Hi, i have been told that the turbo gauge on a Zed turbo should always be to the left and would only move when you use the turbo. as mine is in the 2/3 of the way. the turbos work fine and it pulls like a train. can you please help.

I bought my 300zx with the air con belt missing, Paul (previous owner) said he never realised, is there a reason why someone may have removed this belt? Or is it likely to have just come of and someones not bothered putting one back on?

just been down to glastonbury to see a couple of jobs and on way back the road approaching new severn bridge was busy so i went over the old bridge ,was heading towards newport doing 100mph+ following a volvo estate ,(you know whats coming ) for at least 4 miles just before the M4 the back of the volvo lit up with blue lights ,if he could see my face i backed off and they carried on ,somebody likes me !!!

Hi guys, My 300 failed its MOT today. Im in need of advice for a few issues 1. Foglight not working (j-spec). Which light is normally used for the foglight? it may help with finding the wiring. The switch is installed on the centre console just to the left of the clock if that helps. 2. 4 new tyres (standard wheels). Ive been roughly quoted £358 for some cheap tyres fitted (kumho i believe)- is this about right? i'm only after cheapish ones atm. Other than that, it also failed on a split steering gaitor (not too bad) and the headlights arent working properly. Its the connection not the bulbs as you can move the wires about and they flicker on and off! …

This might sound a bit mental but is there any legal requirement to have the boot in place whilst driving? :) The reason i ask is the tailgate is coming off my breaker tonight and i might need to drive it tomorrow for a few miles. Can i just say it's a pick up? lol Cheers

hi im looking to buy my first z saw one yesterday it was a 91 jap auto tt, is the auto box ok, quick changes, can it handle high bhp, any common problems? any info whould be usefull. thanks

hi all just about to buy my first z, looked at one yesterday its a 91 jap import tt auto coverd about 60k looked and sounded realy nice but after warming up the engine there was some smoke from the engine near the battey. smelt like oil looked like a bit had leeked and was burning of? car had been siting in a garage for about a year could this be a head gasket?

Been thinking about this for a while, does anyone have or had made an alloy undertray. Ive got one but has a slight tear in it, i was contemplating taking to a local metal works thats makes casing in ali. They say it can be done in 3mm alloy and via a press brake., would help it stop rattling about, but also be light and strong. This would act as a template for others if needed. Anyone else done something?? Stu

Hi people, just wandering what the air regulator does and what type of problems if this is faulty it may cause? Can it make the engine misfire at idle when cold and make stall on restart up warm? Regards Andy

i can get all new clips for all the hoses ect whilst engine out saving using nissan because everything they sell is so expensive or is there a kit you can buy.

how about running on open headers what a nosie

what else to do whilst engine is out? maybe get new belts and get alternator recon not that dont work just thought save me time and pain later

HI, i have recently bought a 300zx twin turbo import. about 3k miles ago it had an engine rebuild and the turbos were repalced with T25's at a cost of alomost 4k. sincenthen the turbo gauge has been giving me a duff reading. when you start the car it is in the middle when i know it should be to the left. Also i have noticed that the exhaust just under the drivers footwell has started to make a louder sound..possibly there is a leak in the syste,. just wondered if anyone could shed some light on this. thanks

Well after my epic fail of a track session at castle combe im now on a mission to improve my stopping power. this is what happened to my discs whoopsy.... these are the puppies..... :D Now....where the hell do i start? do i fit some discs that i like then make the messurements to fit the calipers? I was thinking to fit them on my discs i have at the mo then once i have them fitted buy the same discs but without the drilled holes and just slotted. But i have no idea what discs they are, il give z1 a call soon, maybe they can help. The only prob i had with them discs was the cracking, other than that the brakes always felt responsive and…

conversion is going well, got the engine and box in today, and finally mates the 45 different combinations of the prop :D using the NA auto loom, there seems to be a few plugs with nothing to conenct to? i know there are no boost solenoid things on the NA loom, but i dont know what the boost solenoids look like on the TT engine, which is in there? there are 2 red large plugs each side of the engine, which i dont know what plug into (i asume that that 1 end is actually on the solenoid, and the other end is supposed to connect to the loom) other than that, there seem to be a few more conenctions just left? should there be many that just connect…

I have recently bought a new exhaust and am thinking about de-catting it.. I have heard a few people mention about problems with doing this as it affects turbo-spooling... I'm guessing the standard exhaust has restricters in it and is all adjusted and set perfectly for the turbos.. so all I want to know is, how people get away with de-catting their twin turbo zeds, do they fit restricters in the de-cat pipes themselves to try and compensate? - Also, the AIV system... what is that for?.. and do I need it?..
