many of you guys may or may not remember me.. my z suffered epic head gasket failure last year and since then i just havent had the heart to get rid of her.. well although at the moment i cannot afford to put her back on the road.. as a replacement engine is just a no go at the moment finance wise! however would just let ya all know i have started work on the bodywork over the past 2 weeks! .. serious amount of elbow greese involved in sanding her down! .. want to get everything spot on then resprayed.. and then hopefully by this time next year should have afforded (recession dependant) an engine transplant/rebuild.. although still considering dropping the engi…

Hi guy's Just to let you all know I have just started useing a new paint system from the States. It means I can now apply a full chrome finish to any surface, even plastic. So I was thinking what I could use it on first. After seeing some of the attempt on chroming the front lights I thought I would have a go. As it happened I had a spare pair of lights, so this is how it went. After opening up the lights and stripping out the insert. A light rub over and then the base coat was layed on. Then the chrome efect A couple of layers of lacker and a polish and... Its a little hard to see the reflection through the glass but I think you ca…

.....is the shared appreciation of a truly great car ! I know that sounds like stating the bleeding obvious but what I mean is that the appreciation is generally across the spectrum of models and the owners personal preferences in terms of mods/originality. Can you imagine how awful it would be to be a part of a club like.....oh lets say the Aston DB5 club where everyone was obsessed with originality or something like that (Not that I'll ever be a part of that club :) ) I think its fair to say that we all own great cars !!! I'm not entirely sure I've put that too well but I'm sure you know what I mean..... Mark

Hi people, OK.... My 300 is running good, but...I am a little concerned about my oil temperature. What is the oil temperature at idle, while driving, and under load for a standard and modded 300ZX? Also, does the grade of oil make any difference to the running temperature? Cheers all, Al.

I have blasted my r33 brembos to repaint and rebuild but cannot decide what colour to paint them... I always had the intention of just going black with a white brembo stencil to keep it simple, however, last night i stumbled across a tin of high temp alluminium paint...Ii think it will be a kind of metallicy version of this... I kinda like it though i'm not sure if it will work on a red car? Any opinions on this?... I deffo dont want red calipers before any1 suggests it!

had low compression to begin with, was checked by chris at z tech, anyway, on my way to work this morning (4:45am!) and could hear a tapping noise from the engine:eek:, was nearly at work by then so took the chance to make the rest of the journey taking it very slow obviously. within a couple of mins the power rapidly got worse and the tapping got very loud!!!then the engine cut out on the A40 had to jump out and push the thing while still in motion (got to get in the gym i was f***ed) luckily a fella in a kitted up mx5 with a turbo who also has an rx7 (he knows about breaking down lol) stopped and helped me push it to safety. looks like i need a rebuild sooner than…

Seen a green zx in westbury and trowbridge (wilts) looks like a N/A and is auto, also if you read this, you drive like a dick, nearly ploughed into me on the a36, and generally looks like you drive like a penis. But i spotted you anyway if your a forum user!

Had the zed MOTd today after 2 years off the road and was advised it needs new discs and pads all round, 2 front tyres but the back are right on the limit and a pair of rear droplinks. I've been looking at getting the Powertrix droplinks from DTA so I think I've made the decision with them and I'm going to try and get some part-worns for the tyres - I'm just after recommendations for discs and pads all round. What do you think? Are the powertrix droplinks well recommended? Cheers, James

Does anyone know/have the dimensions for the 4 intake pipes? I have a friend who might be able to manufacture them in different materials but would require detailed measurements. Not sure if this is possible but just seeing what's possible really... Thanks

Love at the top it says "relisted due to non contact of winning bidder and no deposit paid" The last auction ended at 21:20 then this one starts the same night at 23:20. Call me picky but thats not a great deal of time get contact and a deposit, I think someone was bumping up their own price and he won his own car lol  Said it before and will say it again, something VERY not right about this car, the description and faults etc. IMHO Stay well away unless its less than a grand, then and only then would it be worth a go. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/300zx-TT-twin-turbo-fast-t-top-targa-modified_W0QQitemZ280347022544QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAutomobiles_UK?hash=…
