheers bud!) and found that the zcentre triple pillar pod doesn't seem to have any way of attaching it to the A-pillar  There is a screw hole near the top but nothing to screw into on the pillar. I know a few peple on here have the same/similar pods so was wondering what you all did to fix it in place? Thanks in advance

When I test drove the car, I commented on how light the power steering was.. I didn't realise that it was 'Too' light.. Suddenly it goes hard again for a few days (which feels..normal?), maybe, then light, for a few hours/days, I've found when its 'light' if i break heavy, the next turn, its hard again.. Is this a common problem or does anyone know about it? Also is it dangerous? - other than being too light, which I'm kinda happy with, felt really nice - but is anything going to break on me suddenly? Where I light, I mean I could turn the wheel all the way round with 1 finger.. When I say heavy, I have to put a fair bit of effort in to turn …

I have recently fitted an upgraded rad cap with a pressure release of 1.3 bar. I am losing coolant and when the engine stops and all is quite, I can hear a hissing and spitting right at the back of the plenum. I can see 2 large hoses and have tightened the clamps but ther seems to be somthing that I cannot see but I can hear hissing and spiting and it sound like drop of water hitting something and then fizzing (evaporating). Is this a common problem and more to the point, is it an easy fix? I could go back to the old cap but that seemms pointless!! Thank you in advance, Andy

I think we should have a thread with a list of the common things zed's fail the MOT on so we know what to check. Excess Play in rear HiCas Inner and Outer arms. Excessive Corrosion of Inner and Outer rear Sills (Due mainly to blocked Targa Drainage Channels) Excessive Corrosion of Rear Brake Pipe the run up over the rear Sub Frame Rear Fog Lights in a j-spec (grey area with some mot people failing when its in where the inner brake lights are) any more?
