co 0.612% hc 82 ppm Result! PASS. You just need to be sure that the tester follows the correct procedure. First of all enter the correct year and model on the PC to start the test. then after that it fails to pass the first test on the analiser which it will probably do. Limit is 0.3% co. Thats hard to get without a cat!. Just make sure the tester scrolls down the NISSAN model list.. NO 300ZX found! So enter "other". That then defaults to a non cat test which allows much higher values to pass (co 3.5% hc 1200ppm.) Jobs a goodun! Didnt actually get an overall pass today due to a worn front bottom ball joint:cry: but I have already changed that this after…

The dash lights dim , the air con unit display dissappears and the starter dosent even attempt to turn over Battery is brand new as is the starter motor. I have a feeling it could be my immobiliser thats causing the drain but dose anyone have any other ideas Cheers Roy

Well after all the waiting and saving we finally got started on the engine build yesterday morning. First job before rudy got there was to get the freeze plugs in place and just finish painting the front face. When he did arrive we started by putting in the shell bearings and testing the clearance of the crank shaft Next job was crank down the caps and using plastigauge (which squishes out to a certain width) inbetween the shell bearing and the crank you can work out the clearances at the top which were absolutely spot on from front to back:

I know this must come up time and time again, but, Tonight i drove my car quite hard, I then let it cool on tickover for about 5 minutes. About 2 hours later I started it up and whilst it was ticking over I noticed whisps of smoke from the nearside exhaust that smelt like buring oil. I drove the car home and the smoke seemed to disappear... Whats causing this? What can I do to prevent this? What damage is it causing? Thanks guys, Dan

Had one of the rare days, that i wasnt doing anything, so i got on with a few odd jobs that ive been putting off. Have a slight bubble on the passenger targa, so after a bit of digging and cleaning i find this. Whilst the filler is drying, i decide to spray a spare engine cover. And take apart a spare rear panel, to make my own 99 spec style. Bit of a pain to do, but after heating with a hairdryer, it comes apart in one piece. Having checked up on a thread on TT net, i removed the '300zx' very very carefully. and sprayed up the inner panel to silver

in with the new....... Another job been waiting for months that I finally did today. Just about due I'd say too. The last one of these I installed came with 4 brackets that were a bit of a pain to install to the chasis, this one didn't. Made the job a little quicker, still cut f##k out of my arms getting the airbox off but got it off in 1 piece again without having to cut it off. other side of filters was clean as a pin so at least they were doing a good job and they were oem's

Hi there everyone, Had a bit of a nightmare week this week. Got a couple of problems that I'm hoping you can help me with. 1. Front left brake caliper pistons has seized, 3 of the 4 totally stuck solid. 2. Rear brake lines will not part from the hard metal lines. The join is totally rusted solid. Have goodridge lines to replace them with. I have tried all the obvious solutions to both problems but all to no avail so its now time to get serious. I am open to any solutions including upgraded calipers but nothing too stupid in price please. The car is my daily driver and being off the road out here is a total disaster. Many thanks, Rob

What is the difference between an induction kit & a cold air intake?? is there one?? aren't they the same thing??
