I'm going to fit 5 new gauges to my zed :smash:; Boost,oil pressure,water temp, air/fuel ratio and volts. However I have a few questions. 1. Can I just connect the water temp sensor wire from the gauge to the left hand temp sensor at the front of the engine? 2. The oil pressure gauge came with a sender, according to the instructions I need to get a sandwich plate thing that goes between the engine and oil filter. The sender then screws into that. Is there somewhere else I can fit the sender (thread size is 1/8" NPT)? Apart from up me arse! If not, can any one recommend a place to get one (ebay link, etc.) 3. The AFR gauge sensor wire goes to the ECU o2 con…

Many thanks to Darren at D2 in Strood for sorting all the problems on my Zed. It now runs really well and I am looking forward to seeing how it performs on the Surrey RR day. :hyper: I would certainly recommend D2 to anyone in the South East wanting any work done on their Zed.

Unbelievable what you find when changing an auto box today, given a previous thread about dangerous cable instillation was just a week ago to come across and almost identical case is bizarre. The second picture shows the cable wrapped in grey duct tape, when this tape was removed the cable was broken and just twisted together! The cable ran up alongside the passenger turbo, and the cable insulation was blistered along its length past the turbo.

i have a noise comeing from the top right hand side of the enigine around where the cams are and the idler pully it sounds like a sort of grinding noise car drove fine and could not notice any loss have since took the time covers off and coulde not see anything obvious am now looking at doing a cambellt and idler pully change just to elimanate and best to be safe than sorry was wondering if any body had also had a similar noise next part is i hace seen this a NISSAN 300ZX Z32 TURBO & N/A Lightweight Crank Pulley and was wondering it is worth me changing to this whille i will have mine off also are they any good or is it going to be more trouble than its worth it …

Well what can i say. I took my car to get road tested today and it failed on emissions. Fookin fumin!!! I can't understand it as it has never failed before. It only got tested on the 18th March in UK when the MOT was done. I think the bloke that did it hasn't a clue:xxx: It passed everything else, just failed this. I noticed i had left the Boost controller on. Would this have mad a difference?? Does anyone have the readings that the zed are tested by. Im sure this bloke has fooked up:rant: I'm off to a German test center Saturday to prove him wrong!!!:rant:

Hi, after recently buying a zed i was after some advice. i want to increase the boost on the engine so i get a bit more power. can i safely do that wihtout the need for a engine upgrade/chip etc. and where can i take it to do it thanks

Hi all i have just got a 300zx and dont know if its twin turbo or single its a 1992 2+2 the logbook just says 300zx turbo, ???

anyone know how to do this, i cant find my fob, but have a spare, got a new battery but its not working rang an alarm guy he said it needs to be re programmed but he doesnt do toads

My Zed is having a full car blow over with the work being done, which includes correct bumper and bootlid. My question is, has anybody got any good ideas on what colour i should paint it? The car is mettalic black now, and i dont really want to have the door shuts etc done and would like to stick to black. So the question really is, does anybody have any sort of blacks they like on other cars, or should i do other things like flakes or and 2 tone ideas etc, anything really. So far its going to be the original colour or high gloss black. A friend of mine thinks gloss black with a red flake would be good, but for me it would have to be a very small flake, and spre…

Swapped the TT diff for an N/A, new one piece prop (£240). Find myself looking for another gear quite often, in gear acceleration seems better, it will light the tyres dry road second gear straight line without clutching it (275 x19") now. Top speed is less, but who needs that anyway? Cant say I notice the lack of Hicas. Uses fuel like there is a hole in the tank, lol. But it was never good at MPG. Running 555 injectors on standard tubs, decat, firdanza alloy flywheel etc. But 19 inch wheels which are poor for 1/4 mile times. Ran a 13.4 first ever run at Avonpark into a strong headwind. Worth while? Probably not. Would not do it again. Comments?

Does it really matter which way an oil cooler is orientated? Inlet/outlets at the bottom/top/sides? One is for the Auto Tansmission Oil - the other for Engine Oil I am thinking NOT! But just wanted to check with a GURO. ;)

Having replaced the radiator with a nice (shiney) fat after market unit I still have the forward placed aircon radiator blocking/sharing it's direct air path. Having put in a massive (shiney) intercooler and two seperate Autobox and engine oil (shiney) rads I am not happy with the crappy aircon rad (not shiney)!!:( I am a pussy and I don't want to lose the aircon (did I just say that :x:) - so the question is... Is there an alternative to the aircon rad - maybe from another car or is there something special about it? I am open to blue-sky thinking here chaps :D PS: Did I mention it has to be shiney :xxx:

Has any one ever had their prop shaft bolts come loose?I was out in the Z today and I lost one of the bolts that attaches the prop shaft to the diff the metal washer that holds two bolts had opened up and cut a nice hole in the floor of the Z lol.Strange that its taken over four years for this to happen as thats when the auto-manual conversion was done.Anyone else ever had loose bolts on their prop?

Hi every one, i've got a 300zx tt and it seems to have white smoke comming out the exhaust when on idle or when coming to a stop at traffic lights, other then the smoke, the car runs great no weird noise's, the v6 is very very smooth, no smoke on hard acceleration, just when at a stop, i've been told fcv valve's, any idea's people, thanks for reading.

water pump 1990tt man geuine part or ebay stuff any diff and bearing in mind ive never had a problem with overheating or cooling should i leave alone or repalce with whats in there?

where is it and how much is it and is it worth doing or not please?

when taking engine out,it was a rightso and so to do on my own because id split the box too. Now im thinking when putting back in is it going to be a nightmere or should i drop the the box mate them up and place bake in one peice will this be easyer or am i just opening onather can of worms?

Just before i get dirty, i am 90% sure on this but thought i would ask any way i am just about to fit my new upper arms.....and they are handed. Just to be sure when the part is labeled lh or rh does this mean lh= n/s or passenger side and rh= o/side or drivers side Pretty certain lh= n/s but thought i would check Dave

i think my car has started detting, it seems to start at around 3000rpm never did it before, only started about a week ago, doesnt do it when cold, i have an unknown chip in my car which im taking out and putting my standard ecu back in, what else could cause this, i am running standard boost (that i know of) would a datascan show me what is wrong????

what a difference, drives a lot smoother, but now ive noticed the revs hunting and stalling, would this be because i altered the base idle with completley chocked valves and pipes and now its breathing better???
