Hi people, just wandering what the air regulator does and what type of problems if this is faulty it may cause? Can it make the engine misfire at idle when cold and make stall on restart up warm? Regards Andy

i can get all new clips for all the hoses ect whilst engine out saving using nissan because everything they sell is so expensive or is there a kit you can buy.

how about running on open headers what a nosie

what else to do whilst engine is out? maybe get new belts and get alternator recon not that dont work just thought save me time and pain later

HI, i have recently bought a 300zx twin turbo import. about 3k miles ago it had an engine rebuild and the turbos were repalced with T25's at a cost of alomost 4k. sincenthen the turbo gauge has been giving me a duff reading. when you start the car it is in the middle when i know it should be to the left. Also i have noticed that the exhaust just under the drivers footwell has started to make a louder sound..possibly there is a leak in the syste,. just wondered if anyone could shed some light on this. thanks

Well after my epic fail of a track session at castle combe im now on a mission to improve my stopping power. this is what happened to my discs whoopsy.... these are the puppies..... :D Now....where the hell do i start? do i fit some discs that i like then make the messurements to fit the calipers? I was thinking to fit them on my discs i have at the mo then once i have them fitted buy the same discs but without the drilled holes and just slotted. But i have no idea what discs they are, il give z1 a call soon, maybe they can help. The only prob i had with them discs was the cracking, other than that the brakes always felt responsive and…

conversion is going well, got the engine and box in today, and finally mates the 45 different combinations of the prop :D using the NA auto loom, there seems to be a few plugs with nothing to conenct to? i know there are no boost solenoid things on the NA loom, but i dont know what the boost solenoids look like on the TT engine, which is in there? there are 2 red large plugs each side of the engine, which i dont know what plug into (i asume that that 1 end is actually on the solenoid, and the other end is supposed to connect to the loom) other than that, there seem to be a few more conenctions just left? should there be many that just connect…

I have recently bought a new exhaust and am thinking about de-catting it.. I have heard a few people mention about problems with doing this as it affects turbo-spooling... I'm guessing the standard exhaust has restricters in it and is all adjusted and set perfectly for the turbos.. so all I want to know is, how people get away with de-catting their twin turbo zeds, do they fit restricters in the de-cat pipes themselves to try and compensate? - Also, the AIV system... what is that for?.. and do I need it?.. when i rev the car it sounds like the exhaust is blowing down near the pasenger side turbo had the Nissan up on a ramp today.... it sounds like its coming from the back of the turbo? is there a gasket that joins that bit to the exhaust? i know its not the lower part where its held on with three bolts, the bit i mean is the part directly bolted onto the turbo? its sounds like the noisiest tappets ever but its 100% not the tappets? any ideas I'm worried?

ok just took delivery of a new engine from Nipponspares, one guy tells me its a 99 spec engine the other guy tells me its a late model 95-96.. are there any differences noticeable from the outside ? cant post a pic until i register soon !

will the numbers tell me on the tubs what they are if at all standerd or not or dosnt make a difference because of internals.

It seems i have wasted my money buying a 300zx TT a young lad told me..... doing NA to TT conversion, garage have foned me, the front half of TT prop is not mating with the rear half of the NA prop! the rear half is automatic, the front hald is manual if that makes any difference? the garage said the flanges are not meeting up? the car has the NA subframe & NA diff on, ive scrapped the TT diff now as was told it doesnt fitt the NA subframe??? please help im stuck!! :confused:

hi guys, im savin up to replace the head gasket on my n/a zed, im thinking of buying the gasket kit from conceptzperformance along with their n/a oil cooler and while the engines out removing the air con system, water channels that run under the plenum and the clutch bleed nipple, replacing the water hoses at the frount and back of the engine and changing the headers and frount pipes. then i came across the throttle body kit from z1 would it be worth geting this as well just to add a little power? has anyone used them and found them to be a good/bad mod? i dont know a great deal about tuning the zed so any other info or sugestions about this would be great thanks guys!

I want to put the FAIRLADY Z decal on the perspex strip on my UK zed. I know my car is called a 300ZX in the UK but it is a Fairlady at hart :) and they were going on my old zed before I crashed it! Do you consider this ok, or am I being a chav? YES I know I cocked up the spelling on fairlady! lol

The jdm targa is slight different to the uk one as a lot of you know, but why? Surely, it would have saved nissan a lot of money at the time, if they'd made them all the same. It must have cost a fortune to retool the production lines, and I cant see the reasons why they did! rant over. lol

..then it doesn't have an AIV? Was thinking about removing it, but read that they were only on zeds up to 1992. Save me a job if I don't :D

I want to mount 5 gauges in my zed, volt and air/fuel mix will be mounted in a twin pod A pillar and I want to put the other 3 (oil press,water temp and boost) in or on top of the audio console. I can't DIN mount them as both slots are filled with stereo and hd mp3. I've looked at z1 and zcentre and the options seem quite limited :( Does anybody have an idea of other mounting pods etc? Watch those speed humps, taken at speed thay can damage more than just bumpers and exhausts, the sump on this autobox had taken a fair wack and as a result the box was misbehaving, the strainer damage was causing line pressure problems, a new strainer the sump dent knocked out and all was ok.
