General Discussions - 300ZX Related

Hello, i wonder if someone can give me a few pointers. I have been asked to change the head gaskets on a friends 300ZX Twin turbo. I have had a read through some posts and there seems mixed views on whether this can be done in car, or is it better to take the engine out. What is there to look out for when doing the job? Is it straight forward or is there anything special to look out for? Any specialist tools needed etc. Look forward to anyones replies.

They are indeed split rims, just been outside and there is a nut one side and a bolt the other, they do undo, on the dish itself its embossed =AV like a signiture, but can't find a set anywhere on the web?

Hello all im after a little please. My car came with the centre section stanless steel. Looking under the car there seems to be a sensor on the cat. If this is missing will it up set the cars running. Thanks in advance for your feed back. The car already has the back boxes to this systen on.

Pics to follow, Got to take some! Im the happy owner of a 1990 lwb tt. One word can only descibe this car and its mint. Only had an stainless steel exhaust and has covered only 94000km. All services from nissan or zed world and runs only on v power and mobil one oil (which is pure gold). Im a happy bunny until the thead i read on models 1989-1992 but this car has no problems yet!!! Hi got a pair of of stillen intercoolers from the for sale section on driftworks they look nearly new for £120 good buy i think. Do i need to modifiy anything to fit these ,pipes bumper,lights etc any body got these fitted thanks.:cool:

Hi All, I removed my old ICE unit at the weekend ready for the new one and after I had finished, the passenger window would not close?. They cannot be connected surely?. I cannot find a fuse either. Apart from the motor suddenly giving up the ghost, is there anywhere else it can lose supply from i.e a fuse that I don't know about. Cheers.

Hi all, my reverse lights was un plugged ( both white plugs) i plugged them back in and selected reverse they lit up for a split second and went back out, i've un-plugged them again just in case, any got any idea's cheers, Dom

hi all i took my maf of today and the mesh filter bit at the top end of the maf had a huge hole in it does anyone know if i can replace this or do i have to replace the whole thing cheers

went upto york raceway today and did 3 runs, my 1st was 14.0, my second was 13.9 and my last one was 13.2. i was well impressed, with a bit more practice at my starts (it's an auto!) could be into the 12's. and i managed not to break it so i could drive it home :dance:

Hello all fellow Zed owners! Ive been a quite member for quite a while now, but Ive also been searching behind the sceens for a zed car, my search was for a freshly imported Z32 TT manual. Today at lunch time today in the Poddington Garden Centre car park. Nice looking G reg, standard spec. One day I will see another zed when I am in mine !

Not so much as a spotted but a nice to meet you. Pulled up at Old Warden classical car show and parked the zed. (After paying the earth to get in.) A guy approched the car and what followed was a helpful and informative converstation. It was nice to meet you and thanks for the help and advice. See you next weekend.!

was a good meet but i think i got a bit carried away taking pics of the beast :rofl: thanks to all the people that turned up. was nice to meet you and was good to see 6 300's this month which is considerably more than last month.also cant go without saying thanks to the other Z's that turned up.
