The story continues ... I will put down a list of what we have tried and hope that someone can suggest something new! Battery is flat but when we try something new and try and turn it over we jump it off another car. New series 2 PTU CAS checked and sparking. ECU checked and showing code 55 Alarm checked and its not the imobiliser (consulted alarm technician) Fuel Pump working Cambelt fine and dandy. We have traced a fair bit of the electics and the readings are the same as the 300 parked next door!. Hopefully it will be something slight that we have overlooked but we really are starting to pull our hair out and for those…

Got my zed a 330mm K-Sport 8 pot break kit but unfortunately (this is really embarracing) my 17" are not going to like the new kit. So, I need some new 18"s and need help finding the right alloys. ATM, i've got these; I really like them but I don't have a choise. I'd like same sort of deep dish rears and some matching fronts. Any suggestions...

Finally lent my mates boost leak detecter from him which he made for his Leon. Found one leak from the idle valve, the clamp was loose. Tried again and found another at the drivers side rear but its so bad that it loses pressure before i get to find it. So just waiting for my mate to turn up to help!!! hope i dont find anymore well p***ed off now lol. i think this might solve most of my issues what you think boys and girls. What problems can boost leaks give you? Regards Andy

Just bought this from a guy down the road. I did not know it existed as I have never seen it around. Its an import with a shed load of bills with it including almost £2K some three years ago being spent re-conditiong the auto box. It has a quite good leather interior with only a small bit of wear on the drivers squab, a cracking stainless steel exhaust and the original owners handbook and service book. The chassis is spotless and all the trim inside is clean and very good. The engine is really sound and pulls well but is losing water which I think is 'HEAD GASKET'. Its been standing since December 2008 when the MoT expire, but starts on the button. It formerly belonged to…

The forward gears seem ok but i havent really taken it anywhere for fear of it going. When i select park it doesnt want to go in and the selector stick kind of clicks when it goes in, also reverse is not selecting properly it goes in but it is juddering backwards its not particularly smooth at all, like i say forward gears seem to go ok but ive only been round the block and havent been over 30mph, there is though some wining sounds when you first select drive??? any thoughts please, or is it manual conv time as if it f**cked i r…

I'm fitting some new rear R33/34 calipers today (already had the front ones on) and want to know the best way to drain the old fluid and refill with Castrol SRF. I've only got a litre of SRF so what's the best way to get the old fluid out? If I drain the front calipers somehow can I just blow the system through with air to get most of the old fluid out? I've got a pressurised EasyBleed type system I was thinking I could use to do this as it connects to a spare tyre? I'd normally just keep bleeding the system until the existing fluid is all flushed out but this stuff is expensive and I don't want to waste loads of it. Any better ideas?

95 TT jspec auto. Only seems to happen once in a blue moon, notably when it is a colder wetter day. Noticed lately sometimes that my idle will decide to be about 1200rpm. I could use the car later in the same day and it will be normal at 800rpm. Something is obviously amiss though but where should I start to look? I'm thinking so far; check for vac/boost leaks. TPS voltage. the idle control valve? Ok so yesterday I started off by doing a boost leak test. Had to bung the oil dipstick tube as the air came outta there. Anyway I found a big leak on the hose that clamps onto the hardpipe behind the drivers headlight - sorted that ou…
