Damn i love my Z, there's nothing that comes close, love to watch the speed rapidly increase, ( when its safe to do so) although watching the fuel disapear is not so good, but who needs good mpg, when you have 2 turbo's and a smooth 3.0 V6 that just makes you smile everytime you press the load peddle, just thought i'd let you know how much fun i'am having in my car, and love this site, seem's the car come's with a whole site, rammed with cool people who all have something in common. will the showing up boy racers always be this much fun or will that wear off.

Ok what we got here then, a zed with an odd sound from the engine area, some thought was big ends, some thought was little ends and some even thought VVT springs. Well non of the above, the car has just been treated to a pair of new turbo`s ( last month) but they are fine and fitted well and are not the problem, sadly cannot say the same about the workmanship on fitting the gearbox back to the engine Cut it short when the gearbox was refitted he did not refit the side brackets between the gearbox and engine so there was no lower fixings at all, the top 4 fixings were all loose and the gearbox had started to fall backwards!!! the flex plate was been twisted by …

when I take my foot off the accelerator to stop, i.e at a junction or traffic lights the idle speed first stops at around 1500 rpm and then slowly falls to around 700 rpm. Anyone got any idea why it doesn´t fall directly to the set idle speed of 700 ? any input as always greatly appreciated :) Maz

This is where I got my Powertrix Street Coilover kit from on a group buy from 3zc. It looks as though they are doing another group buy if anyone is interested. This is the original thread that Legrath posted on here about them http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=121769&highlight=powertrix This is the link to the group buy. http://www.300zxclub.com/showthread.php?t=153909 Cheers, Ant

i have upgraded my discs to 3G bigger 2 piece units but kept the standard calipers, what i would like to do is go bigger again on the front and upgrade the callipers , either tarrox or brembo ( heard nasty stories with K sport items and warping of discs ) my question is can i put the 3G items on the rear and upgrade the calipers ( with a kit that has the handbrake assembly ) im sure there is one that does have it built in to the caliper........will have to check out the web ..what is the ideal size balance to maintain the equilibrium in the brake bias ??? has anybody done this ??

Ok, got the missfires sorted out after a good service. Found out that the vacuum hose for the turbo gauge was not working so after changing that the turbo gauge finally workes. When driving, the car never goes past the Second positive marker (half way into the plus boost) Ok so now i need to figure out why it is in safety boost. Also noticed that the temp gauge keeps working then not working intermittantly (hoping this is cause of safety boost as conzult showed no errors) however i may have a boost leak as i notice no matter what speed i am doing, if i hold down the throttle for more than say 5-6 seconds i get a drop in power (like hitting a wall)…

Hi, Does anybody know where you can get a dog guard to fit the z please. Got 2 little jack russell crosses so they still have plenty of space in the back. In my last car they got hair all over the interior and even decided to have a good knaw at my handbrake which wasnt very pleasant to use after that. Had a look at a few places but the height of the boot seems to be a bit of a problem.

Good technical advice is a good thing, it can help you save time, money and effort, but if you get bad advice it can go a long way to ruining the 300zx owning experience. I have mentioned before my dismay at some less than accurate tech information I see on the Internet in general and sadly some of it here hence this post which I hope will be taken positively and in no way a dig at anyone. The Internet, and Internet forum clubs are a great source of knowledge both from professional, amateur and enthusiasts who through their own separate experiences bring together a larger slice of knowledge than any single owner could have accumulated themselves BUT.... all of that i…
